Hi Peas! I could use some help. I am looking to rent a lens for the holidays. I don't have enough room for the 50 inside to capture the children and grandchildren opening gifts. I do not have an external flash either. What would you suggest? Thanks.

From the back of the auditorium;200mm f2.0 2x Teleconverter auto iso. MONOPOD (Very Important in my opinion) I took this...............f5.0 @160 iso 2500. BTW the 8-15 works on crop camera bodies.

Amazing shot Robert. Thanks for the reply. I guess I am looking for something wide angle zoom that I can use in a tight space.

Jennifer~
I think a photography class should be a requirement in all educational programs because it makes you see the world rather than just look at it.

Jane you have the Canon 28 - 135 see if you like it at the 28mm. Not as fast as the 2.8 I think yours is 3.5 at 28 mm but it would give you an idea of that range. The real wide lens you may see some distortion. You can fix it in processing but just something to consider. You might also like the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L. Great lens and because its a fixed lens you can get 2.8 through the 24 to 70 mm.

Thanks Jackie, I have rented that one before and really liked it. I used it outdoors. I didn't get a chance to use it in our house during the winter months. I have upgraded to the 70d and gave my daughter the 30d and 28-135 lens.

Depending on your room size, since you are using a crop sensor, I would also look at the 17-55 2.8.

Glad I could help
I found 24mm not wide enough for indoors, especially around the holidays when you want to be near what is going on. Merry Christmas!
