My aunt is a missionary, has been for many years. Some of you may have even met her or know her.
She is currently in India on a mission trip. A few days ago she was taken to the hospital and was put in icu in a hospital there. We weren't sure of all the details. She purchased trip insurance which would take care of a medical transport home if needed. My Mom has been trying to speak to the dr's and others in India & it's been really hard to communicate with them. She has also been trying to communicate with the company in Florida that would be taking care of her transport home. Here's where my PSA comes in. Please make sure that the right people have a copy of your MPOA. These people are not able to tell my Mom anything because they don't have the copies. Mom didn't even know she was my aunts MPOA until recently. Mom does not have the right paperwork and neither does this company. It sure was making it so hard to get this done.
Sadly my aunt has gotten much worse and a medical transport is not possible right now. Please if you are a prayer warrior I would so appreciate prayers for her. This is all so scary for all of us, it's hard with her clear over there and absolutely nothing we can do to help her.
You never think that something is going to happen to you, it's always someone else but please when you are taking care of details remember the medical paperwork, too. |

What is MPOA?
I think it's Medical Power of Attorney, so that the OP can make decisions regarding her aunt's health care.
