Hoping (but doubt it) that lack of heavy traffic on our forum is all 'glitch-related'. 'Sok! We're still doing ok, right?

Had to laugh this morning. Kathy (SWL) posted on last week's chat asking about one for this week. LOL, Kathy! You could have started this week's chat with your post.

Anyhoo... Not sure I posted about my monday. Not too shabby, but definitely busy. We did the groceries in the morning & mom's (rescheduled) eye dr. appt. in the afternoon. Both went well. Mom's eyes are still working & not enough change to require new glasses. Saves her a bundle.

I made tater soup for our supper along with cheeseburgers. Turned out dead tasty. Mom wants some more fried mush today. Works for me. We're gonna have some sausages--links & patties--with it. And, of course--a mug of hot tea for momma.

Looks like the Saturn Storm won't be a biggie for our area. Chance of an inch or two of snow tonite into wed. Should be over by thurs.

Finished a recycle newspaper piece for a challenge. Turned out interesting--won't call it pretty. Definitely a 'me' sort of piece. And speaking of me (as I so often do), I'm starting to figure out my medal project for SY swap. Definitely want to make progress on it so I can mail it 'on time'.

Hope y'all are having a good today! Let us know!

I was too lazy to start a new chat. I have commented here and there on threads this week, but have been bogged down mentally and time-wise with school issues.

It is a bright, beautiful day here! Cool, but the promise of spring is in the air. Which is funny since it is supposed to snow. I hope this doesn't mess up an appointment I have on Thursday.

Glad your mom's eyes are doing well, Daniel. That is an appointment I need to get in too. Are you going to post your newspaper piece here? I'm not sure what you are describing?

Got a nice beef roast in the crock pot today. It should feed us for days! Probably will do egg noodles and a veg tonight.

Well, as soon as I'd started one someone else would have! LOL. But next time I will!

Glad mom's eyes are doing well.

Making a flat iron steak and scalloped potatoes for dinner.

We are snowed in yet again. About 4 inches on the driveway I'd say, The rest of the yard, maybe 8? Called the guy that plowed last year and he hasn't called me back. I sure don't want to have to shovel to get to work tomorrow, LOL

Snow day today so the kid and I both made a card for a Facebook challenge. I should post them. They are very different but we used the same requirements, hehehe.

Trying to figure out my tree tag and I got a technique done that I like, but should have stamped first, oops!

Monday was busy and ended with my local stamp club meeting! Good note to end on! We made a great card using a paper lunch bag and made a pocket card -- fun project! Will show it soon.

Today was good, I finished the pocket card we did at our meeting. Ran a few errands, put away craft stuff I took to the meeting last night and went to the hairdresser. It is real rainy here -- started around 5pm. Glad to be in and cozy. Had leftovers for dinner. Hope everyone has a good evening!

DGS and I worked on a project this week end -

Tried to post it, but got stuck on Step 5 with system error. will try again later to finish it.

DMIL in Missouri - was taken back to hospital in KC, MO with abdominal pain and had surgery last evening for a blood clot in the bowel, she is to have an angiogram this morning to check on possible blood clot in heart. So hard for dh - the waiting. DSIL and DN are with his mom and he will go as soon as he is needed. She hasn't been out of the hospital a month since the double pneumonia. She is 92.

I am working on cards for challenges and for my friend's birthday and getting ready to play with my stencils. Found some interesting ones at Hobby Lobby - some in craft section and some in with Acrylic paints.

We are to have maybe rain and upper 50's today. Hope to get time to go sit in the sun.

Here is our project that DGS and I built

Morning Happy Stampers.

So far nothing from Saturn--strange name for a storm. Looks like we'll miss any real precip, but it is a bit windy. Makes it feel so much colder--even I mind it.

The mush & sausage was yummy. We still have a small piece of un-fried to use, but it holds for quite a while in the fridge. Never tried freezing it.

Doing doggie soup for supper today. Should taste good on a blustery day.

Heidi. The newspaper piece is a recycle challenge I started on another site. Entries must use newspaper as a material & stamp on it. Our own StampWilly did a project that is fabulous! I'll have to see if she'll share it here @ 2Ps.

Kathy. LOL. Yeah, I KWYM about chat-starting. Hope you'll share the FB pieces.

Lickey. Hoping for the best for MIL. Bless her. Glad you & GS had fun. I'll have to check out the 'trap'.

Have a couple of domestic chores to tackle, then hope to make progress on the medal. It's 'due' before the April tag.

Hope y'all have a nice 'hump day'.

Howdy everyone. Well the promised rain and cold weather arrived. Not sure how much or what type of precipitation we will get, but it has been windy! I finished up my errands this morning so I won't have to go out later.

Ann, sorry to hear of all the complications with your MIL. I hope everything turns out fine in the end.

Last night I started my new step aerobics class. I was huffing and puffing and working hard to keep up with everyone else who had obviously done this before. It was more complicated than I though. At this point, we stopped to "march in place" and the teacher says, "Okay, that was your warmup, are you warmed up?" So I about ran out of the room in terror. I ended up doing okay, but it sure is hard to keep up with the real moves.

Crafting wise, I am trying to work out when I will work on different challenges. I need to plan before doing.

Dinner will be leftover beef. It was delicious last night, we'll just add different sides tonight and then bbq it tomorrow.

This week is flyin' by! It's cold here today but this weekend looks promising.

I've been having some computer issues lately so I haven't been on much. Hoping to get that resolved soon. Also, I seem to have done something to my heel and can't put much weight on it and it hurts to walk. So I have to go get that checked out tomorrow. So strange, I honestly don't know what I did to it but it hurts like the dickens! I broke this foot a few years ago and have always had issues with it but nothing like this. At least I can do some stamping sitting down!

I got an awesome RAk from Daniel in the mail! Great stamps and masks for them! I don't have images like this and I'm so excited to use them. Once I get my medal and April tag done, I'm putting them to good use.

SWLady, I bet your so tired of seeing snow! Sounds like you've been able to get some good craftng done!

Stampwilly, Your paperbag card sounds neat! Hope you'll share!

LickeyAn, so sorry about your mother in law. Hope everything gets better with her. Hobby Lobby does have a large variety of stencils. Far more than any other box store. I bet you got some good ones!

Daniel, How's the medal coming? I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

HowdyHeidi, good for your for trying a new class. I've only done a few and they are not my thing. I always feel so intimidated when I can't keep up. I tried a Spin class once and was pretty sure I was gonna die, lol!

I'm off to work on my medal some more. Have a good one!

Heidi I would have beat you out heading for the door! Glad you stuck around, but feel free to smack the instructor. That'll 'warm' her up.

Pug. Glad you like the stamps--they are odd, but fun. My fave is the 'alien'.

Got our doggie soup made. Smells & looks good. Think I got just enough rice in it. Mom's gonna have it with buttered saltines & a mug of tea.

Still breezy, but no precip so far.

Good Morning!

A 'first' for me... I used the 'ignore this member' option to delete my view of a Pea's posts! 'Her' posts never have anything to do with topics & they annoy me. I already reported 'her' to 2Ps previously & she's still posting.

The phone app still seems problematic.

My doggie soup was a big hit with mom. She wants more for supper today. It was good.

We have to do CVS today. Time for refills on mom's meds & they have some other buys we want to use.

Other than a stiff-ish breeze, we got nada from Saturn. And we're in for a good warm-up. We're talking Sunday dinner 'out'.

Oil man brought more fuel last night, so we should be good for a bit.

Wanna make more progress on my medal. Liking it so far.

Hope y'all have a great day.

Okay Daniel, I have to tell you your "doggie" soup is making me nervous...

It's been a busy week here, early in the week we put a new 5 gallon jug on our water cooler, not sure exactly where the problem was, but there was obviously a leak somewhere because it disgorged about 4 gallons all over the floor before we noticed. My son went downstairs to the basement and noticed water dripping through the ceiling.

Heidi, be careful with the aerobics class. About 2 weeks ago I started taking yoga classes and thought I was being careful, and not pushing too hard, but ended up with two swollen and painful knees. Finally on Tuesday I had to break down and go to the clinic...doesn't look like long term damage, thank heavens, but a few weeks of rest and some anti-inflammatories are in order...so much for doing exercise to improve my health. Going up and downstairs is the hardest and my computer is up stairs so I'm checking in here less frequently than usual.

Not doing much on crafting . Yesterday was youngest son's birthday so cake making was the highlight of the day...and I have been working on trying to improve my photo editing skills but haven't got around to doing much paper crafting or stamping.

LOL, GC! Not a 'bark in a bowlfull' with my doggie soup--just some moos, oinks & gobbles.

Bummer on the drip!

Good tip on the aerobics. So easy to ignore what our bodies tell us sometimes. We have steep stairs & some days the knees just creak big time for both mom & me.

Funny you mention that you're working on your skill @ photo editing. I just started a new thread that is photo/scan-related.

Hello! No snow for us, which is great because we were then able to get to our downtown dr appt and back with no issues with the roads. The little one needed a blood draw, and survived.

I am a bit tired though and am preparing some hot tea.

Daniel, I have ignored the member(s) too. They are irritating. I commented on another thread that I am not even sure they are human-- might be computer generated.

Gardencat, I'm sorry about your knees! Who knew yoga could do that (I have never tried it)!? It is a good warning to me. I am going to continue the class, but pace myself better and make sure to only do the easy version of the moves. A lot of my trouble was with the coordination and remembering the sequences. I actually didn't feel too bad afterwards. I am going to arrive earlier next week and claim the middle back spot! DH thinks he heard that it is good for your memory to do these coordinated exercises and since Alzheimers runs in my family, I think it is a good thing for body and mind.

What kind of cake did you make and did the water cause any permanent damage?

I have a pretty good idea for the medal swap and may start that today.

Yoga, Heidi? LOL! Time was I could do a 'lotus' without any problem. These days it would take a crane to get me in & out of that position.

ITA about the 'use your mind & body' as prventative medicine. Mom does read & work some of the newspaper puzzles, but she fights me about doing anything that smacks of the need to exercise her body even on a minimal basis. Not a case of 'can't'; just a case of 'won't'.

We made the CVS run. I had to contact them & deal with some glitches in their automatic refill program for some of mom's meds. And some probs are frankly due to mom as well. 'Sok. But some days I want to go live @ 'Shady Pines' (Golden Girls) & let mom live here.

LOL on the Shady Pines Daniel! (don't tell mom I laughed, hehehe)

Yep, we got lots more snow. It's pretty though. Had a guy come plow our driveway and boy did he do a lousy job. Still ice in spots and the end of the driveway is a slide!

I can hardly wait to see everyone's medals. I bowed out of that challenge but will love seeing the others.

I posted our snow day project here: Snow Day!

I am allergic to exercise! I think up and down the stairs 20 times a day counts! LOL

Doggie soup does sound scary! LOL. We are winging it for dinner tonight. I brought home bagels last night and we had those. Kid had McDonald's and hubby ate a late lunch. So maybe grilled tuna and cheese. yum!

GS - I have tried all types of exercise and the best for me now with my knees is walking and exercises in the pool. You still burn calories, but your whole body is cushioned by the water. Also you can still overdo it, but I love it and it is the best exercise that I have found and I used to do Jane Fonda Aerobics, but I am older now and hopefully have more sense. Where I go for the pool, is where I also have physical therapy and the water is 91 degrees more or less so you don't get cold and have the muscles tighten up. They also have a hot tub.

I am playing today and taking it easy, even napped.

Mom & I finished off the doggie soup yesterday. It was (Bow)Wow tasty! We're getting takeout from a the local Fish Fry today. Mom wants shrimp. I'd like Cat(fish), but they only have Cod.

Weather is ok today. Sat & Sun are looking real good--in the 50s & sunny. Gotta remember to set the clocks ahead sat. nite.

Working on the medal. I'm in the process of making the findings I need--jump rings. Not bad so far, but it's been a while since I've worked with chenille stems. Also have to decide how I want to handle the 'wearable' aspect. Think I have a pretty good idea of how I want to tackle it.

Looks like some places--north & east of us--are getting pretty good snow today. And (of course) there's a new storm forming out west.

Hope everyone has a terrific today!

I laughed when I woke up this morning because I looked out the window and saw snow. We are joking that the forecasters are really getting a beating this winter in our area! Kathy, I find it so hard to believe how much snow you've gotten this year when we've had so little. Too bad we can't average it!

DS had a play at school this morning. He was fabulous! He didn't get any of that from me, I probably would have fainted to have to speak out loud at school. Afterwards DH and I went to the warehouse club to pick up stuff. It is easier to get the big stuff with help. Got some new things to try like their lobster bisque and prepared chicken alfredo. I'm going to freeze many items since we are having company later this month.

Ann, our community center has lots of water classes for all different levels. There is a warm pool and a regular pool, so you do have to pay attention to that. A PT place might be "the place" to go though since they probably all have warmer water than a community center. My parents have a membership to a PT place they can go to when they don't have coverage for PT. They seem to like it well enough.

Daniel, I hope you enjoy your take out later on. I hope to be working on my medal today too. Have to do some housework before I can do that though, so have a wonderful day all!

Morning All!

Our supper was yummy! We both have enough leftovers for today. The fish & shrimp were both fried to perfection. And the sides (cole slaw & baked beans) were excellent. They make them from scratch!

Have to get my act together soon. We have to do banking this morning since the bank closes @ noon.

I'll catchya later!

Have a good'un!

It was a beautiful day here too. I should have spent more of it outside but the slight hint of spring in the air, got me looking around the house and thinking spring cleaning instead.

Once the real spring hits, there will be a lot to do in the garden so best if I get a bit of a start on the inside before then.

Tonight all my young folks were out for dinner so, with just me and hubby at home, we opted for tunafish sandwiches and home made coleslaw which was surprisingly good and wonderfully un-timeconsumng to make.

Not an auspicious start to this Sunday. The wall-hanging shadowbox in our living room gave way & crashed this morning. Luckily mom was not near it at the time! What a mess! I haven't sorted thru the debris, but I can see that some of mom's treasured knicknacks are gone. Looks like the hangers gave way after some 40 years of holding up. Bummer.

'Sok, tho'. It's only stuff. Mom's safety is a whole different thing & she's fine.

We're getting ready to venture forth for dinner @ our fave restaurant & we're going to enjoy ourselves!

Made more progress on my medal. Found some elements that might work to add to it.

Weather here is looking good for today & tomorrow. Mom has a dr. appt. on monday--regular check up.

Might get back online after dinner, but y'all have a terrific today!

Don't sweat the small stuff--it's all small stuff!
