This is my first box and I dont like anything in it. I know it's chancy that you may or may not like what you get. Everyone always seemed to get really nice stuff they really liked. I dont know if they are all the same but mine has fugly green nail polish, stinky perfume sample, some kind of lotion and a piece of candy...

I tried Birchbox for several months and felt it was not getting any better. I quit and started doing the Ipsy Glam bag. Much prefer that one to Birchbox.

I just received mine today, and it's the same as yours but my nail nail polish is a lovely red shade. I'm going to cancel mine because I enjoy glam bag (ipsy) more these days - I've loved it every month so far.

I haven't gotten my February box yet but I will probably cancel after I receive it.

I don't want anymore food items. The other samples have not been great. I'm on the waiting list for ipsy. Hope it's better.

Did you fill out your profile? My samples this month are (according to the website since I don't have the box yet) a ghiradelli chocolate square, jouer moisturizing tint, wei chrysanthemum eye pads, a twistband, and tigi catwalk styling cream.

This is my third box.

Box 1 had theBalm cosmetics Hot Mama Shadow & Blush All-in-One (liked), 12 Benefits Instant Healthy Hair Treatment (liked enough to buy full size and liked enough that I thought it made the whole box worth the price), Emily's Chocolates Chocolate Covered Fortune Cookies (not bad in concept but the cookie tasted stale); Sampar Ultra Hydrating Fluid (wanted to like because it's expensive but hated the smell); and Fresh Citron de Vigne Rollerball (super generous size, but I don't wear perfume.)

Box 2 was Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy (again, I don't wear perfume and obnoxiously, this is the same size I can get at Sephora for free); My Multi-Purpose Mattifying Moisturizer (meh); Frownies Eye Gels (liked okay, but I don't ever really do those spa type things; theBalm cosmetics Put a Lid On It (an eylid primer that, IMO, is not as good as Urban Decay's); and Frownies Rose Water Hydrator Spray (meh).

Aside from being annoyed by perfume samples, I have been... okay with the samples they've sent. I might not have liked most of them in the end but I've gotten enough things that I've wanted to at least try out. We'll see how I feel after a couple more boxes.

I have been with Birchbox for a year and am not renewing. It's so hit or miss. Sometimes they toss in a candy or energy bar - what the heck? Also, heavy on the perfume samples, which I do not like. I like MAKEUP AND SKINCARE! Don't want candy, energy bars or perfume!

I've done both Birchbox & Ipsy / My Glam for a few months and didn't end up feeling like either one was worth it.

I really want to like the sample box thing... I love the idea and I love trying new products. But, I've yet to find one that I love.

It's funny that you say that... I was actually ready to cancel Birchbox this month but I loved it, and will probably end up buying 3 of the items!

I had this "Beauty Protector" detangler, which made it SO easy to comb through my long, fine, straight hair. Usually I lose a bunch of hair, but this time less than 10.

I already use the Dr. Jart's premium, but I like the one they sent in this box just as much. If it's less expensive, I'll use it on days when I'm not in the sun.

And I think I might need the Twistband headbands too. (My other items were the chocolate and "nipple balm for lips." )

Ipsy this month left me "meh." I gave it all to my SIL, and I think I did the same last month.

Popsugar is my favorite! It's more expensive, but you get tons of stuff.

There's a few more I want to try someday, but I think 3 a month is good for now.

Here's a list I found, if anyone needs enabling. (Not my list for the record, found it while browsing the interwebs.) I think her links are affiliate links, for those opposed to that kind of thing:

Ramblings of a Suburban Mom

Maybe I'll cancel ipsy and try Glossybox or Testube.

Makeuptalk has some good reviews too, but they're hard to find. I think it's under "groups" not forums.

I've never done the birch box, but I've had Ipsy for a year. That I love.

I cancelled Birchbox after about 6 mos because I just didn't feel it was worth the money. I liked some of the samples, even loved a few, but I didn't like a lot of them. Also, if I liked the samples, I couldn't afford the regular size version. I mean, I could....if I took it out of grocery money or something. Fifty dollars or more for some of the items. Nope, out of my price range. I mean, it's makeup, you know??

ETA: I do like the actual boxes that the samples come in. They are great little drawer organizers.

I just got my 3rd birchbox and so far, I like it. I enjoy perfume samples so that has been fun and I've gotten some neat lotions and hair stuff. the "fugly" green nail polish graced my hands for a bit and I thought it was pretty cool-not something I would have necessarily chose myself but it was fun

so far it's worth it for me-I might check out the ipsy thing though.

I joined Ipsy. I think they had much more for the money. I also checked out Pop -sugar. You dont have to pay there, you get a full sized product to sample but you have to give a review o it.

I've never paid full price for a product I purchase from the website. I just review each item I get and save up my points until I've got a nice chunk of change to go shopping with. I think last time I ordered from them my total was around $80.00 but after using my Birchbox points I only paid about $20.00.

ETA: I just looked at the order I placed. I had $113.00 worth of product in my cart. I had a 3 month anniversary 20% discount and had $50.00 worth of points to use. Total cost to me ended up being $40.00 plus free shipping.
