Oh, boy. I hate change. LOL. It always takes me a while to get use to it. Maybe this is why the board has been so slow the last few days and I couldn't get into my gallery with two out of three browsers.

Here's hoping that all goes well.

Cool butterfly saying, though, Heidi. I guess I'll get used to it.

It looks a lot more fresh and clean ... although it will take me a while to get used to it. I wish the links were more obvious, though, and stayed a blue color like the ones along the top. Didn't even know this was coming! Wowzers!

Uh. I need a way to delete praise in the gallery. I just tried to leave a comment on Nora's cool Stamp-a-Tangle card. I didn't see it in the Stamping or Cardmaking galleries so I did a member search and found it that way. Then it took me forever to see how to leave a comment (tiny plus sign by the word Comment). When I submitted my comment, it said "Adding Comment." It never finished. So I tried to cancel it and try again; only the same page kept coming back. To make a long story short, I just went back to try to leave my comment, and there it was FIVE times,

I like that everything seems to load fast and the look I can get used to---but it's hard for me to read.

And of course it's like when your rearrange ALL the furniture in the house---you kinda bump along trying to find things. lol!!

Yes, I like the clean and fresh look.

I would like a larger font for our posts. This certainly is straining my eyes-in the meantime I will use my computer zoom. Also I would like a couple lines of white space between posts--visually the threads are too crowded-again hard on the eyes.

Yes, I too would like a delete option for gallery posts...just last night I retyped a 2nd post because it was so slow in posting the 1st.

I was telling my hubby about wishing that the links stayed blue, and he said, well, "Tell them that." And I thought to myself, "Hey, I should fill out a service ticket." So I did.

And, Daria, I'd recommend that you do the same. Just say that you were trying to use the new site and what happened and suggest that you wish there were a way to delete comments or prevent duplicate comments.

So funny how we over-think the simple stuff. So glad you sent in a service ticket.

I'm all for a clean look, but this is way too sterile! My eyes hurt.

Anne, I did put in a service ticket. I'm still finding that leaving praise doesn't show that it works. The page freezes with the message "Adding Comment." That never goes away. I have noticed that I'm not the only one leaving multiple posts.

If this happens to you, instead of trying to leave another message, hit the refresh arrow on your computer. You'll get rid of their message, and you'll be able to see your comment--no more duplicate posts.

I think the new look lets the artwork shine. For example, in the Stamping Gallery, my eye is drawn directly to the projects.

Good tip, Daria! Hope it get resolved soon! I imagine that they will have some bugs to work out with such a big redesign.

OK. Poor Matt. I just left another service ticket:

When I go to the challenge blogs and click on a card that has been posted, it takes me to the main page of the gallery instead of to the card that was posted.

Also, the named links within the blog are printed in the exact same color as the text so a person wouldn't know they were links unless they happened to move their cursor over the text.

If people notice other things that are not working, please put in a service ticket so that Two Peas will know what still needs tweaking.

Thanks,
Daria

I miss the old look! At first I thought the site was down, and this was just a bare bones look to get it running again. Didn't know it was going to stay this way. I liked the bucket logo too, and I don't think it even shows on the front page.

And was there any warning? notice? Did they have to do it in the middle of Stamptoberfest? We're having an event here

Humph! I went to the Scrapbooking Forum to see what they were saying about the changes and noticed that in the "sticky" post there was a
"Welcome to the new Two Peas" posted by Geek Pea. Doesn't he think the other forums would like the same info? He is updating his post with fixes as they are being made, in case you want to check it out.

Still, disappointed that we were overlooked. Also seems strange to me that they would do this when the community manager (Jamie) is out?

I submitted a ticket because I couldn't find where we are able to add a thread to our watch list in the new format.

I found the answer on the photography forum (of all places!)

And tell us how to bookmark???

Clicking on the arrow to the right of the reply button gave me an option to 'bookmark this.'

I also agreed with another poster over there. She said it is maybe not the fact that the white is too white but there is so much of it! Another comment was that the forum posts seem like they are just floating in all the white. I feel the same way.

Cindi, thanks for the information about the post on the Scrappin' Board. I went there to read the thread and left a message with a link to this thread.

The things they are discussing there don't reflect the problems we are encountering. It's important that we put in those Service Tickets so they know what needs tweaking.

I was extremely sorry to read Jeffrey's comments about the white/pale gray/paler gray color scheme. It's killing my eyes; I can hardly bare to watch my monitor, and from the comments on the Scrappin' Board, I'm not alone. Jeffrey said that it is here to stay.

I hadn't realized yet that the icon for adding a thread to our Watch List is missing.

You can bookmark a gallery post. All the options seem to be in the right-hand sidebar. I don't see a way to bookmark a thread.

I just reread your post. Thanks for finding out how to bookmark a thread and add it to the watch list. (Arrow to the right of the word Reply at both the top and the bottom of the thread)

When I put in the service ticket about the problem we're having leaving praise in the gallery, I also mentioned that the comment box opens up right on top of the card we're trying to praise. That makes it hard to see the complete card and details. I keep wanting to move it over.

I agree with the comment about there just being too much white. I have a larger monitor now, and the webpage is surrounded by large amounts of glaring white. It might not have been so bad with my smaller monitor.

I've noticed something I like about the new Two Peas. When I leave praise in the gallery, I might not be able to see the entire card, but I can scroll down and read the orignal poster's comments about he/she made his/her project. That's a terrific feature.

Hey Daria, you can just move the comment box off the card, to anywhere in the page, so you can see it all. That IS handy!!

One other thing I was trying to do is to look at all the entries for the Saturday Card Sketch by going to Kimber's card. Well, I couldn't find a link for submissions to that challenge. I often like to peruse all the other entries and I hope they bring that feature back.
Thanks for letting me know about thread on the scrappin board. I will read it. I for one think that the grey needs to be a bit darker.

I do like the overall look of the gallery.

Yeah, I have badges because I'm special!

Actually, I have badges because I put them there! I went to my public profile and put them in my signature. I posted how to do it in another thread, but I should probably make it a thread of its own. (so everyone doesn't think I'm special )

Watch for that thread. I hope I can just cut and paste the instructions I posted, providing they stayed the same. I wrote them before the switch to the new 2peas look.

It's a bit early for me to do a complete review on the new format, but that's never stopped me before!

I'm so-so on the light blue for the fonts--including links. Tougher on my eyes with the white BG, but it's not unuseable.

Yes. Just noticed that the site does seem to load a bit faster--hope that continues.

I like being able to comment on gallery pieces & still 'see' the artist's notes--very nice. The comment box is a different size, but that's not a big issue--no pun intended. One thing I've already noticed... I was looking at Anne's Past/Present gallery pieces & about to ask her to link her past pieces. By chance my curser touched on the titles in her notes & I realized they were links. Couldn't see any difference in the font color to tell me that, tho'.

At this point, I'd have to say the pluses outweigh the minuses for the new format. Yeah, I kinda wish they hadn't done it during SOF, but (like our roadwork) I know you can't always find a perfect time to do necessary maintainance. Boy! Have I mellowed!

Best thing about the changes? We have a group that provides support for one another. I can always ask for help from y'all & I've never been disappointed!

LOL, Cindi! I figure we got skipped in the 'welcome' 'cause our forum is 2Ps version of an open 'secret treasure'--like a great restaurant that get known by word-of-mouth. KWIM?

Don't know if anyone else is having this problem but if I go to a challenge blog, to see all the entries and then try to click on one of the entries, to take a closer look, it just seems to route me to the general gallery page, not the individual project. I can get to the project by using the link in the discussion thread but not from the blog.

You were not overlooked! I needed that thread to be one that people could respond to and when we make it sticky, it's locked and can't get responses. I do most of my communication on the GS board just because it's "neutral ground." I love you guys and that you do this event, so I would never leave you out!

Yes, there are aspects that would have been easier with Jamie here, but despite my pleas, she wouldn't reschedule this baby thing. We have a bunch of other projects that are backed up against launching this, so we needed to get it done and out the door!

Let's see if I have the list of problems right that I see here:

@djc: Can't see your own gallery. Give me a link to exactly where you see the error. I tried to look into this the other day and couldn't recreate it.

Can't delete praise in the gallery. This hasn't been there since we took the praise out of the message board. It was a long story even back when I remembered it, but I'll bring this up at our next dev meeting and discuss it. Maybe we can have it available for a short period after posting, specifically for the double-post thing.

Wish the links stayed blue... We had blue links? Help me understand this one.

Challenge blog project links... Found and fixed that. My bad.

Link color same as surrounding text... We're going to discuss this today and figure something out.

Thanks!

J

Christin, thank you so much for telling us how to move the comment box over. I kept reaching to hit the Alt & Space Bar on my computer, and half way there, I realized that was not going to work on Two Peas. LOL.

Jeffrey, thank you so much for visiting us.

I can see that things are working more smoothly today. I was able to move the comment box out of my way (Thank you, Christin.), and I when I submitted my comment, it entered immediately; I didn't have to refresh the page to get rid of the "Adding Comment" message.

I also see that the card links on the challenge blogs are working again.

I'm glad you'l be discussing changing the colors of linked text. That is a real problem. I went back and made my text links bold, and that helps, but not everything in bold print will be a link.

About the white/gray issue, I seem to remember that long ago we were able to select the color scheme we wanted. Is that a possibility? People who love the clean look of the white and gray could keep it, and others could select a soft color in the background? Love the teal blue, btw.

I still cannot access my Public Profile/Gallery or click on my user name to go to Public Profile/Gallery while using Internet Explorer. I just get a message that the webpage cannot be displayed.

I have tried Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox as well as Internet Explorer. Yesterday only Firefox worked. Today none of them work. This problem pre-dates the changes on the board. It's been going on for several days.

Thanks for listening to us.

Thanks GeekPea for putting in your two cents. Many of the problems from yesterday have already improved, so bravo for that!

I'm gonna stick to my guns about the link color, I think it HAS to be more different or lots of people are going to have missing links.

ONE MORE THING, Before in the gallery, there used to be a tab for looking at that Pea's other projects. I LOVED that feature! Is it gone?

Thanks!

Thank you, Jeffrey (GeekPea), for visiting us!

Many of us "Stamping Peas" hang out only here, so sometimes we feel a bit "left out" if posts go only on the General Scrappin' Board. Perhaps in the future, you could figure out a way to have "master level" threads that could be seen across all boards, for situations like this? Just a thought...

When I said "I wish the links were more obvious, though, and stayed a blue color like the ones along the top" what I was trying to say is that where the links are the same color or a nearly-the-same grey color and nearly impossible for me to find. I wish they were the pretty blue color like the nav links across the top right or the nav bar subheads or in my siggie below.

@ Daria - it wouldn't hurt to try refreshing your other browsers, since there have been so many changes. Maybe that would help.

I agree too that having the links a dark grey was really hard to see--quite a few times I was wondering why the poster wasn't giving us the link, only to find it hidden b/c it was grey. But I see now they are a pretty aqua color! So easy to spot! Thank you!!!

Anne, thank you for the suggestion. Matt asked me which versions of the browsers I'm using so I tried to find out. I couldn't see anywhere where the version was indicated so I went to Firefox and Google Chrome and downloaded their latest versions. I already have the latest version of Internet Explorer that works with Windows 7. The first two allowed me to access my gallery after a lengthy wait. IE 9 still won't display the web page when I try to access it.

Well, at least I can get in if I change browsers.

The cards in the Challenge Blogs work as links again. Be sure to click on the card itself, and it will take you where you want to go. If you click on the print below the card, it still takes you to the Gallery's home page.

Daria-When I click our challenge photos linked into the challenge blog the current result I am getting is a message of Not Found or Bad Gateway.

Does any know if there is a way to adjust our monitors to decrease the white light on this site? The blue links are essential but the color in the tiny thin font now make it even harder for me to see. I have increase the zoom to 150 but the fonts are too thin. I can not stay on this site very long.

Thanks for all the help.
