It's another color challenge with a twist. No takers last time , several scrappers checked the box tho'. I'll try one more time to entice you to play with the challenge. As always feel free to combine this with other challenges. Be sure to come back here and link you work. Thanks!
See the blog to get the twist & see my example. |

I like the colors yellow and black but I am sorry after reading the twist and looking at your inspiration card I do not understand what you mean by "card front can't cover the whole card back". Are you speaking of the card base itself? Do you want the card back to be made of 2 or more pieces? Or do I just need more coffee???

I like this challenge, but have the same question as FarNorth. Sorry that I just couldn't get many challenges done recently. I did work on the last one but never completed it.
Thanks so much for setting this up. |

Jan, Heidi, I'm sorry I didn't write a more clear instruction. I'd hoped that the second picture illustrated the cards construction. I posted another picture which I hope will clear up the confusion. It's harder to describe the construction than it is to do it! It's not hard to make at all!
See last image.
I hope this helps,if not I'll try again. Thanks for your patience.

I think I understand that the card front needs to have an open space where you can see the inside of the card. And then we can decide whether to decorate or not the inside of the card to fit the overall look of the card? |

Okay I got confused by thinking of the back of the card instead of seeing the inside. |

I'm glad I was able to clear it up.
In retrospect I SHOULD have said... "The card front is cut away at the top and bottom to expose the inside of the card and a die cut is attached to what remains of the front." I think, that description combined with the picture might have been a clearer explanation. |

That works better as an explanation for me, Marshia!
See if I have it correct... Our entries have to be yellow & black (with white allowed). The projects have to be a simple fold piece with a front that is altered to expose the inside of the piece. And the front must have a diecut/punchout(?).
I like. And since your challenge lets us include it during SOF '12 I like it even more... TY for a fun idea with good twists & turns. |

Daniel, I don't think it has to have a diecut/punchout. That's just one way of seeing the inside from the front. Am I right, Marshia?
Lol, all this confusion is very funny! Adds to the fun of the challenge! |

Actually Cristin Daniel is correct. I want to say shape tho' because it doesn't have to be a diecut, it could be a punch or a fold. Not a rectangle tho'. Who knew this was going to cause so much confusion!? I hope it doesn't scare would-be participants away. |

LOL, Marshia. I wouldn't worry. Sometimes we just have to tweak a word or phrase. And (as always) your challenge is a fun one! Let's see if I've got it...
1. Colors used are limitd to black & yellow(s), with white allowed.
2. Front of the card must be cut on (at least) 2 edges to expose the inside of the card.
2. A shape--punchout, diecut, fussy cut--must be on the card front. That shape cannot be a rectangle.
LOL! I think the hardest part of this challenge (for me) will be trying to avoid doing bumblebees...

OK, I won't be scared away. I am new to card making (but I have been scrapbooking and stamping for many years). I just did my first challenge card for Kimber's Saturday sketch. I will give this one a try too. |

I'm happy you'll be participating sopihikins! Yay! and welcome! I think you'll love cardmaking, it's almost instant gratification! And challenging at the same time.

I gave up trying to understand this challenge days ago...
Lol - that's not the challenge's (or Marshia's) fault - it's just too much for my little noggin to wrap itself around.
However, I'm glad others understood and did it, cause the entries have been great! |
