I googled and got this number, 866.443.8002
looks like they allow you to trade in your old camera for a refurbished body that is currently in stock, at a discount of 20% off the refurb price.

I called them not long ago.
They told me that the camera that is being traded IN must be out of warranty AND broken. The program is not for "voluntary" upgrades.
Hope that helps.

That's how I purchased my 7D. I didn't have a camera to send for trade so I asked Canon if I could buy a broken camera, on Ebay, and trade that one in. He said that Canon didn't care as long as it was a broken camera. I bought a broken Canon film camera for $9.00, on Ebay, and used that for my trade in. |

The 60D I just purchased is a refurbished model.
I have not had a chance to use it that much yet but so far I have seen nothing that would indicate a problem.
I have bought refurbished laptops in the past as well and have had no problems whatsoever.
You need to keep in mind that refurbs do not come with a 1 year warranty. Depending on the item, I purchase an extended warranty for peace of mind. |
