After 36 years I finally cooked my first thanksgiving at home for my husband and (almost) 2 year old. Starting some traditions. We usually go to my parents but my sister is in Scotland and my parents and brother went over to an aunt's house. I loved it!

We'll have Thanksgiving Part II on saturday with my family since my mom can't completely pass up cooking the dinner. She loves it.

But next year I might want to do this again! Less stress...and I liked not having to go out of the house.

I've always travelled to see my parents in MA and cooked a meal for tons of people. I just couldn't do it this year and we made the decision to stay in CA and have dinner at home. It's the first time in my life not eating/cooking elseware and I can't believe how wonderfully relaxing it's been.

I miss my family and the loud, busy Thanksgivings I'm used to, but it's so nice to just be home with DH and my sons.

I hope you're enjoying the holiday and your new tradition

We had our first Thanksgiving at home today, too! It was the best Thanksgiving EVER!!

My SO cooked dinner and we at about 2. Then we lounged around and watched America's Funniest Home Videos on tv for a bit and after that we played a very action packed game of Spongebob Monopoly. We had planned on my dad being here, but he had to work at the last minute.

If I have my way, Christmas will be like this, too.

Though this isn't SO and I's first Thanksgiving together, it is the first real Thanksgiving where I have cooked the whole spread. It was nice and I think next year should be even better.
