I am adding a new challenge... My youngest daughter was thrilled with the idea of the challenges and she selected having an Earth Challenge.

Challenge details:
Create a project inspired by the theme Earth
This could be colors, shape, going green, nature, animals...
You must stamp a portion of your project

Explain when you post your project how you were inspired by the word Earth.

That's it... Tanya will pick the winner and I will provide the RAK.

I extended the challenge dates on this challenge until the 27th at midnight CST, since we started it later.

Hope this gets you thinking of something fun.

Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Link to blog post: SOF09 - Earth Challenge

Thanks for playing..

*******************

Tanya agonized over picking a winner... She looked through the entries multiple times and ended up using the random generator to select both winners.

The first winner is:
kkaisu - Fall & Earth Card
Tanya loved the colors on this card and the earthy feel of the leaves.

The second winner:
embee - peace on earth Tanya loved that the card had an earth stamped on the card.

I will peamail the winners for their info. Thanks everyone for playing! Tanya loved all the cards and she was so pleased that you played in her challenge. She also got to pick out the RAK's for the winners which made her really happy!

That's a great idea for a challenge! I'll definitely do it, lots of possibilities here.

Thanks for adding another challenge! And thank you to Tanya for coming up with such a good idea!

i'm going to edit one of my other posts if that is okay? to include it into this challenge... i loved the simplicity of my frog card, and it makes me think of a frog in the marshes... I think Kraft cardstock really lends itself to Earthiness and I had to have Cosmo Crickets Earth Love kit...

Excellent, an opportunity to use a tree stamp. I've got a card in the works with a tree on it for another challenge, are we allowed to "double up" for this challenge?

Absolutely double up challenges! No problem with using something posted today as part of the challenge and glad to see this inspired some ideas. Tree stamps... (hmm... I only have about 10 of those) maybe I should make a sample using all the elements I described in my blog post) Recycled - shaped like a globe, earthy colors..

Tanya is going to be so excited to see all the responses!

Here's my tree card for the earth challenge. I was inspired by the view outside my window this morning, of brightly coloured leaves seen through the autumn mist. That's what I think of when I think of the earth -- the autumn and the harvest.

I wanted to "Go Green" with this challenge and recycle something. I used a Heidi Swapp container that I've been saving for little treats. I decided to make a little Christmas ornament instead. I stamped a tree and decorated it and then added chunky "snow" glitter.

Hi Sue and Tanya: thank you so much for this challenge. You inspired me to think of the earth colors I used with my card and also the butterfly and the wood stamp that I used to stamp my scroll. Thank you so much....

Loving your DD's challenge - great idea!

I used packaging to create a tag card, the ledger is card backing from Making Memories ribbon and the card base/sentiment strip is the card left over from the back of a notebook.

Tanya is getting updates in the morning and when she gets home from school and looks over everything and comments on something she likes on every card. I point out if it is re-cycled so she knows which ones are going green. We love all the entries. I already told her we would do two RAKS. One for the one she wants to pick as her favorite and a second randomly generated one. (Because I know she isn't going to be able to choose)

Inspired by the beautiful autumnal colours of the trees in our garden, I created a card using a mix of earthy and fall colours, added in woodgrain and floral stamps and natural look fibre.

OK--Maybe I'm crazy--I'm putting this in the Earth challenge. I get morbid this season so I am thinking along the lines of "ashes to ashes" and skulls buried in Earth. Also the skull is made of small birds, trees and a pumpkin showing the cycle of life!

I was inspired by the earth theme, but didn't want to use the obvious colors, so I chose a kraft cardstock and cut the card front into a cirle, and added some plaid paper and a stamped branch. The branch has paper pieced leaves, and paper/jewel flowers. For the inside, I used a woodgrain rubon and then added a red circle for the writing.

This was a fun challenge!
I appreciate all that you do
