Possibly a gift idea for MYSELF! What would you suggest? I have been dabbling in photography for a couple of years and am excited about getting my 3rd lens, but not sure what direction to take.
Will be used for team pictures for baseball and family group shots, mostly. Thanks!

I have two wide angle lenses.
Nikon 10-24mm: Love this, but it's pricey at ~$800. I use this for landscape and travel photography.
Rokinon 8mm fisheye: Absolutely adore this! It's a cheap fisheye but very sharp. I have so much fun with this lens. Again, it's used for travel and landscape photography, and "portraits" where I am trying to make a funny shot.
Keep in mind that if you're using a wide angle for group shots, those people at the edge of your photos will suffer from distortion and might not like the photo...
Can you hear me now???

I just purchased a sigma 17-50mm 2.8 lens on amazon from amazon warehouse. I ABSOLUTELY love it! It retails right now for 619.00 but I paid 497.00 due to it being from the warehouse and once opened. I shoot with a d7000 which to my understanding it is very similar to the d90 and the lens feels right at home. I was also told this lens holds its value so if you ever switch to a full frame and upgrade you can just sell it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B003A6NU3U/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used here is a link to it on amazon. I'm excited for you. Buying a new lens brings on a new thrill and passion! I youtubed reviews before I bought it and I feel like I made a good choice.
