I have a laptop that I thought had a virus/windows problems on it. I took it to best buy because I purchsed geek squad protection on it. They called me told me I had virus/software problems, etc. So today I go and pick it up and I was given a box with an old hard drive in it, MY old hard drive!! Which has my activated version of Photoshop CS on it!!!! I have tried installing it reinstalling it and I get the same error message:

Your Adobe Photoshop user name, organization, or serial numer is missing or invalid. The application cannot continue and must now exit. I chatted with Adobe but it was useless. They told me to call back. During the daytime; serioulsy do people with kids not know how hard that is?

Has anyone had anything like this? What will adobe do for me? I am in major panic mode!!

With an available user code on your product, I am surprised that Adobe just told you to call back without resolving the problem. Did you purchase an on-line download or a boxed Photoshop? (not really sure if that makes a difference in efficiency in getting the code cleared to re-install --- but maybe??) Perhaps you could have the Geek Squad contact Adobe with you to discuss the situation and get the code cleared to re-install. Sorry you are having this problem.

Okay.....after hours and hours of searching I found a solution. I am doing this from memory as it is now installed & I don't want to mess it up. I believe you right click open, and then that will allow you to view the files on the disk, then again right click open on the EXC file and then click on the compbaility tab and change it to run in Windows XP service pack2. Click apply and ok. and then run as admin. I did this and now I am not getting any error messages!!!!!!

I think a photography class should be a requirement in all educational programs because it makes you see the world rather than just look at it.

I finally got it. It was super frustrating! Hopefully I don't have any other computer issues. So annoying that a computer I purchased in June is giving my SO many problems. I almost went with a MAC but I do my husbands farm bookkeeping and have to use software supplied by our accountant and I didn't see where it was MAC compabitable.
