Can anyone tell me what is the best type paper and weight that works best for the watercolor background done with the distress inkpad? I tried cardstock and it does buckle up some. Also, I ended up with ink stained fingers! Do you all wear gloves while doing this? Thank for any help.

Did you see Jennifer's Distress Ink classes?
Here's a thread with links:

Sometimes I use watercolor paper, sometimes thick copy paper.
After letting it dry, you can put the paper under a pile of books or so to flatten it.
I never use gloves

Ink-stained fingers can be cleaned with shampoo and a sponge with the scrubby side.

I normally use thick white cardstock (300gsm)
It does buckle, but I just iron it after it is mostly dry and then put it under a heavy book. I don't bother with getting out the ironing board etc.- I just use a thick corkmat and a piece of chipboard on top of that to iron it on.

You could try watercolor paper, but it will alter the technique you need a little b/c it will absorb a lot more of the water. It will also still buckle when really soggy unless you prepare the paper and 'stretch' it, and quite frankly that is too much hassle for me.

One of these days I'll get around to adding my badges.

Tim Holtz, the designer of the Distress Inks, often works on shipping tags - they buckle with a lot of water but flatten out again when dried, if you use a heat gun to dry they flatten out right before your eyes!

I just bought some of Tim's Grunge board and can't wait to use it.
