How long is it taking these days to renew a passport? My kid's passports are expired, and we need new ones for the first of the year. We are heading down tomorrow to do that, but wondered if anyone had recently done renewals, and how long it took?

We renewed three weeks ago and they are in the mail being returned now. The official word is four to six weeks.

I did an expedited renewal last month. Expected it to take 2 weeks, and I had it back in 1.
