...WonderPets, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Dinosaur Train, and what passes for Sesame Street these days.

It's been a long day. We've read book after book, played chase, taken a nap, watched the laundry in the front-loading washing machine, built with blocks, turned on all the noisy toys at the same time, had breakfast and lunch and snacks.

And watched TV. He is just now at the age of being interested, so we've tried different things during the day. Some of the stuff that is on is just CRAP! But the above named shows I could tolerate.

It's been 18 years since I had one this age at home, and I'm pretty sure she didn't get the attention from me that this grandchild is. Maybe because there were 3 more above her, all born within 6.5 years of each other? So while I feel a little bit guilty about turning the TV on today, Grandma is TIRED! (But I love it, and *I* don't have to do it every day like his mommy does with him and his newborn brother!)

We have a 2 and 1/2 yr old grandson, and he is allowed one Sesame Street or Daniel Tiger a day now.
there is so much to do when you are a toddler, and yes, grandmas and grandpas get tired out.
There are fun new books now, and our grandson loves the "old" Raffi CD's along with some of our music. We have music time every day he comes over!
The local library has music time for toddlers, and that's really fun! only 1/2 hour.
Enjoy!

Being a grandma is the best!

I would never have thought that I would know all the words to Barney, the Rugrats, Dora, Spongebob, Curious George and Clifford the Big Red Dog!! My oldest grandchild is 19 and the youngest 8!

LOL. Where's the "like" button here?

Kaylee is fascinated with Mermaids and I was looking around on Amazon Prime Streaming and there is an australian mermaid show for kids called H2O - Just Add Water.

We're on episode 10. She's been watching it all day. LOL!

Awh, and doesn't Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood make you a little nostalgic? I don't think Mr. Rogers had any bad effect on our kids, so there should be no guilt in enjoying a little Daniel Tiger with the grandkids. I'll admit I am ready for bed by 7-8 when I have the dgd all day!
Enjoy!

We just brought our grandson's book boxes in to put on shelves in the closet that Grandpapa built...4 book boxes.

I got tired and hopped on 2 peas while he sat in the closet & looked at his "new found" books that had been stored for a couple of months. I kept calling, "What are you doing?" He would say, "Reading".

20 mins later I took a look....ALL the books I had put on the shelf were in the floor surrounding him and he was happy as a bug in a rug.

Yes, they can tire you out, but you get to give them back...regain your strength and do it all over again. Aren't they wonderful.

Oh, my favorite show is Backyardigans.

Daniel Tiger is really good. The lessons /themes are so appropriate for ages up to K, I think..not sure if older children like it too.

It sounds as though you've had a fun yet tiring day. You're blessed that you're so close to your grandchildren and they are blessed to have a grandma like you who wants to be involved in their lives.

Someone is going to sleep like a baby tonight....and I'm not talking about the baby!

My mom used to watch my brothers 2 kids a lot. She would be absolutely worn out when they left.

Ha! My 4 year old and almost 16 month old are really into Fresh Beat Band right now. That is an improvement from Yo Gabba Gabba. My 4 year old has a hoodie that he wants to wear every day so he can look like Twist.

Tv is ok but reading aloud is so wonderful!
We read "oh, no George" yesterday and it was such a hit!!
I taught preschool for 40 years and I believe we can never have enough books! One of the first best indicators of Sucess in reading later.

My gosh, is that the same Daniel tiger from Mr. Rogers? My now 29 year old son loved Mr. Rogers. I can't wait to have cranberries to read to. I haven't seen children's tv in 20 years.
