I'm in hot water--thank goodness! The new water heater is in place & working well. Hooray! Guy has to come back tomorrow to do a quick chore since he didn't have a particular tool with him. No prob. He put a new (better) shutoff on the main water feed along with easy shutoffs for the water heater.

Such a relief to be drip free & able to use hot water. He set the temp on the lowest. Plenty hot enough!

I made (our) pea soup for today's supper. Just have to warm it when mom's ready to eat.

Finished the mystery last nite. It's the latest Miranda James (Cat in the Stacks series). Lead character is 'Mr. Charlie' & his cat--a Maine Coon named 'Diesel'. Not a bad plot. I spotted the murderer about 2/3 thru, but the author did some good twists right up to the finish. She plays fair with reader, too. She provides good clues & a few red herrings for extra flavor.

Gonna work on my medal & other projects for a bit.

Weather here isn't as rainy as predicted. We're to the west of the steadiest rain.

Catchya later. 'Til then, have a good'un.

Heidi, thanks for sharing your painting. So bright and pretty!

Daniel, I know you are glad to have hot water now.

Went to Wally World this morning. Will have chicken chili if it rains, or chicken fajitas if not -- I can grill the chicken for them if not.

I took a walk since the sun was peeking through the clouds. I wasn't sure if it would be rainy later.

My cats were wild a little earlier, running, fighting, and chasing. I think they hunkered down the last 2 days because of the rain and now they are ready to play since the sun came out.

I may try another technique today. Will see what I can find that looks interesting.

Ya'll have a great day!

Howdy! Daniel, I'm so glad you have hot water. What a relief! I haven't read any of those cat books, although I have heard of them. I am supposed to be reading Thomas Jefferson: Art of Power by Meecham for my book club. I need to get started on that!

Thanks for your comments on my painting. It IS bright, but I like it. I paired it with some more muted items now in a grouping on top of my craft cabinet. I think that helps. My friend chose other colors, but that was an added challenge for her in following the directions. Lyla, the class is really informal, not so much art class as party with painting.

Today was rainy, cool and dreary. April, sometimes I think cats know what is going on with the weather too. I'm glad you got a walk in.

Today I worked on Christmas cards and my medal.

Daniel- I love the cat mysteries. I love Maine Coon's. They are the sweetest cats in the world. I miss my Maine Coon every single day. He went to Rainbow Bridge several years ago.

I am so happy you and your Mom have hot water again.

Stampwilly- I know my cats are going crazy too. My cat kept waking me up to tell me all the things she saw outside the window, lol. Both my girls are asleep right now. Peace in the home again, lol. I love it when they are active it always makes me laugh.

It was a beautiful warm day here. Lots of sunshine and lawn mowing. A beautiful husky came to visit my home today. He spotted one of my cats and had to say hi. He really liked her. She didn't like him as much. He was standing at my window barking early this morning when I was sleeping, lol.

I spent the day working on my art studio. It will be done tomorrow. I am so relieved. It did turn out very pretty. Why it took so long was because I wanted to make a room that would grow with me as I grew as an artist. I think I have accomplished this. I have a lot of decorator boxes filled with small items and I had to go through every single one and make sure nothing broke during the move. So far nothing is broken.

I hope you all have beautiful weather tomorrow. We are supposed to get snow on Thursday. That is crazy! It was around eighty degrees today. I study weather and I have always said drought Summers make long winters. I didn't realize it was going to be this long though, lol.

Morning All!

LOL on the snow, Lyla! It certainly has been an interesting Winter for some folks. I think we've turned the corner here. Temps are definitely staying more moderate. Overcast today with a slight risk of showers. Otherwise weather's good.

Mom's been feeling a bit off last few days so I'm keeping an eye on her. Neither of us had soup yesterday so I'll reheat it today.

Not planning much for today. Have to see what needs doing--household & craft.

Hope y'all have a terrific today!

Really warm with sunshine today! YEAH! Have done a few household errands.

Lyla, I know you are glad your studio is finished. Feels good to have it done and ready to work in.

I worked on a technique yesterday. Waiting on new stamps to come to use with it.

Will be getting a haircut this afternoon. It really needs it. Hoping to get a walk in a little later too.

Hope ya'll have a wonderful day!

Morning all!

A bright and sunny day here too!

I've been doing some work stuff this morning and uploaded a couple cards. Also did the June tag swap thread. I can't believe we are on our 6th tag! It's been so much fun.

I've got house chores, laundry and work on the agenda today. The usual.
It's warming up nicely so I'm taking DS out to play soon.

Have a good day everyone!

Heidi, I just checked out your painting. You did great! Love the bright bold flowers! I've been to a few of those parties and taught a couple of them too. There lots of fun! Everyone seems to have a good time. The place near us had a couples night once where you do one canvas and your partner does the other. I tried to talk my DH into going and he refused. He said it would stress him out, he's way to much of a perfectionist.

Thanks LeighAnn! I'd love to take a class from you! I'm not sure if DH would do the couples painting or not.

The weather really cleared up as the day went on today. I did my grocery shopping and got a haircut. We will be having tacos for dinner tonight. Sounds good, I haven't had them in a while.

Craftwise I am focusing on getting that medal done! I think that May is going to be a more "on time" month for me with crafting. I am starting to think about Patriotic crafts. I need a few things for decorating for the summer holidays. I don't really have any patriotic stamps. I have been eyeing that new set of Tim Holtz patriotic ones--those ones with all the measurements on them. hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Oh, I also stopped in Marshalls today and got an Inkadinkado set of stamps for $1.50. You never know what you are going to find in a store like that!

Have a great Tuesday!

It went from nice/kinda chilly in the shade to blazin hot. And we're suppose to be mid 50s for the weekend. Make up your mind, weather!

I got a fun package of stamped images From EagertoRetire today! She and I traded some images and I got lots of fun new ones to work with. Can't wait to play with them

I'm taking a break from working so I thought I would come chat a bit.

Daniel, glad you got your hot water back! I may have to check out some of those books from the library soon. I love mysteries.I used to read a ton but its hard for me to find the time lately. I really miss it. I hope your mom is feeling better.

Lyla, glad you're feeling better and getting your art studio pretty and ready! How exciting! I would love to have a space where I could leave my stuff out all the time.

Stampwilly, I checked out your blog this weekend. You have so many great techniques and wonderful creations! I've added you to my blog reader list, I love visiting craft blogs.

Heidi, I've been eyeing those stamps too.I've seen so many great projects made with them. I really like the mini sets. I will be going by an Archivers next week and was hoping to see them in person. It's weird but I've noticed there aren't many patriotic stamps out there. At least none in big box stores.

Has anyone tried any if the Dylusions ink sprays? That's another thing I've been eyeing. I've seen a couple of videos and prospurring posted some cards using them. The colors look so vibrant. I'm a little scared of sprays since I usually make a big mess with them! Has anyone tried making their own?

Well break time is over, since nap time will be up soon and I still have a few more work related things to tend to.

Have a good one!

I have a few of the Dylusions Sprays. I really like their vibrant colors. LeighAnn I have not heard of a recipe to make them, have you? They are not using the same color names as any other Ranger products so I don't know what you would use as reinkers. Since they are so vibrant there is no sparkle in them. The colors go together very well and blend like distress inks. I spray them in a small box to contain the overspray.

Daniel- I hope your Mom feels better.

lovepug- I make my own sprays. I have several different recipes I use for different looks. If I have seen a video or tutorial on it I have added it to my spray mist collection. I never buy sprays because I like to make my own color schemes. I do a lot of painting in different mediums so I have all the ingredients already in my collection to make sprays.

It was a lovely day here in the eighties. I finished my studio today. I am so happy. I can start creating again. I am taking a couple days off before I create so I can gather my projects together. Plus, I am just tired from moving, lol. I want to relax and watch YouTube videos.

Ok, I don't think they should be allowed to have a 'reply' button so close to the 'submit' button that you are actually supposed to hit after typing a long involved post, thoughts you had that will never come back to you! LOL

I missed the deadline for the PP challenge! Have 3 cards started here....

We hit 80 yesterday. Oh my goodness! Now it's supposed to be 50 today, lol. Sounds like everyone is having a good week so far. I have been busy busy. Kid is in the play this weekend and this is what they call 'hell' week since rehearsal is every day after school until 9 or 10. Mom's have organized dinner for them every night this week. Last night was taco night and I swear they are a ton of tacos!

Tomorrow I am going to Nancy's Notions store with a friend. You know.. Nancy from the TV sewing shows? She has a big warehouse sale once a year and I need thread, hehehe.

Off to my one day a week job today. Everyone have a great day!

Cloudy here and breezy, but still fairly warm. After lunch I get to go direct traffic at my hubby's job site. They are boring through the road for the sewer line. Hope the rain holds off, only 20%, so I hope we are not in the 20%! Hubby will be at the dentist all afternoon getting a root canal on one tooth and a temporary cap on another. He has had a hard time with his teeth lately -- this will make 7 caps so far!

Hope everyone has a great day!

LOL on the weather, Pug et.al.! Could be worse. We could be in Denver! From 80>30 in a day & lots of snow.

Nice to see so many posters today.

Weatherwise we're fine--sunny & warm. A bit frosty between mom & I, however. Nothing special, just the usual. LOL! My ask her if she'd like me to put the 'Elderly Abuse' phone # on speed dial. Nyah. That won't work. I'd have to show her how to use speed dial & that would just make things 'worse'.

Gotta watch my time. Mom wants a shrimp stirfry for supper. Sounds good to me & ain't asking if she still wants it. I have learned from experience--ho, ho, ho.

Hope to touch base later today. Just taking a short break from working on my medal's assembly. First approach wasn't working for me & I want to get it finished so I can play with other stuff.

'Til then...Y'all have a good one!

Good news/bad news... Relations have warmed (good news), but the extra (frozen) shrimp I added to the stirfry taste like iodine! Yuk! Mom tasted one, but did not eat it (smart!) I'm going to throw it all out & not buy that brand again.

Tomorrow looks like a domestic chores day--laundry, etc.

SWLady- I love Nancy. I hope you find lots of beautiful threads. Taco night sounds so yummy. I know what I am having for dinner tomorrow, lol. Thank you for the idea because I was stumped trying to figure out what to make for supper tomorrow night.

Stampwilly- Your poor DH. I hope he went through his surgery well and that he recovers quickly.

Daniel- Your stories about your sweet Mom always make me smile. Tomorrow will be a new adventure. I have gone through the phone dramas with my Mom too. I am sorry the shrimp stir fry turned out to be a disaster. What a nightmare. I would have been so upset.

It was a beautiful day here in the eighties. We are about ready to get Denver's weather system. I will soon be closing the windows. I keep thinking the poles have flipped, lol. Do you think the South Pole is having Spring?

I woke up with a fever. I just knew I was coming down with something. I really did not get a lot done today. I got all my housework done. I always get sick in April. I know it's May but I think it's lingering. It's really the only time of the year I get sick. I am just happy I didn't get sick when I was moving. That would have really been a nightmare, lol. I spent the day surfing the web.

I hope it's warm and beautiful for you all tomorrow.

Morning All!

Lol on my 'sweet' mom. She's about as 'sweet' as I am. I felt bad about the shrimp, but glad mom caught it. She said the rest of the stirfry was ok & it doesn't seem to have caused her any problem. I threw the remainder in the trash. No idea what we're eating today. Nothing sounds good--not even take out.

Weather here is nice, but can't get over the places still getting snow in May. Somebody definitely didn't get the memo that it's Spring.

Gotta do some laundry & run the vacuum. I finished assembling my swap medal. I like it.

Sorry you're 'under the weather', Lyla (both ways) hope you & the weather improve.

Best get crackin' on the chores... Have a good'un.

I have not be very active on the chat threads or any other threads for a couple of weeks and I will be out of town next week, but I am following along. Just not much to add as I have not been crafting, keep meaning to, but then I end up doing something else.

Hope to get back to being more active by the middle of May.

Keep the home fires burning.

You all take care and enjoy the spring. We were 35 degrees this morning, but suppose to get up to 60.

Take care.

Hi Everyone. It's a nice day here today and I can't believe how crazy the weather has been for everyone lately!

I've been busy with some work related stuff and did a ton of laundry yesterday. I'm good at doing it but not so much at folding and putting away. I really need to work on that. In between that I've been trying to finish up my medal but have had some assembly issues. I think I've got it figured out and fingers crossed will have it mailed out today or tomorrow. Once that's finished, I plan to start my June tag and get some Mother's Day cards done.

SWLady, I like your new profile pic! Hope you find some bargains at the warehouse sale today.

Daniel, that stinks about the shrimp! I've had that happen a few times with meat and it makes meal time difficult. Hope you and your Mom get your appetite for the day!

Stampwilly, your poor DH! Root canals and teeth problems are the worst! Hope it wasn't too bad.

Lylacfey, I've watched a few videos on making ink sprays lately. I've got some of the ingrediants to make some so I definitely wanna try and make some. They are so expensive in the store! Hope you feel better soon.

Well lunch is over, I've been on a big salad kick lately so that's what I had. Tonight will probably be spaghetti night. But I've really got a craving for Chinese. DH doesnt like chinese food so I may take advantage of that and get that for dinner and make spaghetti tomorrow. That's all for now, Have a good one.

I had root canal done in the late '70s. Was dreading it, but turned out to be no-pain. And had a good dentist.

Tomorrow is trash pick-up so gotta clean the fridge out--lots of dribs & drabs to deal with. Got some cooked wings (still good). Mom says she'd like them fried up for supper. Have some leftover veggies that we can use to eke out the meal.

Kathy, love your new profile picture! You'll have to tell us what you bought!

Lyla, I really felt badly most of today. I hope you are feeling better by now. I am feeling a lot better. Hope it lasts!

Daniel, I'm sorry about your bad shrimp. What a disappointment! I can imagine I would be turned off by food for a while after that.

Our weather was very nice today. I had to shut the windows since a neighbor (teen) had a fire outside and was burning who-knows-what. I can barely imagine the weather in the snowy regions! It is a bit of a strange spring though as so much is blooming (forsythia, dogwoods, redbuds, all kinds of flowers, etc) all at once. They usually are more staggered over a couple weeks' time.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Heidi- That suck you felt bad today. I hope you feel better for the weekend.

I have a lung infection. I always get lung infections, respiratory infections or something of that nature in April. It's like clockwork. The good news I don't suffer the rest of the year.

It was cold and raining today. The kind of cold rain that lets you know Winter is coming soon. Of course it's Spring, lol. We are expecting at least one to three inches of snow tonight.

I had pizza tonight. DH & I didn't feel like cooking dinner. I live in a college town so pizza restaurants are super cheap here.

I spent the rest of the day doing housework, surfing the web & reading.

Lovely day today! Sunny and not too hot. I went to some craft stores. I found some stamps and distress markers to buy. I went crazy because they were all on clearance!

I have a feeling when schools lets out there are going to be a dozen kids in my yard because of the weather and them being excited about the weekend.

I plan on trying to finish up the cleaning as well as I can and then do some crafting.

Pork for dinner tonight. I am going to marinade it in something citrus-y. Not sure if I will oven bake or grill them.

Lyla, I hope your lung infection passes soon.

We had a snowstorm here today in the South. Snow came down in a fury. The flakes were the size of half dollars. It was really pretty even if it's May.

I ran errands for most of the day in the pretty May snow. May in the Ozarks is usually very humid, very stormy and hot! I got lots of pretty craft supplies today. There were a lot of good deals at my favorite craft stores. I got my Mother's Day gift early. My DH got me an iPad mini! I am so excited. I can start taking photos of my creations and make a few videos.

Happy Today, fellow StamPeas!

Weather here is gorgeous! Warm & sunny with a nice breeze. Was going to wash sheets today, but they'll wait for monday--still calling for 'nice' into the first part of next week.

Did some more on my medal this morning & have some work started on my June tag for SWL. Not gonna spoil it, but since Spring is sparse up in Wisconsin, I figure Summer might be equally 'interesting' this year.

After seeing Pug's request for a chicken wire stamp source, I'm fighting the urge to order stamps. Durn your hide, Pug! Also got an email from IBFS. They have 2 'new' half-sheets of birdcages that look very interesting. Dang!

Lyla. LOL on the "lung infection like clockwork..."! You need to invest in a new clock, pal! I hearya on the 'pretty' snow, but May would be pushing it for moi!

Heidi. LOL on the 'kids in the yard'. I can remember how it felt to get out of prison (school) & have several hours of sunny & warm to play. Sounds like your yard is the kid magnet. Good for you!

I started a 'Derby' challenge. Hope y'all will play 'cause it's easy!

That's it for now. Hope y'all have a great today!

Happy Saturday y'all!

It's cold and rainy here today. It was mid 70s yesterday and its in the 40s today. Big difference! It's suppose to me cool and rainy for the next couple of days. At least it's not snow. I don't mind cold weather but it is May after all! We're usually having summer by now

I've been catching up on household chores today. I made a batch of cookies and used regular oats instead of quick oats(which is what the recipe called for) and they were terrible. So now I need to clean that mess up.

I'm finishing up some Mother's Day cards and am going to make a get well card. My sweet Granny fell yesterday. Luckily nothing is broken just banged and bruised up. She's 89 and still lives alone but those days are getting numbered. She does great for her age though.

Heidi and lylacfey sounds like you both got some new goodies! How fun
Heidi, I have the distress markers, I need to play with them more. I like them a lot for watercoloring.

Daniel, whoops! Didn't mean to enable you! I blame Pinterest! I've been exploring a lot more background stamps lately. You know, cause I really need more stamps. I need to check out hose birdcage stamps now!

Dinner tonight is spicy shake n bake chops, rice and peas. Sounded like a good cold weather meal.

Have a great day everyone!

Hey all. Just a quickie here. Been busy. Sold our motorcycle yesterday. but hey... it's just not the same to ride on Wisconsin as it is in Arizona. So now the extra $$ is burning a hole in hubby's pocket, lol.

And tonight is dinner and the play. The school is doing a buffet dinner and then the Wizard of Oz in which the kid has 4 parts, hehehe. Should be fun.

The dog jumped and missed again so he's on pain meds, poor little guy. Didn't even see the bunny in the yard this morning frantically trying to get out of the fence that we blocked to keep the dog in!

Dinner lsat night was steak salad. I buy the ceasar salad packet and broil a flat iron steak for the top of it. Yum. Tonight is the buffet and tomorrow is broccoli and cheese stuffed meatloaf!

Have a great weekend. I haven't crafted, I have 3 cards still sitting here half finished! Two for the PP challenge!

lovepug- I am so glad your Grandma is not seriously hurt. I hope she will get better soon.

It was cold and rainy here today. DH & I ran errands. Just got home to relax. DH is playing Halo and I am making my iPad mini all pretty.

LeighAnn, I hope your Granny will heal up very fast. That is scary.

Kathy, I'm sorry about your dog. My cat has been jumping at windows and so on at all the birds. He is getting pretty old, so I am hoping he doesn't do anything stupid.

Daniel, I saw your Derby Thread yesterday. Very clever. I actually didn't watch the derby though. I saw a photo of how muddy the horses were, though.

Yesterday was very lovely and sunny. I have made two cards yesterday and this morning. I am trying to get together a card sketch and card to make a new challenge. It is more overcast today, but it might clear up. I hope everyone has a fun and relaxing day.

Happy 'Cinqo', y'all! No plans for Mex or Tex-Mex food here, tho'.

Today started out a bit cool, but it's warming nicely (outside) & not very overcast.

I have dinner started. Roasting a (half) chicken. Just basted it with some butter to start the skin browning & crisping. We're having sides of roasted taters & teryaki veggie medley (both are Green Giant microwaveable ones). Mom wants some sherry with her dinner. I'll have tomato juice.

Pug. That's too bad for your gram. Hope she's ok. My mom's 89, too, and not super stable either. She 'uses' her cane, but it's not as much help as she insists it is. Plus she only uses it when she feels like it. While she can walk, she can go very far with pooping out. I'm going to check out the possibility of getting her a (foldable) wheelchair. I can stash it in the car since she doesn't need it in the house. That way I can push her (my turn!) when she'd otherwise have to walk too far.

LOL, Kathy. Is DH planing to by a snowmobile? What 4 parts did the kiddo play in WOO?. I always wanted to play the Wicked Witch. She has the best lines! Not like that wimp Glinda.

Finishing up my medal. Decided I just had to 'tweak' it.

Pretty much it for now. Y'all have a terrific today!

Happy Sunday everyone.
Another cool rainy day for us. The storm we had overnight Friday did some damage to my rose bushes. I'm hoping I can get them back in stable condition.

Thanks for all the well wishes for my Granny. We are all thankful she didn't break anything since surgery isn't an option at her health and age. Daniel, when she fell last year she had to use a wheelchair and threw a fit about it! She finally compromised with my Dad and Aunt and went for one of the walkers with a seat attached. Stubbornness really comes on strong the older they get. Or so it seems, if that's the case my DH is in for it. He already gets annoyed with my stubbornness .

SWLady, I agree with Daniel. It sounds like you need a snowmobile! Your steak salad sounds good. I need to try it!

Heidi, can't wait to see the cards you made.

Lyla, how are you liking the iPad so far? We've thought about getting one. I'm afraid my son would probably take it away though!

I need to finish up some cards today. And figure out dinner. But first I have to make a run to Target for some things. Chat with you all later.

Well, the play last night was awesome! Kid is playing 3 parts, my bad. She played a poppy, that was my favorite. And an Oz citizen and a jitterbug. So cute! This afternoon is the last performance.

Hope your grandma feels better soon Pug! And Daniel, we all know how stubborn moms can be! My MIL has macular degeneration and she is so stubborn about little things that could really help her. I'm afraid her living alone won't last too much longer.

No Snowmobile! LOL. That's another toy that you can only ride so many days out of the year! No, he wants to go shopping today for board games. Specialty ones, not your basic Monopoly, hehehe.

The dog seems better today. The vet usually blames it on his weight. He was 14 lbs but we cut down his food and now he's 12 so it shouldn't be that. This is like the 3rd time he's done this in the last 2 years. Silly dog!

It's warmer here today, and looks like no rain! Stuffed meatloaf for dinner! Everyone have a good one!

Bet the play was fun, Kathy!Too bad DD didn't get to play a munchkin as a 4th role.

Board games? Cool! 'Sorry' & 'Parcheesi(sp?) used to be 2 of my fave board games. I was ruthless playing Sorry--never was!

Yeah mom has macular degeneration, too (one eye). It's not too bad, but she has trouble with some things. And 'God forbid' I should offer to 'help' her. But she's the momma--gotta love her! (or look into 'Shady Pines')

Mom enjoyed her dinner. Didn't care for the taters, but liked the chicken & other veggie. I made sure her portion was 'carrot-free'. There's definitely enough chicken left for good sandwiches.

I'm waiting for some pieces of the medal to dry before doing the final (I mean it!) assembly.

I am tired of it raining buckets already! LOL! Hopefully we will have warm and sunny days starting mid week!

I have been crafting quite a bit. I got cards finished for the Christmas All Year challenge, a tag done for another challenge and a card for another! The rainy days have kept me inside to do this!

I need to get things ready to take to my local stamp club meeting tomorrow night. We will be learning to make a mini magazine file to hold cards. Looks cute!

Everyone take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend! We might go out to eat tonight. Hope the rain lets up.

In all my exhaustion I forgot it was Derby & Cinco this weekend. Two of my favorite holidays. I am so sad I missed Derby coverage. Way to go for Orb!

My DH & I have a friend who is in his nineties. He had a bad fall earlier this year and broke his hip. He was bound and determined to recover quickly. He was out of the hospital in a month. He threw his walker away in two months. Now, he is planning to take a trip to Alaska. He goes all the time. I don't think it's age that makes the golden year crowd stubborn. I think it's the I can still do it and prove you all wrong attitude. I hope I am like that.

lovepug- I hope your rose bushes are ok.

I love my iPad mini. This is my second iPad. I had the first generation. It was so heavy it sprained my wrist. I sold it. I loved that iPad too except for the weight. The new mini just blows the old iPads out of the water. It's so crisp and clear. Runs extremely fast. The biggest point for me is that I am a huge gamer so I needed a tablet that could run heavier games. The iPad won. I also like the iPad because it's sleek and simple. The apps are stable. I don't mind paying extra for stability. There are a lot of great tablets on the market right now so it's hard to choose. The iPad mini was the one that won in all my requirements.
