Would anyone tell me the symptoms of dry eye? I think that's what I have...but not sure. Do you just use something like Refresh and does it go away or will I have this forever?

I have chronic drys eyes. They seem to be worse in allergy season. If I don't stay on top of it I will get a form of conjunctivitis- so they are itchy and pink. They also feel like I have grits of sand. And they ache really bad. I do use an artificial tear( but make sure its the sterile kind-the one dose per tube are good) and an OTC I gel at night. I do have plugs in my tear ducts and my opthomolgist suggested a heated rice bag which is very soothing and helps bring moisture to the eyes.

By the way, I tried Restasis and it didn't work for me.

Thyroidism can also cause dry eyes. Once I started Rx mine eased up quite a bit.

You could try drops, but I suggest seeing an eye dr to be sure. Dry eyes can have lots of tears/running, but as another pea stated they are the wrong kind of tears. You might have 'crusty' eyes in the morning.
