There are apps that will let you print to a regular WiFi printer. Also any printer thats AirPrint-capable will work.

Search for the printers manuf name in the App Store. Some have apps that allow you to print on wifi non-air print printers.

Hmmm. My printer works. It's a HP SmartPhoto Premium. We bought it about two years ago.

I have a printer that has it's own email address; so, anything you can send as an email file attachment you can print. My daughter was so happy when we upgraded because now she can print from her iPad.

What kind of printer do you have? My Epson is a little older so it doesn't have the "air print" capability, but the Epson app allows me to print from my iPad and my iPhone.

Airprint is the term that Canon uses.
It's an Apple term that can be used my several printer manufacturers.

You have to go to HP's ePrint site and assign an email address to it.

I have an HP Envy that will print from an iPad. It has it's own email address as well so that I can email photos to it from anywhere and it will print. It's a rather clever machine.

Ok, mine sorta looks similar to this one hp store

but the screen is on the other side so I know its not this one EXACTLY.
The only thing we dislike about it is that it is loud. It sounds like a coffee grinder.

However, what everyone is saying about having an email address and everything sounds complicated. Because I've had the printer maybe a year or two and just got the ipad. I think maybe I answered 1 question and now I just hit print.

I know the printer does have an email address because it was hell on wheels to get the kindle fire to print. But its super easy w/ the ipad.

So the printer thing does have wifi and hp eprint.

I don't know. It is easy or else I may have struggled a tiny bit but there's nothing difficult. I just hit print.

And btw, that printer does suck up some ink. They get ya on the purchase of the printer so don't be fooled.
