Hi,

I'm trying to stroke a path in Photoshop CS6 and while I can stroke it by right clicking if I try to use the Edit>stoke menu Photoshop tells me 'Could not stroke the layer because there is nothing to stroke"

What am I doing wrong?

Without seeing your file no real idea but is it possible that you accidentally have another layer or possible a mask selected while you are trying to do this? I just know that sometimes when I try to do something and it won't let me it is because I have somehow accidentally selected a different area than the one I am trying to work on.

Thank you for your reply. I don't have anything else selected and there's only one layer with nothing on it except a path.

Drawing a circle is the first step in a 20 step process and I can't get beyond step one!

To add a stroke you have to add a new layer. Just hit duplicate layer then you will be ok. Then flatten if you want after.
