my mom's 59 yrs old, just been hospitalized tonight because of a severe headache she's had for a couple days. they did a CAT scan and found a spot of bleeding on the top of her brain, about 1.75" by 1/2". they are watching it to see if it's growing and doing a dye test and all that. asked her tons of questions, had her repeat things, and there is slight confusion. they said it is probably not a tumor, and not an aneurism.
i know bleeding ON the brain is not as bad as IN the brain, buthas anyone had experience with this? to make matters worse, her brother's wife, my aunt, died tuesday of viral myocarditis.. just dropped dead in her bathroom at 48, leaving her husband and 23 yr old daughter. and their son had died young in a car accident 5 years ago. so that side of the family is dealing with a ton of pain, and mom feels awful she can't be there for them.

My mother and BIL's father both experienced it. Both recovered well. A bleed on the brain is a term for a small stroke. | |

I'm glad she's getting medical care. This may seem scary but that's a GOOD thing.

bc mom, they are! wow, the world is even smaller than we found out the other day. please keep the news about my mom to yourself for now, no one but immediate family knows, and we'd like to keep it that way until we know more. everyone's prayers are so appreciated! |

I know how scary this is for you. My dad was hospitalized for what they thought was a bleeder but turned out to be some sort of infection. He's fine now, but it's terribly frightening, i know. Your mom is in my prayers, and so are you! |

How scary and miserable! Your poor mama! And to have her SIL die and her nephew dead - UGH. How totally awful. I am so sorry you are all going through all of this.
I hope that they find that what your mom has is nothing major and she'll be fine in no time.

thank you again everyone, your prayers and compassion are wonderful to experience. they admitted her to ICU, and things were not looking good. i went to the hospital to be with her, they took her for an mri with dye and when she came back she was lucid, talking, recognized everyone. hoping opurs turns out to be one of the good stories, and hearing that there are good stories is so very helpful.
sharon, mark and bonnie vouched for you, they thought it was strange we met on a mesage board. they said you don't seem like a message board type lol! so nice to meet you, hope to meet you in person soon. |

**update**
so far good news this morning, they have ruled out tumor/cancer, it's not an aneurism. one doc thinks it's a clot, the other thinks it's not clotted, but it does appear to have stopped bleeding. she's sitting up and talking like normal, and all signs are pretty good. i guess an angiogram is next today.

I've had an angiogram-I didn't think it was bad at all, and was pretty quick.
I'm so sorry you're dealing with all this stress. Healing vibes being sent to your mother today. I truly hope she makes a full recovery-she is so young!
