Saw this on Facebook today:
With all this "gun control" talk I haven't heard one politician say how they plan to take guns from criminals, just law abiding citizens.

My version of gun control will. And its pretty simple really.

National Data base. Make gun owners responsible for their guns. From the time the gun is manufactured or legally imported to this country its tracked. If said gun is used to commit crime the last registered owner is held partly responsible. Versions are done with cars. Why not guns. I suspect this would be one way to take illegal guns off the street.

Oh yes, that's not going to happen because of the paranoid guns owners who think a national data base will give the government a vehicle to come and take away their guns. So silly.

As to this guy and his comments. Typical comments from a gun owner or someone who supports guns. Nothing new or enlighting.

The other thing I would do is make all gun laws national. Of course banning guns in Chicago wasn't going to work. It was going to fail from the beginning. The reason, while guns might be illegal in the city they aren't outside the city limits. Last time I checked when you come into the city there are no road blocks checking for guns. So of cousre it wasn't going to work. Cause you know those gun owners they just have to have their guns regardless of whether its legal or not.

With all this "gun control" talk I haven't heard one politician say how they plan to take guns from criminals, just law abiding citizens.
I have not seen a gun control law proposed that would have stopped the shootings at Columbine, Virginia Tech, Aurora, the Sikh temple, or Sandy Hook.

If said gun is used to commit crime the last registered owner is held partly responsible. Versions are done with cars. Why not guns.
Owners of stolen vehicles are not held liable for the damage and loss of life perpetrated by the thief with the vehicle.

Oh yes, that's not going to happen because of the paranoid guns owners who think a national data base will give the government a vehicle to come and take away their guns. So silly.

No many how many times it is pointed out that registration does and has facilitated confiscation, in the US, you call the concern silly. A list of guns and their owners absolutely gives the government a vehicle to come and confiscate the guns. That point isn't even up for debate. It is a fact that a master list of where the guns are gives information needed for confiscation. You don't think it would be used for that. History, in our country and others, shows that the government has done just that. I cannot imagine what basis you have for believing they will not. A Democrat in the Missouri legislature has introduced a bill to confiscate guns from law-abiding owners.

Because gun laws appropriate to Wyoming and Alaska are ideal for Connecticut and Los Angeles, right? Wrong. Look at Chicago and Washington, DC during time of strict gun laws. High crime. DC's gun law struck down by SCOTUS, law abiding citizens allowed to carry guns, DC's crime rate goes way down.

Please explain how your gun laws would have stopped any of the mass murders listed in the beginning of the post.

Krazy, why doesn't the government worry first about tracking the guns they knowingly give to criminals in Mexico before assuming they can keep an accurate and up-to-date database of legally purchased firearms.

Your plan still does not solve the issue of all the firearms that are out there already and the ones that are in the hands of criminals who don't follow the current laws and restrictions. I feel better knowing Krazy isn't making the gun laws for this country because there are so many holes and flaws in that list of "solutions". Not that I feel much better with Feinstein, Obama, and Biden on this issue. We all know how fabulously Obama can track the guns he sends across the border.

Mrs. Tyler I suggest you read ALL the facts about Fast & Furious & you'll see how a national data base would help the ATF track the guns into Mexico.

You are correct it won't solve the problem of the guns currently on the street. However a national data base will start to chip away at the availability of illegal guns on the street. Especially adding guns to the data base when they're sold as well as manufactured & imported. It is a start.

Don't fret, I have read all about Fast & Furious. However, when I read, I take off the rose-tinted glasses and haven't been sipping the special Obama kool-aid. Private US citizens making a legal purchase through already regulated markets is VASTLY different from the federal government handing unregistered, high-power rifles to known foreign CRIMINALS and choosing not to track them. I have a better solution to Fast & Furious, but it requires an impeachment hearing.

That is what I thought you don't know ALL the facts. Why don't you go back to around 2006 when guns were first being tracked to Mexico. Why don't you take a closer look at Arizona gyn laws. Why don't you take a closer look at the NRA sponsored restrictions put on what ATF agents can & can't do when it comes to tracking down these guns. And finally Mrs. Tyler why don't you take a look at all the gun trafficking laws that "help" the ATF agents in stopping the flow of guns into Mexico.

Actually Gia what I did was go & find the entire story about Fast & Furious & I put my findings on this board a couple of times. There is plenty of blame to go around when you actually "connect the dots". But people like Mrs. Tyler, who dislike the President, would rather blame the President then know the truth.

Desertpea if I was stupid enough to buy a gun then I would accept the responsibility of owning a gun and I wouldn't have a problem wuth a National Gun Data Base. To bad gun owners don't accept the reponsibility of a device that's only purpose is to kill.

Stupid enough to not remember the difference between to, too, and two.
Stupid enough to not know what guns are for.
Stupid enough to call gun-owners stupid.
And certainly stupid enough to argue for a loss of others' privacy under a pea identity rather than her real name while not backing up her claims.

I already abide by the reasonable gun control restrictions in my own state and am a very responsible gun owner. I think stupidity is acting like you have a solution for a "problem" you know very little about, Krazy.

It's only paranoid if it has no basis in the facts.

It is a fact that registration was the slippery slope for Hitler, Mao and several other governments. All guns were confiscated after registration.

Not silly at all.

So Gia you think this is all funny?

Did you think it was funny when 26 people, mostly children, were killed at Sandy Hook?

Do you think its funny when a 15 year old girl is shot/killed walking down the street with her friends?

Do you think its funny that a teenager gets pissed at this mom and takes a gun and not only kills her but all the other memebers of the family?

Do you think its funny that a man gets is upset at a law firm so he drives over 50 miles to their office and kills 9 people I think? This one I know about personally because it happened right across the street from my office and a good friend of mine knew the guy. Who he said would give the shirt off his back...

Sorry I don't see any humor in any of this. What I do see are bunch of parnaoid idiots who, for reasons unknown, are dictating meaningful gun control. And by doing so are leaving the door open for events like what happened at Sandy Hook to happen again and again. And that should be unacceptable but I guess its not.

So enjoy your little humor Gia while innocent people continue to die.

Give it up Gia. Krazy has demonstrated over and over again that she is 100% statist, wants no responsibility for her own actions, believes no one can ever do anything without Barack Obama holding their hands, that no one should ever have more money than she thinks they should have and it is the job of the government to confiscate anything and everything that she deems unacceptable. She abhors freedom and individuality and really truly believes criminals have rights and law abiding citizens do not. Well, except that she thinks that all gun owners are criminals, so I guess she thinks we are worse than Rapists and murders and child pornographers.

It's no use arguing with ignorance. Really.
