I can't leave a comment now Pat cause I deleted my blog.. I felt like I was paying more attention to it than getting out and shooting and then It was all about posting one a day instead of really taking time on the shots... I dont want you to quit posting ice pics I LOVE your pics!!! Great captures! |

I'm up.
Daily Photo Blog
Jennifer, I hear you on the stress that the need to post a daily picture can cause and how it can influence the way you take shots. I've felt some of the same.
I think I decided to deal with it by not holding myself to post today's picture, today.
Somedays I get a few shots that I quite like, other days I am stuck at home with nothing much to photograph or, what I try that day doesn't really work out, and I have nothing I want to share.
So I've decided that I will try to post something everyday, but it may not always be the most recent photos, I may go back and post something from a week or two ago that I like but didn't post yet. And I will still try to use my camera everyday but I won't always post those pictures if they are bad or just boring. Not sure if that is in the pure spirit of a photo a day but it is my way of encouraging myself to use my camera daily but reduce the stress of feeling that I have to post something from all those less than satisfactory sessions. | |

Jennifer--I understand the pressure you can feel at needing to have a "fresh" photo every day. I look at it as the Photo of the Day is the photo (or photos) I post, not necessarily that they were taken that day. The entire series of ice photos were all taken the same day, but I spread out the posts. And, like Nicki was saying, sometimes there are things in life that are more important than getting out to take a photo. Come back when you can; I enjoy your blog and seeing what you are seeing! |
