Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good Monday. It is warm and beautiful here today. I have a lot of errands to run as usual for a Monday. Tonight I have my local stamp club meeting and we are doing a shoe box party. The theme is Farmer's Market -- fruits and veggies. I can't wait to see what everyone has come up with for their card. Have a great day!

Hi April! Beautiful here, too! Sunny & warmer (finally). Might even hit 80 midweek.

LOL. Almost was going to ask about 'show' box for your club meeting, but realized it might be 'shoe'. Fruits & veggies does sound like fun! Caught a few minutes of a Carmen Miranda flick this morning. Always loved her tutti-fruiti hats! Boom-chicky-boom.

Speaking of veggies... Mom had a couple of the leftover wings for her lunch & also munched a nice amount of celery with the blue cheese dressing. Plus we're having peppers & eggs for supper along with ham patties. I have to start building up my stock of (bell) peppers since we both like them in lots of stuff. I only have a green pepper for today & we both like the reds & yellows more. They're a bit pricey now, but freeze so well.

Sent my pal Beady 2 pieces to scan (& keep). Both are for various challenges.

Got my federal taxes filed yesterday. Just have to do state & local.

Don't have to start supper 'til later so I think I'll start on my May tag for the swap. I see we already have several who've finished theirs. I'll settle for having mine in the mail by the 20th.

Hope y'all have a terrific today!

Yep, Daniel, it is a SHOE box party! Sorry for the typo. I have fixed it. Got my vacuum back today so will have to vacuum soon. All the errands have been taken care of.

No prob on the typo, Willy. Thot for a moment you had a new club idea you were sharing.

On a sad note for those of my generation... Just learned that Annette Funicello has died. For those who don't recognize the name--she was an original Mouseketeer on the Mickey Mouse Club in the 50s & the dream girl of lots of teenage boys from that & her bikini films. She was also--by all reports--a lovely person, mother, wife & friend.

Gotta go start supper & then do some reading.

Afternoon all!

Well, it's almost nice here too! 48 degrees and the sun is out right now. Of course this morning when I needed to go out it was raining cats and dogs, lol.

Got some cards half done yesterday. I usually don't get time to craft on weekends. Can't wait to work on the 'patterned paper' challenge! I did one last week, but already mailed it and didn't take pictures, hehehe.

Busy week again this week. Seems like it's never ending these days. Got my inktense pencils and was hoping to work with them, then realized I don't have good black ink. It smears a tiny bit. I might work with it a little but ordered some Stazon. Won't get it for another week though.

Just having leftovers for dinner tonight. Since the kid has a friend here, we had pizza last night, and teriyaki chicken and rice the night before. Tonight it's everyone for themselves. First come first serve, hehehe. Then we are taking the visiting teen back to the airport tomorrow.

Well, off to be the 'soccer mom' some more. Seems like I've made 6 trips out today so far!

Happy Monday! Today the high was 77. Supposed to be in the 80's the next couple days. Although I had one kid home sick, we did get outside a bit and I cleaned out the deck box which holds toys and some tools.

Then I came inside and started working on organizing and throwing out some toys. I guess this is Spring Cleaning!

Daniel, I'm glad you got your taxes done. It is that time.
Stampwilly, hope you have fun at your stamping get together!

Kathy. Inktense! If you have heat embossing stuff, you may want to try heat embossing your image and then using the pencils. I saw this on a youtube video today and it looks easier than what I had been doing and it is waterproof. I thought it would be a great idea!

We had leftover grilled steak for dinner with new side dishes. It was good again!

I am still working on my ideas for my May tag, so I haven't started much of anything. Also have a vague idea for the photo inspiration.

Have a great evening all!

Please tell me I am not the only one that types out a big ol' post and hits the reply button instead of submit??!

So lets try again! Good morning all!

Stampwily, hope you had fun at your stamp meeting. Sounds like a fun theme!

Daniel, after seeing your April tag, I have dubbed you King of Masking. You created so much depth with your tag.

Kathy, I can't wait to see what you do with the inktense pencils. I saw a video too where they heat embossed the image first. I think you can also use Stazon or Ranger Archival ink too. That's typically what I use when working with watercolors.

Heidi, hope your DS feels better soon. Yay for getting a jump on some spring cleaning. I've been doing some outdoor clean up this weekend and plan to tackle some more indoor this weekend. I often wonder how we accumulate so much stuff?!

My mom came in for a visit this weekend. We had a great time and the weather was wonderful. We did a little shopping on Saturday. I got some new stamps that I desperately needed In my defense, they were dollar bin stamps. And I had a 15% off my purchase coupon so that made it even better. Gotta love a bargain!

We had a great doctors appointment and should find out next month if our little one is a boy or girl. Can't wait!

I've been busy working outside pruning my roses and shrubs. I cleaned out some pots and plan to do some planting over the next couple of days before our rain and cooler temps move in. Hope everyone is doing great today

'tis Tuesday! Didya'all know that Tuesday is named for the Norse/Germanic God of War (Tiw)?

Had a slight bump in the day's start. Mom was doing up her checks for the banking & couldn't find one. 'Sok. It showed up--right where it was supposed to be. We'd both missed seeing it several times. So LOL, Pug! Yep! Real easy to hit the wrong button on a post or miss seeing something. So BTDT!

Weather is gorgeous here--sunny & warm! We're gonna do banking & groceries after noon--won't wait too late.

Got confirmation that my (federal) return was accepted. Good. Gonna do state & local tomorrow.

Heidi. Sorry 'bout the sick kid. Hopefully the warmer weather will help recovery.

Kathy. LOL on the PP challenge. I'm looking thru my stash to find the ugliest ones I have & see what I can do to/with some.

Pug. LOL on the baby! Sure you want to know whether its XX or XY? Glad you had a good visit with your mom. And LOL on the stamp buy! No need to defend a need to accquire. I'm actually jonesing for the tree stamp Melissa used for her April tag. I love what she did & can see so many possibilities for the image--everything from spooky tree(s) to Christmas trees & clouds.

Best watch the time so we can get out to do our running around. Catchya later. Have a terrific day, all!

Hello. No, I did not know that about Tuesday. Interesting!

Today is another sunny, warm day. Supposed to be warmer than yesterday by a bit. Have a few windows open to air out the house.

Turns out DS has pneumonia. It's a shame since he was supposed to start soccer practice this week. While we were picking up his meds, he spotted the box of 96 crayons, so we got that. I remember others were talking about the gel crayons not long ago, and I love them too!

I got my stamping/masking figured out for the May tag, but I messed up my coloring (because I was in a hurry) so I will need to redo that.

LeighAnn, that is fun that you got new stamps!

We may be ordering something for dinner tonight since I can't get out to the store.

Pneumonia, Heidi? Well that sucks--'specially since the weather is turning nicer. Hope he's out kicking the ball around soon!

Got the banking & groceries done. Mom wants some of her chicken & noodles for her supper. Might interest her in a White Castle slider, too. Got a pack of 6 (frozen) at the market. They're a perfect size for her appetite. Me? I need a sack full of the belly bombs. Love my junque food!

Gonna check on mom & then start some crafty stuff. Catchya later!

Oh no Heidi! Poor guy, hope he feels better soon. Pneumonia is awful. Hopefully the meds will work soon. Nice of you to get him the big box of crayolas, how fun! Have you tried the metallic ones yet? I saw those at a target the other day and almost bought them. I thought they might be fun to use on black paper.

Daniel, your appetite cracks me up! I'm not much on junk food. I do eat it occasionally but with both pregnancies I crave some of the junkiest of foods! I've had to give in to some of those cravings too. Like cheese fries and chips and dipIt's weird because when I'm feeling nauseous I want bad food. Healthy food makes me

Sorry to hear about your son, Heidi. I hope he gets better real soon.

Went to a neat town with a friend today. We shopped and ate at a nice Thai restaurant. Was a beautiful day, in the 80's.

I tried a new recipe for supper that my husband wanted me to try. I made corn dog muffins and we had baked beans with them. They turned out pretty good. They are basically cornbread muffins with pieces of hot dogs in them.Talk about junk food! LOL! Anyway, once in awhile is okay, right?

Everyone have a good night!

Thanks for the well wishes for DS. Yes, I was surprised when the doctor started talking about crackles and wheezes in the lungs too. It seems like his 5 day fever has finally broken today and he is supposed to go to school tomorrow if he feels like it. The harder thing will be negotiating when to start participating in soccer.

It was pretty hot last night and uncomfortable in parts of the house. I am a bit worried that it will get too hot today to be comfortable. I am getting the housework out of the way this morning so I won't have to be moving around later on.

Haven't made much progress on my craft projects, but that is because of lack of time, not lack of ideas.

Daniel, I love white castle burgers. Do you think the boxed kind are close to as good as the restaurant? I don't have a restaurant nearby, but I have seen the burgers in the freezer section at the grocery.

LeighAnn, I will probably be convinced to purchase the extra set of metallic crayons if I see them. I love having every color! At one time I had every color of sharpie. Still have many of them.

Stampwilly, the corn dog muffins sound good. That sounds like a good superbowl type food too.

Have a great day!

Oh my gosh! I do this all the time! I get so annoyed with myself! LOL

Spent all day yesterday driving back and forth to the airport in the pouring rain. It's a 2 hour drive one way and it rained cats and dogs!

Heidi, sorry about the pneumonia! Hope he feels better soon.

We just had grilled cheese last night. I wasn't in the mood for cooking. The kid has decided to give up her pescatarian ways! yay! I can cook meat again, lol I want a stuffed meatloaf, and polish sausage with potatoes and... hehehe. All the stuff that is way too much for just 2 people to eat!

Gonna try and work with the inktense today. Got some housework to do though and taxes so not sure how much time I will have!

Everyone have a great day!

Happy Hump Day!

Weather. Sunny & already very warm. Slight chance of showers later today. Not too uncomfortable, but I hearya Heidi. Our upstairs bedrooms are very warm at night. Mom actually said it was too warm for her! I laughed loudly since she is never warm enough. Gonna cool down a bit by friday > weekend.

LOL on the junk food! Willy. You had me @ hello with the corndog muffins! Since they're baked rather than deep-fried, they qualify as healthy, right? I'd probably do them as a variation on 'toad-in-the-hole'--substituting the cornmeal batter for the yorkshire pudding & cut spicey hot dogs instesd of sausages. Baked beans sounds good as the side.

About the White Castle, Heidi. As frozen goes, the belly bombs aren't bad. The nuke in seconds & the bun has that nice soft steamy restaurant texture. Gonna see if mom wants one for her lunch today. I got a great buy on the 6-pack. They were on sale & I had a $1 off coupon on top.

Craft. Reviewing my remaining 'must starts'. Got the May tag & a medal for swaps. For challenges there's the PP & Marshia's 'leaves'. That should keep me hopping.

Hope y'all have a great day today!

I turned on the air conditioner today! Really hot outside and inside, but I am glad it is warm. We might have nasty thunderstorms tomorrow night they are saying.

Went to Bible Study this morning. Had my friend bring her grandkids over this afternoon to see our mounted animals. Yes, I live in a zoo! My husband is a big game hunter and has brought home a lion, leopard, zebras -- you name it! The 4 year old boy wanted to know if he could "ride" the lion! LOL! You've got to love 'em!

Getting ready now to finish my last Christmas card for the Christmas All Year challenge. Will post them soon.

Take care.

We've had to turn our AC on too. It was 87 here yesterday!

We're supposed to be getting some bad storms this afternoon. It's suppose to bring some cooler temps for a day or so but nothing too drastic. I've got some indoor spring cleaning that needs to be done so I plan to do that today. My dogs are not allowed on furniture and lately anytime we're gone they have been making themselves cozy on the couch. While we were out yesterday, one or both got into some mud and now I get to clean the sofa. . Guess it's time to start crating them while we're gone again.

Heidi, I think I'm going to buy those metallic crayons next time I'm out too. I mostly color with my prismacolors but lately my leads have been breaking like crazy. It's so frustrating. So I've been using my crayons more.

We grilled a fantastic dinner last night of steak, corn on the cob and had a salad for the other side. The steak was one of the best ones we have done. Not sure what's for dinner tonight, guess I need to start deciding that.

Nothing much on the craft front. I've made a little and I mean very little progress on my May tag. I plan to do that this weekend. I also plan to start cleaning out some craft stuff. That may take awhile. I've got boxes of stuff that I'm not even sure what's in them.

I'm off to start working on my to do's for the day. Have a good day everyone.

Hi Everyone. The high yesterday was 91. Ick. Then about 8 pm, DS got a nosebleed and then a moment later, "POOF," the pressure dropped and the wind whooshed through the windows and knocked down a bunch of stuff (and some dust!) all around. The temperature dropped to about 60 degrees in just moments after the thunderstorm started.

The DS with pneumonia is back at school today. I think he will be fine, maybe just tired at the end of the day. My other DS is off for a few days, so this week, I have been entirely unable to do errands.

I am in the middle of redoing my masked item.

LeighAnn, where did you purchase your Prismacolors? I had heard that the ones in the big craft stores have been having a problem with the breaking lead. I wonder if they are lesser quality or just have been battered in the process of getting to the shelves....?

Kathy, I'm glad you can prepare meat for your whole family now. Much easier that way. Last night, I took it easy and just prepared breakfast for dinner. I haven't decided about tonight's dinner yet.

Have a great day!

8pm storm, Heidi? Sounds like the line that came thru here about 6pm. It was a gully-gusher with plenty of oomphy wind. We were spared any major problems--thankfully. Another line came thru here around 9pm--less windy, but good rain. We needed it. Looks like a steady rain for us later tonite. 'Sok. No place we have to go.

I used frozen for last nite's supper--cheese-stuffed pasta (shells) & meatballs in marinara sauce. Surprisingly tasty & mom enjoyed both. Even have a few leftovers. Mom had a good breakfast so she's not real hungry. Might do chicken pies for our supper.

Coming along with the auditions for my May tag. Found the 'star' image. Now looking for the rest of the 'cast'. Also got some cans cut so I can start working on the medal. I know this one is going to take me some time & effort--including lots of trial & error for some of the mechanics. Hmmm...'Mechanics' just gave me an idea to try for that project. Better get 'moving'

Hope y'all have a terrific today! Catchya later!

Taking a (very) short breather from domestic (& stamp) stuff.

Just put the supper in the oven & gathering up the trash to put out for tomorrow's pick up.

Think I've found all the stamps I want to use for my MAY tag. Now I want to do a sheet (or 2) of the images so I can check them out & see which way I might go with the composition. What's really 'fun' is that several of the images have never been inky & I've had them for a couple of years.

I finally got my design team stamps yesterday and have made 3 cards with them today. I need to make one more and email instructions and pictures tomorrow. This is a new set they need samples of ASAP! Then I have 4 more to make with another set, but they are not in a rush for those.

Still warm and windy here today. I just got back from walking. Supposed to get thunderstorms this evening.

Dinner will be a hodgepodge of things. At least we have several things to pick from!

Hope you all have a good night!

Gosh where is everyone today? I have been hibernating, LOL. It's cold and dreary here.

I am totally stumped on my tag. What I thought I would do isn't working....
I am doing a mother's day card and it's missing something... I can't figure out what....
I tried to do some sewing and couldn't get into that either!

Well... gonna go make polish sausage and fried potatoes for dinner. That should get me going! Probably with heartburn, hahaha!

Everyone have a great weekend!

Kathy, I was thinking the same thing!

I've been working and out running errands today. Our storms weren't bad at all, nothing like they expected. Today is sunny and low 60s. Beautiful day.

Kathy sorry your weather is so dreary! Your dinner sounds so good. Perfect for a cold yucky day.

Stampwilly, I loved your watercolor cards you did. So pretty!

Heidi, glad DS is feeling better. I purchased my prismacolors from Amazon over a year ago. I'm considering writing the company. I even bought their sharpener since I read several reviews that its recommended and the leads still break.

Daniel, stuffed shells sounds so good! I think I might make those on Sunday. Can't wait to see what you do with the metal cans!

I've got some stamping plans as well as some major organizing craft supply plans this weekend. Since I'm losing my craft closet this fall I decided to go ahead and get everything done now so I don't have to mess too much in the garage this summer when its too hot.I think I've got a good plan figured out for storing some stuff inside. I got some containers on sale today that will work great. I also got some stamps I really need to stop! And I got some metallic crayons to try out.

Easy dinner tonight, Stromboli sandwiches and chips.

Have a great night everyone!

Thanks, LeighAnn, for your nice comment on my Christmas cards. I am glad I have them done for this month.

Finished 4 cards and uploaded the pics and instructions to the design team today. I have 4 more to go.

Our storms were not too bad either. Very windy today sending the storms away!

Have a good night, everyone.

I haven't checked in forever. I had a really good reason for my absence. My DH bought me a home for our eighteenth wedding anniversary! He surprised me with the news around Valentine's Day. I kept it quiet because I was scared to say anything and jinx it, lol. It was honestly the most stressful & nerve wracking thing my DH & I have ever been through. We have been through a lot. My art studio was packed away in March while we waited to move in. We moved into our new dream home last week. My DH has his own art studio. I have my own art studio. My DH has messy art and blowing up things like glass. He does glass fusing for one of his crafts. I am the one with all the small items and pretty inks (his words). We knew that two art studios were a must when we went home shopping. I love my new home. Best present ever. My DH surprised me yesterday with three beautiful rose bushes for our yard. I love to garden.

Today is our anniversary. We are spending a romantic day picking out a range, lol. Yes, we have no appliances, ROFL. We do have a small refrigerator which is perfect for us. We have our small kitchen appliances.

I hope you all have a great Saturday. I hope it warms up for everyone going through the cold.

What a great surprise, Lyla! Wow! I know you are glad to have 2 studios. Enjoy your new home!

I went to Lowe's today to buy flowers, but drove right on past after seeing the crowds! I have never seen Lowe's that packed before. Will wait for a calmer day. LOL!

Hoping to get a walk in pretty soon. Then I need to upload some things onto the computer.

Happy saturday to everyone!

Wow, Lyla! Enjoy your new home! That must be so fun to have a studio for you and DH!

Yesterday was a stressful day with school meetings. Thankfully the results ended up good. I also have been having a difficult time with my May tag and getting any crafting actually completed. Hopefully that will change soon.

April, it is feeling springy here today and I bet the home stores are busy with people who realize the projects they now have. We've had a lot of warm days and then lots of rain, so now we have hundreds of weeds in the garden all of a sudden! I need to find my gardening gloves.

LeighAnn, I'm glad you got a plan for your craft storage! Yay!

Soccer was cancelled today, so we have a bit more free time. And I'm glad DS has a bit more time to recover before playing. I've already done the cleaning and am working on laundry. The laundry pile doesn't care that it is Saturday. I absolutely must go to the grocery store today!! We are out of everything!

I really like the new release of Heartfelt Creations brand stamps this month. I have not purchased any before, does anyone else have some?

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Oh sure, Lyla! Just abandon us in favor of DH & new house & all that other trivial stuff! Humph!!! Congrats on the anniversary, new house & all that, pal!

Gardening? I only plant silk flowers these days. Not kidding! I inherited a green thumb from Mom & Dad, but loath the work. Durn shame you can't eat artificial veggies & fruits!

We had some good rains past couple of days. Alas they were accompanied by a cool down. 'Sok, tho'. We're due to get back to 60s next week & those temps might stick.

Spent the best part of yesterday morning & afternoon trying to fix a puter problem. That'll teach me to watch what buttons I push! Got my 2 latest pieces uploaded finally--mosaic & a PP piece (not for the challenge).

Just finished filing my state taxes (by phone). No probs & I owe no tax. Have to do local, yet. But that's not difficult.

We opted for takeout last nite. Mom got a Calif. Burger & I had Gyros. We both got our daily allowance of meat & veggies. Mom's had breakfast & finished the rest of her burger for lunch. Neither of us knows what we want for supper, tho'.

LOL on the May tag! I'm up to 8 images & a (possible) layout that's gonna need some heavy duty masking. So far it's all 'regular', but might see if I can go 'mortise' just to make myself work!

Lyla. Does DH do 'lampwork' glass? What's his 'fused' glass? Would love to see examples ('specially if you add stamping to the pix you share). But no pressure.

Heidi. Glad DS has a break on the soccer game & hope you have fun with the weeds.

Pug. Happy moving! 'Bout time you got out of the closet!

Y'all have a great rest of today. Might catchya later.

Thank you everyone for the sweet congratulations!

Stampwilly- Lowe's was CRAZY! I don't blame you for driving by. I had to return a light fixture. I didn't go until around 8p.m. due to the crowds. I drove by around four and it was packed. DH & I did a little bit of shopping at Lowe's. We got something to repair a broken doodad on one of our window screens. I picked up a plexiglass sheet to use as a paint palette. We all know Lowe's is a big craft store, lol.

Daniel- DH does lampwork, stain glass. He is making a lot of glass fuse beads. He does want to make the more intricate animals.

I promise I will do pics. I am in a better setup now that I can. I am excited about it. I do want to journal my & DH's work.

Saturday was beautiful & warm. DH & I did a lot of buying things for our home. I did get to stop by Scrapbook Generations & Michael's. I bought some pretty paper at SG. Michael's I bought a new pendant and some stickers. I was a big spender, lol. I did go to JoAnn's but I didn't buy anything.

My new appliances are ordered. Grocery shopping done for the week.

Sunday I am planting my new rose bushes. I have two more sets of curtains to make. Then I can start setting up my art studio so I can start creating again.
