This is our 'regular' chat so don't sweat the election stuff. Win-lose-or-draw, we'll be done with this seemingly interminable election season by wed. 'Course--like those who start dying Easter Eggs on Dec. 27--someone will begin campaigning for office on Nov. 7.

Not bad for a monday--so far. Cold & overcast, but usual for us here. Looks like another storm for the NE this week. Definitely not a 'good thing' for those just begining to deal with the aftermath of Sandy. But not much we can do about the weather.

Sounds like some good eats being made/ordered by us this past week. Our Sun. dinner was yummy. Few leftovers & we're going to make pick-up supper today. Not sure what we're eatin' rest of this week.

Working on my send you & filling envies for mailing.

How's your monday shaping up?

Good Monday Morning! Even though it feels a bit like afternoon since I've been up for so long.

I've been working some and picking up around the house this morning. Getting ready to start some laundry.

Chilly day here too. I'm doing a pork roast for dinner with rice and peas for the sides.

Didn't get around to crafting like I planned last night, I went to bed early instead. We're going out of town for a few days later in the week so I'm gonna make up some kits to take with me.

I'm hoping the weather lightens up some for those up north even though it doesn't look too promising. My thoughts are with all of those trying to piece it all back together.

Gotta go do some work, have a good one everybody.

Happy Monday! Having the extra hour over the weekend helped Monday morning a little bit. I needed to do some shopping this morning to return some items and use some of those promotional "cash back" coupons that would expire soon. I also have started my Christmas shopping, not so much on purpose, just convenience...

Daniel, I'll agree with you that I am looking forward to the end of this political season. I am hopeful it will not be a draw! That might be ugly...

I think we'll have garlicy chicken tonight. I'm looking for a good chicken noodle soup recipe. Anyone have one? It might be preferable to cook it in the crock pot, but not necessary...

Trying to make room for crafting this afternoon, but the housework has got to come first today. Have a great day all!

Good afternoon everyone!

Nice fall day! Thinking about some sort of soup for supper---maybe cauliflower and okra and ground pork. Was wanting to fry some of the okra so may do both---we'll see how far I get!

I am going to try to attempt Marshia's color challenge today and see what I can do. I like your kit idea LeighAnn---I'll have to try that next time we're gone for a few days.

I like this time change, even though it only last 4 months----wish we could just leave the time alone, but c'est la vive!

I too am interested to see what tomorrow will bring as far as a president.

Short type today---need to get a few more things done before I start on supper, but just wanted to check in and say hi!!

Have a great day everyone!

Good afternoon! I have been running errands most of the day. It is warm and pretty outside. Tomorrow we are getting the cold and rain. I am hoping the weather will not be so bad for those who got it from Sandy. I feel for them! Looking forward to my local stamp club meeting tonight! We are making a different kind of bookmark and a card. I love getting together with all my fellow stampers! Hubby will be eating the last of the stew and I will be eating out with some of the stampers after the meeting. Hope you have a good evening.

Morning! Boy am I behind... I was reading posts and looking at the time... somehow I thought today was Monday!
Well, figuring out eating with one of us not eating meat has been interesting. Last night we had ravioli's (frozen) and tortellini's. I fixed meat ones for hubby and I and cheese one for the 'pesky' lol. And of course everyone had to have a different sauce. Thank goodness for microwaves. We had green, red and white sauces.
Cold here but I guess that's normal for this time of year, lol. Bowling this morning, then hoping to get started on Hanukkah cards this afternoon. I think all my Christmas cards are done.
Still working on my swap project also.
Everybody have a good day!

Good morning! Had issues with the school bus this morning so had to drive DS to school. Afterwards stopped into the polls to vote. No lines at all, although there aren't usually during the day, it is before 9 and after 4 when they get busy here.

Kathy, that is great that you are moving along with your holiday cards. Have you posted any of them? At least pasta is something not too difficult to cook different kinds!

Have plans to go to Costco today. I have my send you card planned, just need to execute it. I started doing this yesterday, was doing some fussy cutting and totally butchered my stamped images, so I set it aside. Maybe I had too much coffee?

Have a great day! Happy Election Day to all you Americans, I hope you will make time to vote for whomever you prefer.

Good Morning! Woke to bright sunshine this morning. Still cold, but always a treat to have sun in November. Doesn't look like our area will get much from the Nor'easter--maybe a bit of rain. Ditto on the hope that it won't do more damage to the areas hard hit by Sandy.

Mom's asked for a pancake supper today. Sounds good. She wants salmon soup tomorrow. Works for me. Both are easy meals to make.

LOL on your 'pesky', Kathy! I like fish more than mom, but she'll eat it. I got whiting fillets @ the store. Might do a couple for a supper & I'm hungry for a fish 'newburg'. If I throw in some shrimp mom will probably eat some. Have to look up my recipe. Think it's in one of mom's 'Crisco' cookbooks.

Just 'added' 47 stamps to my stash! No I didn't buy them. I was looking for something else & found an entire set of UMS I must have gotten as a RAK way back. It's a Back-To-School set & I've never used any of them.

Planning to work on my 'send you' today & finish some other stuff.

Hoping for an early decision on the presidential part of today's election. That way the losing party can begin campaigning sooner...

Y'all have a good today!

I'm hoping for an early decision on the election too. If it runs late my curiosity will not let me go to bed, till I know, and I don't need another late night.

Even though it is not 'my' election what happens 'south of the border' will effect everyone on the continent.

Cold and grey here today. I've got to go out and run some messages, bank, grocery store, might drop by Winner's, they have been having some scrappy finds in there the last few times I have been. Not that I need more, but they are on the way and, sadly, I have trouble resisting a possible bargain...sigh...

I spent time yesterday working on a snowflake Christmas card, embossed background and blingy large snowflake punch out...now when I go to put it together I think it is too much, the big snowflake with bling totally overshadows the background. BAck to the drawing board on that one.

Hello everyone! Just got back from a week's vacation in NY state. I think we saw blue sky for a total of 20 minutes all week, and wouldn't you know, this morning it was clear and we saw the moon and stars (got up at 4am to catch the flight home). So cold, 25 deg, that we had to be de-iced before takeoff. Still, I had a great time while my husband worked !

I stopped by my fave scrap/stamp/bead store in Corning, NY. I also got to take a flameworking class with a friend. We made 3 glass beads each. That was really fun! At the Corning Museum Studio I watched the artist in residence and his assistant make a glass blown crab claw from start to finish (it was about a foot long)! I love to watch! The artist was so grateful to have use of the Corning facilities. I asked him where he's from and he said NYC. His home and studio are fine but he lost 40% of his last year's work to Sandy ! Can you imagine? I'm assuming that is work he had in galleries for sale. Still, he knows he's lucky to have his home and studio. Wow.

On the food front; we ate all our faves on vacation. Favorite pizza, favorite fish fry, even favorite hot dogs! And, Mom's chocolate chip cookies! Ouch! I think I better cancel that cholesterol check up and move it back a few weeks .

As far as the election is concerned, I will be so glad when the ads stop and the phone stops ringing . It was nice to be able to delete the entire answering machine and throw out half of the mail!
This was the first time I voted early, just in case we didn't get home in time. It was convenient, and kind of nice being able to ignore the yakking, but I will probably go back to voting on election day. I don't know, just feels more patriotic some how!

I bought a RubberStampMadness magazine and read it all the way home. Now I'm fired up to get back to stamping!

Heidi, I can relate. Sometimes I get the shakes from too much coffee! Makes stamping and fussy cutting a challenge, haha!

Stay warm and dry you northerners! I saw just enough snow flurries, and now I'm back in sunny FL!

Good morning everyone! I am so tired! It may snow here today, the bus driver was warning about a possible early dismissal. I think probably not, but it is time to start thinking about those kind of possibilities.

I am hosting my book club tonight, so need to make some dips and refreshments. I think most people will want hot drinks on a cold night, so that is easy enough.

Around the house we have been making progress in cleaning out our basement and trying to make it livable. Have a pile to try to sell and a pile to give away.

Still haven't completed my swap item. I have not been so crafty the last few days.

Who is interested in gift card holders and handstamped gifts? Daniel started an interesting thread I was hoping to hear more input about it. Have a great day!

Pleasantly surprised by how early the election was decided. Thot both candidates were classy @ the finish line.

We're on the westernmost edge of 'Athena'. Might get up to an inch of white stuff later today, but warming up by this weekend. Mom & I are talking about sunday dinner 'out'. If we stay home it'll be chicken livers & ?. Mom's making salmon soup for our supper today.

Heidi. What's the 'read' up for discussion? Hope the weather doesn't mess you up. Same for those folks already battered by Sandy.

Cindi. Haven't been to Corning in donkey's years, but love the museum & the art glass studio. Glass is such a magical material! That's so sad for the artist losing 40% of his work! Love them foods you had!

Hope y'all have an easy day today! Later!

Had Bible Study this morning. Just about ready to eat lunch. Will probably have some soup. It is cold and rainy here. I love the card and bookmark we made at my stamp meeting Monday night. I will upload them later. I hope everyone is having a good day.

Glad to say we got 'nada' from the nor'easter--not even a flake! Looks like folks east & north got varying amounts/typed of precip. Hope all are doing ok.

Mom's salmon soup was yummy. We have leftover & it's one of of those soups that improves with age--just not too much age.

Kind of cold out today, but warming. We decided to hold off 'til saturday to do banking & groceries. Mom had her (early) hair appt. & it's a bit of an effort for her to do lots in one dose. No prob! We have plenty to eat.

Speaking of eats... 2 weeks 'til T-DAY'! Mom & I are talking menu. Deciding on the 'sides' is our biggest challenge--we love lots of them, but know we need to keep them in bounds. We're also trying to figure out what to do about the 'boid'! I see where one market is offering 'half' turkeys this year. That would work for us--don't mind paying more for the convenience. Also considering getting (frozen) turkey roll. We like them.

Working on some craft stuff today. How 'bout you?

Have a good'un!

We didn't get a flake of snow either. Go figure.

I'm glad to hear some interest in the gift card holders. You might expect a little challenge sometime soon...

Daniel, have you ever tried a turkey breast? We did that last year and it was so easy (didn't take up the whole oven) and it was very moist and tasty. I have not seen the option of a half turkey before!

We always have cranberry-orange relish, green beans with portabello mushrooms, sliced yams with praline topping (not too sweet) and sage dressing. Some of the other sides vary a bit.

For book club, we read Heaven is For Real. Not a great book for book club, but we each take turns choosing books. Recently we read the Great Gatsby, so you can see it varies widely what type of book. It is a great way to get yourself to read something you might not otherwise. Almost all the time, we find that we find positive things about books we wouldn't otherwise read. Anyone have any book recommendations?

I would love to see the Corning gallery and glass pieces made. Right up my alley!

I did make a card this morning, inspired by something in the gallery. More to do this afternoon.

Glad 'Athena' didn't hit you, Heidi!

Turkey front: Yeah. We've done the 'breast' thing, but we both love dark meat & finding other-than-legs for parts is very iffy locally. I'm going to watch for wings & thighs when I shop.

Looking forward to seeing what you've crafted & seeing the 'thing' you shared that you are working on for our forum--no pressure, of course!

This morning I helped out in DS's classroom. One thing I did was pre-cut construction paper for an art project. I found it interesting that their paper was sized 9 x 12. The paper cutter was awful! Thank goodness for fingernails!

I have my swap item finished but I still need to prepare the kit.

Happy Friday!

Morning Happy Stampers!

Have to deal with a few showers around this morning, but worth it since it's a warm front coming in. Sunday's high is to be in the 60s & sunny! Think we'll go out for dinner. I have a hankering for turkey & stuffing or maybe their mixed seafood platter.

Did the banking & grocery run. Not bad. Got some of the fixings for our T-Day feast. We've decided to go with the turkey roll & I bought 2 of them so we'll have plenty for dinner & sandwiches (my fave). Got a good buy on pickled beet. Just have to add the hard cooked eggs! We may do deviled eggs, too. Stuffing's a 'given'. Ditto gravy. Still time for us to add/tweak the other 'sides'.

Tomorrow is Veterans Day by the calendar. Monday is the federal holiday so no mail or banks. Good time to remember all those who have so well served our nation--past & present.

I see Heidi has a 'giftcard/gift' challenge running. She has a great link to ideas. WTG, Heidi!

'Send YOU!' appears to be coming along, too.

Forum traffic is down a little bit, but we're holding our own on that front--'specially as we get into the 'busy' season for crafting.

Hope y'all have a grest today & even better tomorrow!

I am in NC staying with my mother-in-law again -- who needs 24 hour care right now. I am relieving my husband's sister. It has been a beautiful weekend and will continue through tomorrow they say. Cloudy on Monday, but will be good for me driving back home -- the sun won't be in my eyes all the way home! MIL and I are having spaghetti and meatballs and salad tomorrow for lunch. Not sure about supper yet. Ready to get back home and get some cards done for the design team. I have brought some stamping things with me to make some birthday cards that I am always in need of it seems. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Happy Day fellow Stampes!

Change in plans here. Mom wasn't feeling up to going out for Sunday dinner. She's feeling better now, but we decided to not press the matter.

Weather here is gorgeous & looks to hold into monday. Might suggest doing breakfast tomorrow.

Working on--even re-thinking--my 'Send You!' Not sure. But will mail it by deadline (11/17).

Hope everyone's having a good today!
