I had asked for prayer and positive thoughts for Mathew last wk. Today marks 3 wks that he has been in childrens in pittsburgh.
In talking with friends.. I found out there is another little boy from my tiny small town that has the same symptoms and is in philly childrens... so I had Mathews dad call this other boys dad. Now the two hospitals drs are talking...
The symptoms are the same. Seizures, brain lesions, brain bleeds, weakness. They have tested for everything. THe only things that are not back completely are the results from the spinal tap, as they sent some of those test to Europe.
Please if you of any child in the hospital with head aches,seizures, can you let me know.. there has to be a way to connect these sick children. | |

My son spent 2mo in the children's hosp/3wks on life support when he was 5yo (2yrs ago). I can only imagine your anguish and I pray that a cause and solution are found very, very soon. |

That sounds frightening! Do they believe it is environmental? Did the boys cross paths at any point?
Have you considered asking the local news to run a story? Statistically, a tiny town having two vexing and identical cases seems unlikely. So I would think you could get it covered from that angle if nothing else.
Is there talk of either of the boys being moved to the hospital of the other for collaborative care? |

Have you posted on FB and asked people to share the basic
info? Maybe it would spark someone's memory, because it's likely
a child's family would be too busy to be online but a neighbor
or friend might help put the dots together.
Did they attend the same school, karate, basketball, hockey,
indoor practice facility? Was there a recent "county-wide"
event they went to, band, spelling bee, etc.?
Hopefully they find a common factor soon.
