Sadly, I just discovered that I stored one of my Copic sketch markers without the chisel tip cap on... for who knows how long. Needless to say, it is completely dried out (even on the brush side which had the cap on). At this point, what is my best course of action... buy a new one? Replace the nibs and buy the refill for it? It is YG21 (Anise) so not one that I use often... and considering the refill alone is as much if not more than a new marker, I am tempted to just go that route. Any suggestions?

Hmmmm, that's a tough one. Maybe if you don't use it much, just get a Ciao? Yes, I believe the refill is substantially more expensive, but fills about 4 times. I haven't got to that point yet, though, fortunately.

Oh dear, I have been afraid of doing that. If it is a color that you don't use very offer to hardly ever, I would just not replace it. I haven't checked the price of Copics for some time. Maybe wait til you have a coupon to buy another.

Thanks for the reminder to check to see that all of mine have their caps pm.

I did the same thing and did not have to replace the nibs..
I pulled off both nibs and soaked them in alcohol overnight, then let them dry and refilled the marker as normal.
Works perfectly..

Thanks for the advice. And Happy Wife, thanks for the information on the nibs... I may try that. I found refill bottles for $5.59, so maybe this will not be as bad as I thought it would be. Sadly they are our of stock for that color, but I can be patient.
