We need to get a new dishwasher. We have a Maytag but it died and never really got the dishes clean anyway. We've been handwashing them for now but that's getting old. Any recommendations? I've been googling and reading tons of reviews of lots of different models, but after a while it gets overwhelming. Right now I'm looking at a Bosch, samsung, and whirlpool. Any suggestions? TIA

I got a Bosch about 18 months ago...do not like it....the wash cycle is very long, then it beeps for you to open the machine...then the dishes have to airdry...it has no heating coil.

GE Adora...don't know if they still make it. Works great. I had a Maytag before my GE and it really was disappointing. Just never got the dishes clean and the tub cracked after just two years. I got the stainless tub this time. The Kitchenaid Superba EQ has excellent ratings. Good luck with your search.

I love my KitchenAid....although it took me awhile to figure out that it works the best using Cascade Complete soap. It's very quiet.

You might want to dig out your owners manual. I have a Bosch - it has an optional end of cycle beep - you can turn it off, and I have as it's pretty obnoxious. There is also an option for air dry, but it absolutely has a heating coil. Obviously you could have a different model, but I'm just saying, you might want to double check.

I've had my Bosch for 5 years, and bought it after having one at a different house for 3 years. I love how quiet it is and it cleans well (although, I confess to being a pre-rinser despite my desire to change, so take that for what it's worth).

I just got a new Whirlpool. So far I like it a lot. Keep in mind that this replaces a POS one so the bar has been set pretty low
It's super quiet, and I like that the top drawer is deep so it fits my tall glasses and cups. I use the Finish tabs and everything comes out nice and clean!

Bosch. we like it a lot. The long cycle doesn't bother us.ours doesn't have a signal, or we haven't had to deal with it.
it's quiet, and cleans well..we knew it air dryed when we purchased it. saves energy!!

Here's another vote for Bosch. It's super quiet! We turned off the beep and like the no heat option.

I hate our Maytag almost as much as I hate their customer service.

I have this Frigidaire Professional and I love it. We bought it to match our refrigerator.
The cycle is a little long but it cleans wonderfully, is very quiet and super energy efficient.

Love my stainless steel KitchenAid. It has the controls hidden on the top, and has 3 racks. Everything comes out clean, heated drying, and you can't even hear it when it runs.

Another Bosch fan here. I love my Bosch dishwasher. I have the 800 series with the built in water softener. It's super quiet, very efficient. I use the half load cycle every morning after breakfast. It also has a 3rd rack for large utensils and knives. I really can't say enough, it's an awesome dishwasher.

About 10 years ago I got a Bosch and loved it. Then we moved and bought another Bosch. This one annoys me! It's hard to fit dishes in easily. The prongs to hold the plates are in an angle which makes it really difficult. My 9x13 baking dish just doesn't fit.

Regardless of what kind you get, I highly recommend taking a dish, a bowl, a glass, a mug, etc. to see how well it will load. I don't care how crazy I look - that's what I'll do the next time!

Kenmore but I didn't get it at Sears. LOL
It's stainless steel inside, has a heavyduty cycle and a 4hr delay that I love. It came with teflon racks rather than the weird rubber covered stuff that breaks down and rusts and the top one has 3 different positions so I can fit in my tall goblets and tupperware/rubbermaid stuff in.

Kitchenaid. The one with the blue, pot scrubber jets at the back. Best dishwasher ever. My DSO's parents have one too and they love it as well.

Love our new Bosch. Our last washer was just awful. We don't have any complaints. I don't think ours beeps. Dh must have turned it off. The long cycle doesn't bother me, but we only run a load a day if that.

We just got a Whirlpool (model number with 910 in it).So far, so good. We decided against the Bosch, which was top rated in Consumer Reports, because reviews from actual users were not favorable - the tines are too close together to get the dishes clean.

We have a Maytag with stainless interior, and I really like it. It doesn't get them perfectly dry, but it dries better than every other dw I've had.

The control panel died (I saw that mentioned in some reviews), but it was under warranty, and they came and replaced it with no problem.

We were on a very limited budget, and I am very happy with how it's worked out.

I always post about my fave ... It's a GE profile.
THe reason I LOVE it is because you can put a whole bottle of detergent into the door at once and it dispenses it for you.

You don't have to put the soap in every time!

Before that, I had Fisher and Peykal (sp?) dish drawers. They were CRAP! The dishes never got clean or dry. THey were a wet, dirty mess. AND it had a screen in the bottom that got food in it you had to clean out by hand!

What good it as dishwasher if you have to wash them before you put them in?!

My GE Profile is awesome, gets stuff clean and dry. I never rinse anything and it all comes out sparkly clean.

Did I mention, I don't have to put soap in it for each load???!!

Stainless steel kitchenaid. I had looked at the Bosch models, but was told the reason they're so quiet is they don't have food disposal/grinder parts in them. There is a filter that needs to be cleaned out that traps the bits. I found that totally and just wasn't wanting to do that so I spent less money on a kitchenaid. Had it eight years and going strong yet. My mom loved it so much when they were visiting she put one into her kitchen. If I am in the kitchen sitting at the table 5 feet away I can hear it running, but once I'm 10-15 feet away from it I can't hear it any longer.

I love my KitchenAid dishwasher. It has been fantastic! Still going strong after 18+ years of use. It is ran at least daily, if not twice. Sometimes it is even ran 3 to 4 times a day, if I'm cooking/baking all day.

I'll be so sad when I need to replace it.

I've been a very loyal Kitchen Aid customer for many years. Got talked into switching to a Maytag about 16 years ago and quickly replaced it with a Kitchen Aid. When I had this house built I never even considered a different brand.

We are with our second Whirlpool. The first one was 18 years old before it quit working.
