Do you ever get a stamp pile up on your desk? I do.
The bad this is that they are all still inked and getting it all over the place. I just get so into my projects that I toss them into the pile to clean off later--and then I totally regret it!! ugh! Time to break out the baby wipes and put on a movie! get to cleaning!!!! |

I have a basket on my table with stray stamps piled high! I need to get them back to their 'homes' so I can find them the next time I need one!
I will wipe them off with a baby wipe if they are still very inky- but most times--I just toss them in the basket---or they stay on one of my many blocks until I decide I am done with it for this project! I feel your pain!

I am still dealing with my pile up and started creating it - early last year. I now have them all cleaned and sorted, but they haven't seen there home for many a moon.
I currently am not adding to it - at least am not adding more.
So understand your challenge.

I have always been told to clean them right after use and that is what I do. I n ever thought of putting them in a basket. zipper28

I started keeping my workspace cleaner when I ruined some projects because they touched those dirty things left sitting around. Frustration with that motivates me to clean up as I go along. |

When I'm working on a project that uses several stamps they do end up in a dirty pile. When I'm ALL done i clean them all at the sink. I do have a scrubber and wipes which I tend to use if using one or two stamps. Just works better for me this way.

I throw them in a pile, while I am working on a project, and then try to clean them up at the end of the session but the last couple of weeks I've been working on a lot of Christmas cards one right after the other and had a huge pile of 'used' stamps.
Finally today I stopped and got rid of a lot of junk that was on the table and got the stamps cleaned and put away. I can see the surface of my table again.

I'm better at cleaning than putting away. I usually clean as I go, sometimes to a fault (clean it only to realize I need to immediately reink it!).I think the basket to corral them sounds good! I clean as I go using stamp cleaner and a SU scrub pad. Love the new SU pad, I've been wanting it for years and I finally splurged. So worth it, for me anyway. Large enough for background stamps with scrub pads on both sides, I try to have one wet, one dry. Oh, and it has rubber feet so it doesn't slip. (I don't work for SU)
Don't you hate it when you go searching for a stamp and can't find it because it is still out from last use? Happens all the time! Ugh! |

I also tend to clean as I go. But I do have a large pile up of mostly new stamps that I want to try & use on layouts in the near future. I need to stop buying & start using more
