Great episode tonight! Have a question, though. I've missed bits and pieces each week, so this might have been addressed. What does Joe Carroll have over Olivia, the lawyer, that she still had to represent him and read the poem?

I was wondering the same thing but then at the end, in a flashback, it showed Hank paid Olivia a visit with cutters. Then it showed her taking notes and she has 2 missing fingers. She's afraid if him.

Eta I don't think she had been introduced before this episode.

This was the first episode with Olivia. She's deathly afraid of Joe.

Tonite's episode was nail-biting! Yowsza!

Thanks for the input! I saw the scissors and her fingers missing. Last night's episode was fabulous. Definitely a nail biter!

I still think the young detective, forget his name, he was the one running the traces on the phone...is one of the followers. And I also think the detective, the one who is supposed to be an expert on cults, is in on the whole thing too. Lat night they mentioned "getting rid of this mess", but it could be that they meant the way Joey called the mom. There was some issue of the phone & a computer virus and he couldn't trace it right away. Stalling tactic!

I thought that episode was great!! Except the part about the friendly neighbors. That was just sad.

I absolutely remain convinced that the young man detective is in on it. I will honestly be shocked if he isn't. I am not so sure about the lady expert on cults. I'm beginning to think she is not (whereas a few weeks ago I thought she was). It is so interesting watching this all unfold!

I'm glad I wait til the sun comes up to watch this show. It creeps and stresses me out.

I just have to wonder how they're going to resolve the house situation now. It seems like a no win situation.

Man, I love this show. I don't think the young guy is involved, if he were, wouldn't he have gotten a message to the people holding Joey that Kevin Bacon was closing in on them?

I hadn't given thought that the younger guy could be a follower. Could be! I'm anxiously watching this play out. Sad to see the neighbor couple killed. Looking forward to next week!

I'm on the fence about the young detective. One minute I think...yep he's in on it. The next minute...no, I don't think he is . I really don't want him to be because I really like him. I'm really curious to see how the house situation ends next week. I just don't see how they are going to work all of that out. They will have to introduce new followers because aren't most of them in the house?

I can't believe that they didn't leave the house MUCH faster than they did once they knew the neighbors recognized the boy AND saw them on the phone.

I had never considered the young detective to be part of the cult. I still don't think he is. And I don't think the woman detective is either -- I think they just wanted us to believe it.

Last night's episode was definitely intense! So sad that nice couple had to go. And that poor girl in the basement better make it out of there alive!

I need to watch the next day because I am hiding my head under the covers more than I am watching, but my DH watches it at night. I need to go to bed before he starts watching.

Loving this show, but I kinda wish it didn't scare the crap outta me, lol.

I knew as soon as they showed that couple, they were as good as dead.

I wish this was announced as a one-season show
from the get go. I love it but can't see it lasting
long-term with the same intensity.

If you like serial killer shows, then "Hannibal" starts in April 4th.

Hannibal is an upcoming American thriller television series currently in production at NBC. Developed for television by Bryan Fuller, the series is based on the series of novels by Thomas Harris and will focus on the budding relationship between FBI criminal profiler Will Graham and Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a forensic psychiatrist destined to become Graham's most cunning enemy. The series has received a 13 episode order for its first season and, unlike most network shows, any future seasons will also feature 13 episodes

Could be interesting...as long as it's not too over the top with the blood and gore (although hard to imagine it won't be!)

Didn't we say that about 24? And PB?

Somehow, the writers seem to find a way....

I adore this show! My husband says I scare him, but he is addicted also. I just hope it doesn't disappear. I also agree, I think we are supposed to be suspicious of everyone around. I think it is the leader, the "cult specialist", but there is something going on with the young guy, too....just not sure what.

I have always been fascinated by serial killers, and am truly surprised nothing like this has happened in real life...So excited a show like this is getting such a "following"...LOL
