Merry Christmas Eve Everyone!

I'm sure most of us are in our final preparations today. I wonder if anyone (including me!) is going to get any crafty things for gifts. I know Daniel said he used a cash gift to purchase some stamps.

As Christmas card making is dying down, I began to search around for Valentine ideas to make for my kids' classes!

Be safe if you are traveling and have a jolly time!

Valentines, Heidi?! LOL &

For the first time in my memory, we went grocery shopping on Christmas Eve (Day)! We probably could have waited 'til end-of-the-week, but weather is looking iffy. Mom's a good driver, but even a bit of ice/snow is a lot tougher for her these days. 'Sok. Even tho' the market was busy, shoppers & checkers were polite & quick so it wasn't bad. Plus I found breaded shrimp for today's supper. Mom's been hungry for it & I like it, too. Got nice large butterflied ones. Might bake rather than fry them.

Making progress with 'cleaning'. Today's 'must' with a deadline? Have to clean off the dining room table & dress it before 4pm. It's when we light the bayberry candles & it's the safest place for them.

Other than that I'm in 'what gets done' mode.

Sending Holiday Wishes to all my Stampea pals!

I'm in good shape on chores & hoping the same for all my friends here.

It is very cold and rainy here today. I made brownies this morning. The rest can wait until tomorrow. I wish everyone a most wonderful and blessed Christmas!

Mom's been fed. She enjoyed the shrimp & fries.

I lit the bayberry candles. The scent is lovely & they provide a lovely glow.

As for me? Gonna take a short nap. When I get up later I plan to get 'lit', too!

I'm in what gets done mode also...Christmas Eve and Christmas day will be kind of quiet .
We exchanged gifts with my BIL and Nephew's family this afternoon but will save the big turkey dinner till the weekend when my younger son and his girlfriend will return from visiting her family in Ottawa.
Tomorrow is baked hame for me, hubby, and my older son.

Merry Christmas to all the stamp peas!

Merry Christmas every one! We don't do much for Christmas except dinner and stockings, hehehe. Got all our presents for Hanukkah. Well... we got our house, I guess that's a pretty big present, LOL
Might make a pumpkin roll today for dessert. Ordered one of those scrappy grab bags from another site I won't mention. That's my present to myself, hehehe.
Waiting for Twopeas to get Tim Holtz embossing distressing something or other that I saw on Jennifer McGuire's favorites.... I really want those, hehehe.

Merry Christmas!
We had our family gift exchange and ham dinner last night because my younger son had to work at the hotel restaurant today. My oldest son got me a stamp press for Christmas! I am pretty excited to try it out. I have a few large unmounted stamps that I have a hard time stamping with so hopefully this will enable me to get a crisper image. I unwrapped it and got all excited, which completely baffled the rest of the family. Unfortunately the aforementioned hotel caught fire this morning and my son was sent home by the firefighters. I am grateful for those firefighters who spent the holiday away from their family in order to keep others safe today. Thankfully no one was injured and I have the whole family home today, so we are going to make a homemade lasagna and indulge in apple pie.
Have a safe and Merry Christmas!

Happy Festivus! (remember Seinfeld?)

Of course, Merry Christmas to all!

We had a dusting of snow last nite. Just enough to be decorative. Most of it has already melted. Tomorrow's weather is sounding crappy. Starting as snow, then a winter 'mix' (weather speak for sh**ty) 'Sok. No place we must go.

Mom's been fed--she enjoyed most, but wasn't crazy for the broccoli. Said some of the cuts were a bit 'hard'. I completely understand.

Rest of today should be relaxed. Sis & family will probably stop by later. Didn't wrap their gifts (booze). 'Sok. Saves time. Figure if conversation lags we can all take a slug from our various potables.

Actually got further along with my January tag for the swap. Liking it so far. Have to admit that (like Heidi with valentines) I'm thinking about my Feb. tag. Why do I think Pug is gonna do a 'twist' for month #2?

That's it for now, pals! Hope y'all have a wonderful rest of Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas, everybody!!

I hope you're all having a lovely day. It's actually my one-year 2Peaversary today! (It's 12/26 here now). Yay, I get my fat little pea badge.

Oh, Ruby, that's an interesting Christmas story! Sad for the restaurant, good for your family!

Ahhhhh, Seinfeld.... Oh, 5, 10 minutes.

Lol on all the alcohol for Christmas, Daniel - DH was put out that our family WOULDN'T get him alcohol for Christmas. He got about 10 t-shirts . He'd fit into your family well. (Didn't fit into some of the shirts so well).

I didn't get any stamping gifts, but I DID get a gift card for my local craft store, so I'm very happy! Wondering when I can sneak away and spend it...

We had a great day - church, then MIL back to our place for presents, then DH's Aunty & Uncle's place for lunch (cold ham, steak pie, salads and a bit of vegan "chicken", followed by Christmas pudding). THEN home to prepare for my family dinner - roast chicken and veg and Christmas Pudding. First time I've made Christmas dinner. I did quite well. Lovely, but exhausting day! Today we're collapsed on the couch - thank goodness the kids have new things to entertain themselves with!

Tomorrow we have to travel 2 hours for one more family get-together! Then on Friday DH and I are escaping for a night away, alone. Kids to grandparents. Bliss.

We ended up with a white Christmas - lol, sort of! It was about 100 degrees on Monday, then rained and cooled down dramatically overnight, so that Tuesday was very foggy! Closest we're ever going to get.

Well, I'm looking forward to starting on my January tag, now, and reading lots (I'm reading Jaycee Dugard's autobiography - tough going at times, but well worth it - amazing spirit that girl has!)

Have a fantastic holiday season, all! (I hope to have more time to check in here now!)

Happy 'Boxing' Day All!

LOL, Christan. Loved hearing about your Christmas. Send DH my commiseration on his family's lack of 'spirits'. Sis (& family) got me a gift certificate for my beer distributor. They finally wised up!

We're waiting for the 'storm' to start in our area. Looks like we're in for a few inches of snow before the (dreaded) changeover to sleet & such.

Mom & her friend are playing it safe. They're cancelling on their Thurs. hair appt. I might ask mom if she'd like me to do her hair. I have a box of raspberry jello (sugar free) that would be a great color for her.

Not much on the 'must do' list today. Good chance to finish my tag & get playful with my new stamps.

Y'all have a great today!

We definitely lucked out with the storm. Got maybe an inch of snow, then a dry slot opened up over our area. We missed more snow & any mix & rain. 'Sok by me. Have to clean the front walk, but shouldn't be too difficult.

Gonna do a load of laundry, but that's about it for today's chores. Not feeling like doing a whole lot for no particular reason.

Hope y'all have a good today.

We got dumped on yesterday. I'd guess about 4 or so inches. Not horrible but certainly requiring shovelling out of driveways and plowing streets. It does look pretty and is okay if you don't have to get anywhere at any particular time. For people who have to get to work it's a pain.

Hello All! Hope you had a good holiday. We did, and then traveled around a bit to see family, some of that in the snow storms, and now are back home. I think we are happy to have visited with folks, but happy to be home!

I did get a few crafty things for Christmas. Two stamps, two punches and some spellbinders dies! Hopefully I will get to try some of it out this weekend!

I have to babysit for my friend's kid (in addition to my own) tomorrow, so after that looking forward to some down time and enjoying the break. I think we are to get some more snow over the weekend.

Not doing much crafting this week. I've been playing with my camera and then with those pictures in photoshop.

After all the festivities are over I need to do a major re-organization of my crafting areas. My stuff has been spreading all over the place and is not only starting to infiltrate areas where it doesn't belong, but it's getting harder and harder to find things, when I need them. It's so frustrating to know you have a tool or a stamp and just not be able to find it when you need it.

I took down the outside decorations yesterday since it was pretty and not too cold. We keep getting rain and wind about every two days! Will attempt to take the tree down this weekend. I have crafted some -- mostly learning some new techniques! I wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Happy Saturday!

Ours is a snowy one here. Although this storm is weaker than the one earlier this week, we haven't got a 'dry slot' this time. Looks like we'll get between 3"-5". Not bad really since there's no icy mix; just snow. 'Sok. There's no place we have to go today.

Mom surprised me with a 'food request' this morning. She asked if I'd make shrimp creole sometime soon. Reason I'm surprised is that she's not as fond of it as I am, but I'm happy to comply. I checked & found I have all the fixings. Might make it today or for New Year's Eve supper. Leaning toward making it today. What takes the most time & effort is making the 'sauce piquante' & even that isn't a huge amount of work. Might see if I can do a 'crockpot' version.

Managed to get my tag in the mail yesterday. Turned out ok. Also got best part of an ATC finished for another Jan swap. I'm practically on a roll!

Best keep moving. So... Y'all have a terrific day!

Yesterday we had the extra kid and all went well with that. His mom brought dinner as our payment and that is far better than money! Great dinner that I didn't have to make? Priceless. It was spaghetti pie, green salad and fresh garlic bread.

I had forgotten that I won a set of stamps and dies on a blog not long ago and it arrived yesterday. Had a chance to try it out today and looks real fun! Hope to make and post some projects this weekend.

Daniel, it is snowy here too. It is lovely and we haven't got to do anything much today either. Not sure how much we are going to get. Your shrimp dish sounds good and I'm glad you get to make something you will both enjoy.

I realized that I didn't have a chance to clean up my craft area before Christmas so will do that today and hopefully find places for all the gifts we received. I don't plan to take down the tree till New Years.

Off to take a look at Daniel's "not resolutions" thread...

Have a great day!

Hi everyone!

Relaxing again after a lot of post-Christmas busyness. We had a great day with family on Thursday, and it was near the beach, so we went there, too. Beautiful day. Friday night away was nice, too, except that I got stung by a bee on my toe. Then yesterday I twisted my ankle stepping off the deck (which DH is always telling the kids not to do!), so now I'm being forced to rest! LOL. Probably a good thing - I'm not a relaxer by nature!

Heidi, that's a fantastic idea for babysitting "payment"!! We've so far not had to leave the kids with any non-family, but I always wondered what to do when we did - money might be insulting, but dinner is a perfect idea!

Well, have a great New Years Eve, everyone! (and the few days until then!).

LOL, Christan! Life is a 'BEE-ch', huh? Glad you had a good holiday despite the accidents.

Heidi. LOL on the 'extra kid'. Thot maybe you picked one up by accident. Spaghetti pie sounds good. How'd she make it?. A friend used to make baked spaghetti.

We had a decent amount of snow--probably 3"+. Neighbor cleaned our walk--Bless him! No need for us to venture forth 'til Wed. Glad 'cause it's just plain cold--even for me.

Got today's dinner prepped. Mom's in no hurry so I'm not either. We're having chicken livers sauted with onions. Not difficult, but have to watch them so they don't overcook. Doing toaster waffles, canned gravy & creamed corn so only 'real' cooking is the livers. I saute in oil & butter. Mom wants a glass of sherry so I'll open the new bottle. She likes it over ice.

Speaking of food... Since it's turned really cold, we both agree that it's 'meatpie weather'. Definitely next Sunday's dinner.

Craft front? Not sure. I inked all my new stamps--lots of arches & more. All are lovely!

Starting to think about challenges/swaps for 2013. Have a couple of 'seeds' planted in my head so far.

Gotta go cook. Have a good'un!

Mom's been 'fed & watered'. She pronounced the livers 'very yummy!' (high praise from her). She ate a full plate--livers, a waffle (with gravy) & a good helping of creamed corn. She decided to have tomato juice rather than sherry so it counts as another veg! Really pleased--she durn near licked her plate.

Since I don't have to do KP rightaway, I figured I stop back before I run out of steam & do some posting.

Hello! Daniel, I'm not sure how my friend made the pie, I will need to ask. It was very moist spaghetti topped with sauce, sausage and cheese. I'm not sure how the pasta stayed so moist even with baking. I will pass on the chicken livers!

Christin, In the US, it is polite to offer money even when you know it won't be accepted. It is a tricky situation sometimes though.

Stampwilly, can't wait to see what new techniques you are doing!

This morning we lost power for a couple hours probably due to the winds. Sure am glad it came back on and that it is nice and sunny out. We got about 4 inches of snow and it is quite cold so I expect it will stay a while. DS built a huge snowman.

I inked up my new lily of the valley stamp yesterday. My first attempt at coloring is a little too yellow. I don't have a "shadow" color for around the white blooms, so not sure what to do for that. I am using my spectrum noir markers, I could try pencils. I did clean up my craft area.

Trying to do some new years cleaning, plus I need to plan the menu for New Years brunch and do the shopping. Only a few friends can come this year. Ham is the main dish.

Stay warm!

Heidi. Can't wait to see you lily-of-the-valley piece! Suggestion for shading 'white'? I almost always use blue. For your flowers I'd use the lightest blue you have. You can always deepen the shadow if necessary.

Trying to remember what my friend's 'baked spaghetti' was like. I 'think' she did hers like a lasagna & 'under-cooked' the pasta so it would moisten from the sauce without getting mushy.

Glad your power outage was brief. Wind has not been a prob here.
