I told some of you about my dad buying me the macro lens(NIKON 105 mm F 2.8) but I want to tell othersSo my 60 year old dad collects and races H.O.slot cars . He will pay for them from anyone and everyone if he finds them. Lots of people do not know what this is. Kinda like the trains people collect and race around a track only its cars and I mean cars...lol
He has about 200,000 dollars worth of them and 4 tracks.
So, He said Jen if you shoot my cars (all of them) I will buy you the macro lens, well being the nice daughter that I am I was hooked. We are on limited income with my husband Disabled.. So I am on car 4,440 I think and we are almost done. I am excited to spend time with my dad and also learn what"s been so much a part of his life for years...
Thanks for letting me share my story.. Have a blessed day.. Jen

I think a photography class should be a requirement in all educational programs because it makes you see the world rather than just look at it.

Ehat a sweet thing for you dad to do! I know you will love that lens; that's the macro I have, and I can't imagine being without it.

Very cool project with your Dad! Would love to see a couple of the trains too, though the pics you posted are lovely.

I'm just dipping my toes into macro, it really opens up a wide range of options. Maybe I'll post a couple of the ones I've done...I'm testing the use of extension tubes which effectively drops the f-stop to 0. Really interesting results there, lol.

I really enjoyed the story that went along with these images.
What a wonderful thing for your dad to do for you. I'm sure it brought to two of you closer in the process.

Can't wait to see more of your images, a macro lens is on my wish list as well.

HHCC always welcome & appreciated !!

So you tell this great story about your dad, his cars, and your new lens. But no pictures of said cars? Do you not know 2Peas rules?

Great strawberry shots. Especially the last one. I love my macro, but I don't get enough time to play with it. It's a 2013 goal.

I am speechless with these photographs! Your camera did a good job! Thanks for sharing your stories! It surely inspires others to be good at photography as well, but of course, they need to have an incredible camera as yours.

Thanks for all the kind words The reason I don't have the slot cars is because he bought his own SD cards to put them on and we just shoot when I am there. I will take one and let you guys see it It is a huge deal with several people in Indiana and they travel now and have races Dad went to Cali for the first time and raced... So neat... Thanks again peas you guys are the best!!!

I also have that lens and LOVE it! It's amazing what you see when you get "up close and personal".

The strawberries look delicious, but where are the cars??
