A big thank you to everyone who participated in my challenge!!
I love all the fabulous, funny, sweet and beautiful scenes were created. So much creativity among the stamping Peas.
I wrote down all the entries on pieces of papers, placed them in a bowl and let Anton draw the winner. Being a Winterfest baby and all, I thought he should join in the fun (and 18 folded pieces of paper is a lot of fun). The winner of the Make a Scene challenge is ... Lickeyan (Ann). Congrats Ann!
I am sending a peamail to you soon. I bought the RAK on our holiday and will try to get it in the mail as soon as possible.
Thanks again for playing!!
Anna-Karin

Hi everyone and welcome to my Winterfest 2011 challenge!!
My challenge is to Make a Scene. But of course not in the sense of getting angry and upset, but in the sense of stamping a scene. It can be any kind of scene that you can think of, for example realistic, funny, or sweet. Stamping and constructing little scenes is lots of fun and there are limitless possibilities both regarding stamps and items to use in your scene and techniques. I am so looking forward to seeing what everyone can come up with!
There are some more ideas in my challenge blog post here:
Make a Scene Challenge
Links to sample cards:
Lakeside Cove
Cabin on field
More sample cards
Since I am on holiday at the moment, with unreliable internet access, I will not be able to check everyone's contributions, or to check this thread every day, until the last weekend of Winterfest. I will try to check in as often as possible.
Challenge guidelines:
1. Make a new card of any size, an ATC, a layout or any other project, where you stamp your own scene.
2. Your scene must include at least one stamp and a total of at least three elements (for example, a house, a tree and a cloud).
3. Post your piece in the stamping gallery, and click the checkbox for 'WF11 Make a Scene'. It is good if you also include 'Make a Scene' in your title.
4. Please share how you made your scene, so that we can all learn.
5. You can combine this challenge with other Winterfest challenges and you may enter as many times you like.
6. It is always fun if you link your piece to the discussion thread about this challenge. Also, if you have any comments or questions, please leave them on that thread too.
7. The challenge runs between 5 March and 13 March 2011.

Oh, boy! My stress level just went off the charts. Then I saw first two samples. They are so beautiful. Great job, Anna-Karin! It's hard to believe that they are your first and second attempts at scenic stamping. Of course, my stress level went up even more. Then I looked at your third plus others samples. They made me smile, and my stress level went back to normal.
I've always loved this type of image, but I've been afraid to try. I actually have some stamps I could use to build a scene (thanks to Nora who tried to teach me). I think it may be time to give it another whirl. Starting out small.
Thank you for the terrific challenge.

Oh Anna-Karin we are going to miss you! Thanks so much for preparing a fun challenge. Like Daria I appreciate the wide range of samples. Your recent scenes are beautiful! I think I need a few more specific stamps for those scene but my thoughts are definately brewing! Have fun and see you back here soon! |

Thanks everyone!!
I just got some scenic stamps and really wanted to try them out so that's why two of the sample cards are examples of scenic stamping. I hope it doesn't appear as if the challenge is just about this - that's why I added a whole bunch of different cards to my third sample post.
It is possible to make so many different kinds of scenes and almost anything goes in this challenge (as long as the scene has some stamping and at least three elements). Most importantly, have fun!! |

Hi, Anna-Karin! One of the things that I've always loved about your stamping style is that you make scenes and do collages that look so amazing! So I am very pleased to see that your challenge is to "Make a Scene!" Great title, too! Looking forward to this challenge and seeing what everyone creates!

Loving your samples Anna-Karin, I love the 'proper scenes' but I'm not sure I have suitable stamps, I may have to go the cutesy way instead. |

Love your challenge, 'A-K''. Still hoping to get a new piece done for it, but wanted to share this piece with you & those who enjoy doing scenic stamping...Venice 'Seen'
I stamped all the elements on label paper using StazOn black. I used a plastic egg to make the frame opening & mounted the completed scene on black CS. |

Daniel, that's one very cool scene. I like the way you stamped within and outside of the oval that defines your focal image. I like the stamping in black and white.

Here are 2 entries for this challenge. The first is a natural scene and the second is cutesy. On the first one I sponged on the colors and then used torn paper to create the mountains in the background. I stamped over the scene with palm trees and a saying. On the second one I used my roller stamp to make the ocean and stuck the cow and fish between the layers. This was fun! Thanks!

This is my Make a Scene Card. I stamped the rose stamps first. Then I added the second row of flowers, stamped the blue bird, stamped the final branch, added additional roses, and then stamped the butterfly. The sentiment was added last. I then used colored pencils to color in the whole scene. This was fun. Spring Make A Scene Card |

For some mysterious reason, two of the cards were missing from the challenge blog when I checked it now. They were there an hour ago, but not anylonger. The missing cards were Lisa's (akaMyran) and Jamie's cards. They are both linked here in the message board, and everybody's names made it into the RAK draw. |

Congratulations, Ann! I'm so glad you won.
I can't help laughing. I can just see Anton with his fingers in that bowl of folded papers. Let him enjoy it now; a few years from now, he'll be begging to let him sleep in.
BTW. If you edit your entry during an event, it changes its spot in the sequence of cards in the Challenge Blog. I think if you edit it after the event is over, it removes it from the blog. I know that has happened to me. Maybe that accounts for the missing cards.

Thanks Daria, I think that is what might have happened with the missing cards.
Anton was very happy when he saw the bowl of folded papers. I had to snatch the first one he took out very quickly, otherwise it would have become dinner. The other 17 pieces were lots of fun to play with. |
