Big thank you to Lori Z for choosing me as the winner of the Sept Portrait Challenge!!! Very honored!

The theme of this month's Portrait challenge is PROPS! The photo must include at least one subject (human or animal is A-ok) where a prop plays a roll in the shot. Naturally, with Halloween this month I figured that costumes/pumpkins, etc would be front and center.

Good Luck

Here are the Rules:
1. Post your photo to this thread by Oct 31, 2012.

2. Indicate in your post if you want CC or not. If you do want CC, to keep the thread from becoming unmanageable - in case a lot of people play - Please put a link to where the photo can be found and comments can be made in addition to including your photo in this thread. You can use a blog here on 2 peas, your own personal blog, another thread, your choice. But you want people to be able to come here and click to give you cc. Also, if you are asking for CC, be sure to include information like your settings, whether you shot raw, and an SOOC photo and maybe even a pull-back so we can understand your set-up. If you don't want CC, just your photo for us to look at is great.

3. In this thread you can comment on photos, but not cc - don't want to curtail your "Wow" and ooohing and ahhing for each other. Might even get a "how'd you do that" from time to time, which is great because the point is to learn and improve.

4. Please take the time to give CC to those who want it, and respect the wishes of those who are not ready for that, or who just are passing on it this time.

5. On November 1 (or close there to if life gets a hold of me and knocks me down) I will post a "winner" along with a pea mail to the winner. That person needs to post the theme for Nov. by the 5th and pick a winner for the month and then that winner will do Nov. Hope that is clear, but it can be perpetual for as long as people are interested in doing this challenge.

6. Only restriction on future assignments is it has to be something everyone can do without regard to lighting equipment. So no assignments calling for a particular lighting effect that requires some special equipment. Us natural lighting folks want to be able to play without investing money when it isn't in the budget.

7. You can play any time you want, skip a month - unless it was your month to pick a theme - jump in and out, whatever. Point is to have fun and to have a reason to get your camera out and work on those portrait skills.

**Thanks for taking the time to submit some entries. It was a close call but I've chosen Tracy's photo of the little girl with the leaves as the winner.

Can't wait to see how Tracy challenges us in November!!**

I don't do a lot of portraits, but I did a photo shoot last week for my friend. Her dog earned an AKC agility championship, so we included the ribbon and "bar" that they earned.

Excellent! thanks for posting. I hope this gives others ideas for this month, it doesn't have to be a prop on the face!

I'm not sure if this one qualifies but I was trying to use the leaves as props for pictures of my niece. Anything else I had brought she would throw to the ground and wanted to play in the leaves!

Love the leaves!!!!! Fall really is the best time of year!

I got my daughter to pose yesterday in her Halloween costume (she is a tourist... ha... very clever since we have traveled so much this year and she has gathered many props to use as part of her costume. I'm calling it the most expensive free costume ever!)

I don't think this picture is that great, but I love the look on my son's face. He looks so serious and grown up! LOL I just told him to hold out the football and give me some attitude. This is shot w/ the Nikon kit lens

Baby shoes are so yummy! Love it.

I have loved everyones photos. The sweet little one and the leaves, the doggy and his "mom", the Halloween costumes, I love them all!

last day to submit for this challenge... I'd love to see some more entries. I live in Eastern Europe but will make sure to keep the contest open until it's Nov 1 for our readers on the west coast. I will announce a winner tomorrow.
