I just got home and turned the TV on enough to hear Dr. Phil praising Amy and the restaurant. Would love to hear the whole scoop. I saw them on Kitchen Nightmares last year and figured they had gone under.

I'm curious what he was praising them for. Maybe for providing entertainment?

Wash: "A man walks down the street in that hat, people know he's not afraid of anything."
Jayne: "Damn straight."

I watched it. He was praising them for catering a big dinner for his evening staff. Apparently, the food was raved about by the staff.

As for the rest, it went pretty much as you'd expect.

Well they have done a 'new' show with Gordon Ramsey (this friday ), maybe he is praising them for not giving up?

* the 'new' is in quotes because there is unseen footage from the last time and he also goes back. The previews do not let on how much is unseen footage from last time and how much is from the 'new' visit. Either way well probably watch that on friday.

I wonder if it is like the cakes she had in her restaurant that she claimed to have baked but most employees tell gordon no she did not. Of if maybe after Gordon's second visit she actually listened and got it right?

It is clear, no matter how crazy she is and controlling her husband was, that she actually loved to cook, so it would be nice if she could take advice and learn and realize her dream.

I thought Samy was supposed to be deported. Hopefully he will take Amy with him.

I watched it - almost til the end.
DR. Phil was not praising them or defending them - he even had a PR consultant explain to them about how they shouldn't engage and agitate their critics etc...
He did say a bad restaurant experience didn't warrant the death threats etc they received though). He had a customer that complained on yelp there as well. He showed the clips from the original kitchen nightmares.

He did thank them for the meal they prepared for his staff and said the food was good. He did not defend their behavior and I felt like he kind of gave up on getting them to see what they have done wrong, but I don't know since I gave up watching after the PR guy wasn't getting through to them.

I don't see them changing at all. Especially after Amy explains how in other countries its perfectly normal to fight with customers and scream. I think she said "In Israel" but I can't remember for sure. Dr Phil said he has had good food and bad food never had a restaurant owner tell him they were to kick his ass for not liking the food like these two told a customer

Well now I want to see the whole episode. Like I said, I only saw the last 30 seconds and he was saying nice things and they were beaming. Is Dr. Phil online?

FYI for anyone looking to tape Friday's Kitchen Nightmares episode- it's not on the Food Network or the Cooking Channel. I found it one three different stations- a local, non-cable channel, BBCA, and another one I forget.

I watch Dr Phil on youtube, but I always have to wait a couple of weeks for the new episodes.

It's not the passage of time that heals. It's what you do with that time.

I went to Dr. Phil's website and the April 9 episode is already available, so I am going to watch it when I get home. Kitchen Nightmares is on FOX here, and I have set an alert to remind me to watch it. I love a good train wreck.

I watched the whole thing. I think they may both be a little unhinged but a few things were brought to light. One thing that really bothers me is the way they are being bullied online. The Dr. Phil staff reached out to the cyber-bullies who were sending death threats and saying Amy should be raped and beaten. He invited them to the show. Only one responded and he just gave a review about the poor service. He did not give a death threat or complain about the food.

What bothers me most about the whole thing is that there is no way all the people who write terrible things have been to the restuarant. They do feel compelled to say terrible things and bully this couple online. From what I understand, the food is good. The service is adequate. The owners are nuts. In and of itself, that is not a reason to cyber-bully. They are the victims in that respect.

Sadly, they just don't seem to understand that if they stop responding to the comments and reviews and phone calls, all of these things will eventually stop. Dr. Phil tried to get that across to them but it seems the advice fell on deaf ears.

It was an interesting show.
