Hi everyone, hope you all had a good week! I had a horrible week at work, so I used a lot of my down time to relax and stitch. I finished the letter A I was working on yesterday afternoon, and let my daughter choose the next letter and color, since they are going to be for her friends. I'm working on a T now, in a pretty shade of dark blue by Weeks called Michael's Navy. I had originally thought I would have 9 letters to stitch, but turns out I need to do 12!!!!
Happy stitching, everyone! Please share your progress and pictures anytime!

~Tasha

I never got around to taking pictures last week, so I did it first thing today!

First, I started a new AAN design a couple of weeks ago. It'a another one of her fantastic stylized trees. Here is what I've gotten done on it so far:

And I have been working a lot on Liza's Bouquet. Here is what it looked like last time:

And here is how it looks as of this morning:

I am going to take a break from the Coast Guard emblem that I have been working on. Hopefully a break is what I need. On to another kit.

The Easter bunny came early. I was given a tote full of cross stitch supplies.

I am working away on the "Row of Love" teddy bear cross stitch. I probably have another few weeks to finish the cross stitches. Then I can work on the backstitching, and be done
I am so looking forward to getting it framed and hanging it on the wall.

I finished my peg board rose and am currently teaching my 15 year old son to cross stitch (he enjoyed helping with the pegboard). He Is working on a silhouette of a deer head. I'm currently trying to decide what to work on next and spending a ridiculous amount of time just staring at my peg board rose :0p

Scrapbrat those both look great! And make me think I need to work on linen again soon.

Here's my progress on Voyage. This is 5 days work - very happy with how it's turning out.

I went from 3 WIPs to 4! LOL

I took a long break from stitching... about a month, while my DH and I, along with my parents, planned our wedding celebration party. We got married in October and my parents wanted to throw us a bash.

Anyhoo, getting back into the swing and trying to remember where I am with everything.

Still working on "Beachy Mood" although I haven't touched it since before March other than to check it out and get a feel for where I am. I am still struggling with the linen and being able to see it well so I am more limited as to when I can work on it.

Still working my Mill Hill "Joy to the World" kit. Honestly though, I am disliking working on it more and more. The thread colors are worked in one and two stitches, then skips to other colors. It looks lovely in the finished picture, but I am struggling with the close up where all the colors are jumbled together. I may not even finish it, and I am definitely going to sell my other 3 Mill Hill kits in the same series.

I started a simple "O Christmas Tree" pattern with the hopes of finishing it by Christmas for my in laws. But I goofed, and had to start over. I always, always start my new WIPs in the middle of the fabric (it was the way I was taught) and this time I tried to start in the corner. Despite enormous amounts of measuring, measuring, I still goofed and it was obvious I was going to come up short. At least I realized it early. So it is moving along again.

I joined the Prim Stitchers group on FB (I love samplers and ye old timey stitching reproductions) and I started a freebie from Nan Lewis off her Threadwork Primitive site:

Super simple... I plan to personalize it with our initials and wedding year, and then finish it as a throw pillow for our bed. I needed something that would move quickly since I have been on break and having some frustrations with some projects.

The pirate ship is so cute! Love the colors.

Lisa, I can't see your pic because of the computer I'm on, but I'll check back later. I feel your pain on the Christmas tree thing -- I always start in the center, as well. If I am doing something with a border, I'll start in the left corner, but I don't measure, I will oount up and out from the center 5 or 6 times to be sure I have it right. I'm always afraid if I measure that I will goof something up.

Great progress and projects everyone!

I've been sick off and on for the last 3 weeks, so haven't gotten too far. I have finished 4 of the 9 back stitching colors. But the sad thing is there really isn't much back stitching on this project. I fear the progress that I have made won't really show in pictures, so I'll wait to post once I'm completely done.

I hope to be feeling better soon and start getting this project knocked out!

Brandi

I'm still working on my T, it's coming along nicely. The great thing about these letters is the repetition and the amount of lines that are the same, so I can just stitch along without frequent stops to count and change colors. I have to sew part of the top of the T, and then I'll be done with this one and moving on to the next!

Love the colors on the pirate ship!

Got a bit discouraged last weekend. I'm sure I've mentioned before I was working on a piece for my cousins wedding. I decided I wanted her input seeing it is something that would be hanging in their home. I showed her the 2 items I was considering (L&L The Wedding and Mirabilias The Kiss) Well she fell in love with the L&L, which I was happy about because I am actually almost done with it after 10 yrs

Well she said she wanted to speak to her fiancé. He liked the Mirabilia better, which I was completely fine with, but decided that neither would hang in their home.

I talked to my cousin a bit more and was decided I would find something small, as he would like an Established in type of piece.

I will respect their, well his, wishes and do the smaller piece. It would have been a pretty good chunk of $$ to frame this for them, but I so wanted to do that. I decided I will do the smaller and not spend the $$ on someone who obviously doesn't understand the time and love that went into something that big.

I'm leaning towards a Lizzie Kate and just changing it to the established in.

But I would also like to do a wedding sampler for them. I used to have Bent Creeks Wedding Row, but can't find it. And of course it looks like it's no longer in print.

Well now that I wrote a book - My heart just hasn't been into picking up my stitching the last week. Thinking I need to finish this piece and choose something new as it's been a WIP for long enough now.

Wow, JamieMN, I would be discouraged, too! At least you found out his feelings before you spent a boatload of moeny framing a gorgeous piece for them. Maybe you could do a wedding piece and make it into a pillow, like Lisa in TX said she is doing? I really love that idea, because most people have a few toss pillows on the bed and it would be special, decorative, but also useable remembrance.
