Hey ladies,

I apologize for not starting a thread last week. I got so busy that it completely slipped my mind! I'll try not to be so slack from now on.

12 weeks here!!! I finally feel relief and like I can enjoy this pregnancy since I'm not worrying (as much) as I have been up until this point. I knew I had 4.5 weeks to go from my last appointment until my 12 week visit last Friday, and that just seemed like forever not knowing what was going on inside of me. So I had my 12 week appointment on Friday and.....I got to hear the little McNuggets heartbeat for the first time! At first she couldn't find the heartbeat and I was starting to get worried, as I could physically hear my own heart beat increasing in rate on the dopplar. Then the nursing assistent was like "oh, I heard it" which of course I didn't so I asked is this normal to take this long to find a heartbeat and she said completely normal. My little McNugget was moving around so much that she couldn't find him/her. After another 4-5 minutes of searching and me telling the baby to chill, she finally hit the sweet spot and I heard that blissful music to my ears. 166 bpm. Ahhh....

Up next, we elected to do the NT scan this week. Although it won't change anything about having this baby, it would allow us to be prepared if we needed to do so. Plus, it gives us a chance to see the baby again since the last time we saw him/her, just a little bean was visible. I have my scan Wed, so hopefully I'll have my first baby pics to share.

How is everyone doing? I know we have some other ladies getting closer and closer to the big day!

Hi ladies. I'm closing in on the finish line. I'm 39 weeks and 3 days. Saw dr today everything looks good. I still have not effaced at all or dilated past 1.5 cm. no progress for about a month. I went and walked through tons of stores over the weekend hoping to get things moving. But it didn't. Still hurting in my pelvis and back so I'm hoping I don't go much longer. That and the baby has been so active the last couple of days and it's getting painful. I made an appt tomsee dr on Monday but really hope it get to see him before then. if not I will probably have him start me.

My mom came last week. She lives out of state and was worried if she waited. Much longer there would be a storm and she would miss the birth so there has been a lot of waiting around here. But she's been helping me keep up on my housework and take of dd. so I'm not run so ragged. We are all getting pretty anxious to meet this baby.

Hope all of our pregnant peas are doing good.

Kimber

Hi ladies! 34 weeks & doing well. I have the worst insomnia, but other than that not much to complain about.

Starla, We did the NT test with our first & the Materni21 (however that's spelled) with this one and I freely admit it was mostly an excuse to see baby again. Sure we wanted the peace of mind, but seeing baby was a BIG factor.

Kimber, you are so close! Looks like this was a couple days ago. I wonder if baby is here?

So an update about my NT scan.....

Had the NT scan today about 2 hours ago. We elected to only do the scan, as that's the only thing they were sure our insurance would cover. Since having the blood tests won't change our mind about not terminating this pregnancy, we just wanted the scan (for now). He said he was 99% sure the baby was normal and healthy and that there is a less than 1% chance of Down's Syndrome based on the NT being 1.4. We also got a 95% certain answer on the sex of the baby.....BOY!! We aren't going to tell people yet, since we want to see the next ultrasound in 6 weeks just to make sure, although it would be hard to miss the "twig".

Getting excited for Kimber! It's getting so close!! Keep us up to date about your birth!

Starla, CONGRATS on your baby boy!!! My boys are sooooo much easier than my daughter! I'm not surprised that your insurance company would only cover the scan. I just got the EOB from our insurance company on our testing. The genetics place charged them $5,000 and they negotiated it down to $3,500. They weren't able to see the gender during the ultrasound, so I paid for the Jack & Jill bloodwork. We're having a girl! I'm still jogging around our neighborhood, but a lot slower. And I usually have to stop at the McDonald's by your house to go to the restroom! HA HA.

Scrappychica, I'm so glad that your mom was able to make it before any storms! That's great that she's able to help you around the house. I need my mom to come and help me declutter. She's ruthless and I'll hold on to anything that my kids have touched. HA HA. Prayers for a safe and easy delivery for you...and soon! Enjoy these last few days though!!!

finally-a-mama, I'm having the worst insomnia too. My doctor said I could take Unisom, but I haven't tried it yet. It is starting to drive me crazy!

Thanks Aggie!

We can still do the Maternti21 if we want at our next follow-up in 6 weeks. He said the max out of pocket we would pay if the insurance didn't cover it was $150, so we may think on it then decide. Since I'm only 32 and have no risk factors, insurance likely won't cover the genetic testing. Since he feels fairly confident that the baby is healthy and has no signs of Down's Syndrome, I'm not sure if paying for the test will provide more information.

Yea, it's much easier to spot a boy on a ultrasound than it is a girl. Congrats on your little girl on the way!

Just an update

Still no labor. Yesterday morning I had contractions for about an hour and tons of pressure in my back. But the contractions were irregular and stopped cuz I fell back to sleep. Feeling way tired and achy. Maybe we will get some action tomorrow. I'll be 40 weeks on Friday.
