I am looking for ideas, but looking for ideas $100 and under (which can be tough when it comes to camera equip). |

For the under $100: I am wanting to add to my reference library.
This is the current "want" This is Strobist Info by Dustin Diaz
I'd also like some gels and light modifiers for my lights.
Over $100... toss up between radio poppers and pocket wizards (remotes for operating studio lights and flashes) |

In the $100 range I would like a light set up (stand, softbox) for using my flash off camera. Also a trigger and receiver of some source to fire it.
In the over $100 range, I would love to get a Canon 100mm macro 2.8 lens. I would love the L version but would be happy with the non-L.

I got my Christmas gift from DH in August (a new lens that I wanted in time for a workshop). And I've been on a photography buying spree lately, with three (!) new lenses (the Nikon 35mm 1.8, Rokinon 8mm fisheye and the Nikon 10-24mm), so I think I'm good for now.
But maybe not. I'm thinking of upgrading to the D7000 as there's a decent Black Friday sale on it, and I'll sell my D5100 but I haven't decided if I should do that or not.
My wishlist still has a few photography books, some sort of table top studio/softbox (as I'm getting into stock photography), and a 100mm macro lens, but all that can wait. |

@ LeAnne, research before you buy because your Nikon D90 is not much diff than your upgrade... I had the Nikon d80 and bought the D90 three years later and I wish so bad I would have went more than one step up... I am ready for the Nikon D 600.... Just my opinion but that camera is not much diff than your 90... I shot my friends... |

It is my desire to learn more about photography everyday.
I think a photography class should be a requirement in all educational programs because it makes you see the world rather than just look at it. | |

What I really want is an upgrade to the D300s - but that is an unknown product from what I understand - Nikon is pushing full frame.
For what I shoot, the D600, 700 and 800 are more than I need - also heavier than I want.
I know it is not a huge upgrade - but better high ISO for shooting marching band at night (for fun, not pay) and more focus points (for pay, not fun) are most of what I'd get. The D90 would be my studio camera.....
Just an idea... I have been waiting on a D300 upgrade for ages! I might look at the 600, but my dad has a D700 I could get cheap too!
