Hi everyone - I am a Sony girl (love that Translucent Lens Technology!) and am hoping there are some others on the boards that use Sony too. I am moving up from my a33 to the a77 this week and would love to chat with some others who have used some of the newer alpha line of cameras.

I have a sony alpha 100 which I've owned for several years and was planning to upgrade to the alpha 77 when it first came out, a year or so ago but then, the floods hit Thailand and the a77 was not available for several months.
During that time I rethought my situation and decided to jump ship to the Canon 5D MK2 . I'm happy with my choice but I still wonder what the a77 would have been like. When you have the a77 and use it a bit I'd love to hear your feelings on it.

You. Will. LOVE. It.
I shoot the A77. It's heavy...solid. This could be a negative for some, but doesn't bother me. The viewfinder is amazingly bright. The photographs I have taken since getting this camera last summer still startle me. It's like, "Wow! Did I take that?" sometimes! I upgraded from the A350, which I am keeping as a backup, and there is just no comparison. The 350 is a good camera, but the 77 simply blows it out of the water.
What's in my JoTote:

I think a photography class should be a requirement in all educational programs because it makes you see the world rather than just look at it.

I just got a Sony NEX 6 for Christmas. So far so good. There's so much to learn. Before the Sony I had a point & shoot.

|Posted: 4/4/2013 10:21:35 PM|I have been drooling over the a99,, but I will have to settle for the a77 since it is a pleasure camera only for me. I loved my a33 - I had wanted the a55 but they were unavailable and were not expected to be in stock for several months when I bought mine in January '11.
I did read the weight on the a77 - but I am not bothered by it. It is only a little heavier than the a33. I can't wait to get my hands on it - have been wanting it for a while and finally saved up my money
thanks for your input - Being a Sony user is lonely sometimes !
