Is it just me or does it seem EVERY show on there lately is about home buying, flipping houses, house hunting, house repair type shows...ect? Where are all the fun decorating shows? Or the Junk/garage sale/flea marketing idea shows, even crafty type show? I am can't tell you the last time I watched HGTV, I just skip right by it. ..and I used to LOVE HGTV! Am I going to have to get the DIY channel to find what I used to see on HGTV? Anyone?

I miss the decorating shows too. I have High/Low Project set to record and it doesn't record very often. Most of them are from 2012 too.

Don't bother getting the DIY channel - it's all home renovation shows. I can't remember the last time I saw an actual "crafty show" on either of those channels. HGTV has been practially all home buying shows for several years now. I think it's just because those shows are so cheap to produce.

There's a channel called "Create" that is affiliated with Public television where you can catch an occasional craft show (although it seems to be about 70% cooking shows and 30% arts/crafts) CREATE CHANNEL

There's also a show on TLC called Craft Wars that was pretty good if you need a "fix" . I think it's a summertime show, but you can probably watch last season on TLC online.

DIY isn't much better. THey have a lot of do it yourself home renovation projects but nothing related to crafts and things like that. I loved HGTV back in the day when it was more centered around decorating and crafts. I miss the old Carol Duval crafts show and there was even a scrapbooking one. I wish there was a CraftTV channel. I think with all the other choices out there there is a need for a channel like this.

Yep I am sick of seeing the whiny people buying houses on HGTV.

I miss some of the old shows:

Decorating Cents
Trading Spaces
Design on a Dime
Missionrganization
The one where they pick stuff from a catalog and then have to guess if the room they put together falls into a specific $$ amount and then they won all the contents of the room...

Me too.. I used to love watching Carol Duval and all those shows.. Even the quilting show.. (wasn't fond of that host) but the quilts were beautiful to see (and I don't quilt either)..
I wonder how Carol Duval is doing... she was so easy to watch...

I adore Sarah 101 for true decorating and Lara Spencer's flea market find show too.

I used to watch a lot of HGTV and DIY. Now both of them are mostly just house buying/selling/flipping. I do have Designing for the Sexes set to tape. It's about one of the last design shows I enjoy.

Once in a while I will watch a couple of shows on HGTV - I like Bryan Baeumler and Scott McGillivray but their shows are still mostly about the reno. I really liked the decorating shows that had Sarah Richardson as the host - her stuff was pricey but very inspiring.

I still catch Candice Olsen on WNetwork - love her stuff too!!!!

I stopped watching HGTV when they stopped airing Simply Quilts years ago and in its place put in paid advertising shows. I liked the Carol Duvall show too but my husband couldn't stand her voice so I had to listen with headsets.

Sometimes early in the morning I catch Cash and Cary or something like that, about estate sales and such. But it is mostly home reno and purchasing anymore.

Oh man! I am so glad you mentioned the good shows bbk! Design on a Dime was a MUST for me! I loved all those shows! Carroll Duval was one of my faces! I found this little blurp on her from 2011
Carol Duval. The only one I really did not care for (she seems snobby to me) is cash & Cary. Love the concept..hostess..naaah. I also love the flea market how's, ex: the junk sisters & Lara Spencer show but it seemed as if they only did like 8 shows & then the "season" ended? HGTV doesn't seem to do repeats?

House Hunting shows saturate the channel because they are reportedly ridiculously cheap to produce.

HGTV used to be my favorite Channel. I can't recall when I watched it last.
