Challenge Blog
Please see the challenge blog for guidelines. You have until Dec 16th to link your project. The reason for the deadline is so that others who want to use your idea will have a few days before the holidays to finish it up a last minute gift.
See Daniel's thread for ideas, or go ahead and discuss on this thread.

I was just thinking last night that we needed another challenge! Thanks Heidi! (And thanks for the generous time-frame). I have an idea already (but probably won't get time to start for a few weeks). |

I am in. I have to get a gift card this week for a friend's BD and this will be perfect. She wanted clothes for her birthday, so this will be an occasion for a gift card holder.
I will be posting. |

I got right on this challenge and have posted my project in the gallery. I like how it turned out and this would also work for a money folder.
I have linked it to the blog and will link it here as well.

Way to go, Lickeyan, for getting this challenge started right away!! I am impressed by your speed!
I love your project. In addition to the other use you stated, I think that some gift card holders MAY be able to be used as a library card (or other important card) holder. I have a clear, plastic library card holder to make it easier for me to find that card in my wallet quickly. I think a flat GC holder would double for that use. Not so much if it were fatter.
Thanks for participating! |

Great challenge idea Heidi
LickeyAn, your project is so pretty!
I've got some ideas brewing for this, can't wait to work them all out. |

Great suggestion for using the holder to hold other cards like library ones, Heidi!
Might be 'fun' to use duct tape & acetate from packaging to make the cardholder. You could stamp on both materials with some inks/paints. |

Great suggestion on the duct tape! It is a "hip" craft for kids nowadays too to use duct tape (and the many colors/patterns available), so that might make a good gift card holder for kids and teens!

Thanks Likeyan, I do too, but I did give people through December 16th because I knew the holidays would be busy. I hope to see more participation too! |

I sat down to start planning this last night, and it feels like I'm going to be making 5 or 6 cards for the one project - but it should be fun! Fortunately I have a scrap get-together on Saturday night, so that'll give me some
extra time.
I'm very glad you gave us such a long time to do it, though, Heidi! Thanks. |

Hmmmm, I decided to do a smaller, more manageable project first, and then do the first idea if I have time.
I'm making a seed packet/gift-card holder cause we sometimes get my MIL a card for a garden centre if we can't think of anything else, so I know it'll get used. I should be finished and able to post it next week.
My first idea was a baby mini-book, kind of like a record book for monthly weights etc. but I don't think I'd use it as a gift-card holder IRL. We'll see how it goes... |

Working on mine, Heidi. It's gonna be a two-fer! Combining my 'made-from-the-kit' project (Send YOU!) & your challenge!

Here we go! My Seed Packet Giftcard Holder .
It was fun trying to work out how to fold it all as neatly as possible - I really like the result! Not 100% happy with the stamping and colouring, but what a fun challenge!
Thanks Heidi!
BTW - Fun Fact - I was colouring this in a severe thumderstorm, just after I had heard the loudest crack of thunder in my life, and jumped a mile, so I was worried that another one would come and I'd jump again and mess up the colouring! (needless to say, didn't happen) |

Here is a video of a "regular" gift card holder that might inspire you to make something for this challenge. I liked that this is a different shape (longer) than many I have seen and thought you might be able to incorporate this into another kind of gift.
