L'Oreal Double Extend is my favorite. My dd likes the new L'Oreal Butterfly Mascara. Before that Double Extend was her favorite. Her lashes are thick but stubbier than mine. Mine are longer than her's but not as dense.

I think different mascaras work best for different folks.

I have thinish eyelashes and I tried the Double Extend on the recommendation of someone here. I love it. But I might try the Butterfly next time. Do you think it would work for thinish eyelashes?

Dd sent me a sample of one from Sephora," yes, they're real" or something like that. OMG. My lashes are so long with using it. I'll definitely by more.

L'Oreal Double Extend is my favorite.

Another vote for this. I've been using Double Extend for at least a couple years now and I'm happy with it.

Another vote for the L'Oreal Double Extend. Plus, it's a tube mascara, so no smudges.

yes, they're real

I have that and love it too. I wear it for special ocassions or date nights...it doesn't come off as easily for me as the Double Extend.

I have and love Dior Show, but can get smudges with that (I have oily skin.)

I have and don't wear Two Faced Better Than False Lashes. Love how it looks. But, it's a three step process: layer of mascara, layer of dry fibers that brush on and then another layer of mascara. The fibers irritate the heck out of my eyes (I don't wear contacts). It looks great once my eyes stop watering.

Sephora has a nice set of mascaras right now (one of their holiday sets). Makes it easy to try a variety to see which works best for you.

It just got the "they're Real" and like it. But for drugstore finds, I got the L'Oreal million lashes excess (red tube) and I really like it

Benefit Cosmetics " They're Real" is by far the best mascara. You can buy it at Sephora or Ulta.

Another vote for L'Oreal Double Extend. Love this stuff and have been using it since it first came out.

I do not, however, use the white part of the application. Instead, I use another mascara for volume. Tarte's Lights, Camera, Lashes or my new favorite - Elizabeth Mott's It's So Big.

I get the volume/separation with one of those mascaras and then add length with the Double Extend. Took a long time and a lot of mascara experimentation to finally zero in on what works best for me, and this is it. YMMV.

Ain't that the truth. I have wasted hundreds of pounds on different recommended mascaras but I'm rarely happy with them. They 'all' end up on the skin under my eyes, expensive or cheap, regardless.

The only one that works for me so far is a cheap Boots brand.

I love Blinc mascara. It is the original tube mascara and you can get it at Sephora. I buy this over and over again when I run out-I won't wear anything else.

It forms tiny tubes over your lashes and really increases the lengths of each lash-plus it looks very natural. Like you only better! I hate that fiber fake looking of some mascaras. It comes off easily with just water and a little rubbing, but stays on until you want to take it off.

It is great for contact lens wearers because there are no tiny fibers to get in the way.

'They're real' is horrible on me- in fact my daughter gave it to me out of a gift box because she had tried it in the past and she also hated it.

My current favourite is the Clinique bottom lash mascara which I use top and bottom. It really lengthens my lashes but is also smudge proof on me and reasonably easy to get off with Liz Earle cleanse and polish.

I've also been using the Blinc tube mascara for years. It stays put until you want it to come off -- and then it comes off easily with running water.

I get it at Sephora.

I have very light, fine lashes and I've had the best luck with Bobbi Brown Intensifying Long Wear mascara. It has a tiny brush, and the formula doesn't clump at all.

For a drugstore brand, I like Neutrogena Healthy Volume.

Latisse. Buy it during their 2 for 1 sale and then DO NOT use their stupid brushes. They absorb more than you use and its wasted. Use the scoop side of the Japanese Q-tips. One drop in the scoopy end and run it along your lash line. Ends up being as cheap as mascara this way. You can buy them at the Japanese dollar stores or online.

Don't let the 'eye color change' thing, my Ophthalmologist said he has NEVER seen that and has given out thousands scripts for it to be put directly in the eye for glaucoma.

ETA: amazon search: "Ear pick head cotton buds" and they're there. They have a pic of a Q-tip with a smile on the pkg.

I hate paying premium money for mascara because I feel there are so many good drug store options. I too got the sample of "They're Real" though and LOVED it. The brush is amazing. Anyone know a drug store priced mascara with a similar brush?

At the drug store I love Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black. Drug store priced but found at Ulta, I'm quite fond of the "I Love Extreme Crazy Volume" from Essence.

I tried the Butterlfy and I don't hate it, but don't love it.

Wearing Kiko Ultra Tech at the moment. I really like it but the Benefit one is on my list to try next.

I chop and change mascara like most people change they're socks and definitely think you don't always get what you pay for - one the worst I ever had was a Chanel one.

I'm the outlier who can't stand They're Real. It is terrible on my lashes. It smudges and flakes and irritates my eyes. However, I do love Benefit's BADgal Lash and have used that for a long time.

Most recently, I tried L'Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions and I'm very happy with it. I'd definitely recommend it and it's a nice bonus that it's half the price of BADgal Lash.

I use Clinique's Power Lash mascara. And the one thing I love about it is that it doesn't smudge but it comes off in the shower with just hot water. No raccoon eyes, it like slides off. But I wish I could find a mascara that comes off like that but would plump up my lashes a little bit. I'm reluctant to switch because I don't want a mascara that's a PITA to remove.

Here's a question for all of you mascara-using Peas: Lately some lashes in the corners of my eyes (outside corner) seems to be broken. Do they grow back? I'm wondering if it's the mascara or the makeup remover pads I'm using that are breaking them, but it's disconcerting when I go to apply mascara, and there are barely any lashes there. Ugh!

I have sparse, short lashes and was never happy with mascara, even the pricier ones.

I recently tried Maybelline's The Rocket Volume Express and love it! It was so inexpensive, but really makes a difference on my lashes. They have never looked this long before.

My two favorite have been Double Extend and CG Lash Blast in the orange tube. I don't think that Double Extend adds any length and I don't like how the CG flaked and bothered my eyes so I combined the two and now I really like them both. I put the Double Extend on first (not using the white side, only the red side) then add the CG on top of that. It doesn't flake or smear at all (even with exercising) and I have some length and volume.

ETA: a very important criteria for my mascara is that it must come off with soap and water and both of these mascaras do.

Diorshow. It's sleep proof, contact proof, smudge proof, cry proof, and comes off with the Boots sensitive skin face wipes I use.

I do love the Clinic lower lashes--it's the brush, more than the formula. I've been considering buying some of the cheap mascaras for the different brushes.

I have the formula that works well for me, but the different types of brushes gives my eyelashes a different look.

I've also noticed in public more and more girls and women wearing fake lashes. They look amazingly full then I notice they're fake. I have gorgeous lashes, I'm not risking tearing out my real lashes for fakes, even if it does make me look like a 36 year old Disney Princess.

I was trying to show a friend of mine the difference the Younique mascara made on my lashes, so I took a picture. It's amazing, really.

This is me with and without the Younique mascara.
