I've been thinking ...
April showers bring May flowers ... so how about flowers as a prompt?

I wasn't sure about this prompt, but then I saw Lovepug2's (Leigh Ann) card for April with a flower next to her large greeting stamp and it convinced me to use it!

Christmas all Year! April watercolor cards by Lovepug2

You can use any thing from a flower embellishment to a poinsettia stamp or skip the prompt and do whatever you wish!

Merry May!

31 days to play this month!

I know exactly what you mean! So many times I pick things up, talk myself out of it, put it back, pick it up again ... then the next time I'm in the store I pick it up again and wonder ... Did I already buy that? Or did I put it back?

The last time I was in my LSS (well, sort of local, closest is an hour away now), I half jokingly asked the clerk, "Did I buy this already?" She was actually able to look it up and didn't see it amongst my purchases. Handy!

I have a few ideas for this one too. Will get going on it soon since I have other crafting things to do.

I went shopping for more ribbon to make the ribbon wreaths for my March cards. I had used Offray 1/4" polyester ribbon, 10 yards for 99 cents. Wow! have prices changed since I bought that!

I could not find anything like the dark teal blue or the medium blue that I was looking for. Everything is bright and/or patterned, and there were almost no 1/4" ribbons at all. I tried Joann's and Michael's. Then I came home and checked Two Peas; they only have packaged sets. Where do you buy your rolls of ribbon? I found one on-line source but the smallest quantity was 20 yards, and they didn't say what the ribbon was made of.

I did come up with some more ribbon here at home, and I was able to make four more wreaths. I used my Bow Easy for the first time, and made bows for them. Then last night I attached them to four of the unfinished cards. This morning I went in to check them and discovered I'd glued the wreaths on upside down. The cards all open left to right instead of right to left.

I guess, when I get home today, I'll have to remove the fronts and put them on new cards. I thought about just leaving them the way they are, but I really can't do it.

Yay! Love this month's prompt! And I have lots of unused flowers in my stash as well as a cricut cart that's just flowers. I've been wanting to use it and do some stamping on the flowers. This will be fun to see what everyone comes up with!

I'm setting my goal this month for 3 put hoping for 5 if I can do it.

Thanks Iring for another fun one!

Daria, Ribbon has got expensive! My mom goes to a lot of yard and estate sales and recently bought a shoebox full of offray and other brands. We were shocked to see that 1)it still appears to be the same stuff in the stores today and 2) most of the rolls still had prices of 10-50 cents on it! I get most of my ribbon from Hobby Lobby but I know that their stores aren't everywhere. They often run great sales on ribbon.

April, that's a wonderful set of cards! I still love the cardinal image you used on the first card, and that's another way of using him for my arsenal. (All I need to do is find him and buy him so I won't keep having to borrow Nora's stamp.

I love that beautiful dimensional poinsettia you're using.

I think my favorite card, at least for the moment, is the third one with the stamped poinsettia on the eyelet-bordered circle. Could you tell me who makes the die for that circle. I'd like to find that one.

Thank you for getting us started.

Daria, the die is called Beaded ovals by spellbinders. I love it. They have Beaded circles too!

Thanks, April, but the Beaded Ovals is on the first card. How about the third card? It looks like an eyelet border. I'm going to be looking for that one.

Hmmm. That Beaded Oval looks pretty cool too, and I don't have that one either . . .

Sorry, the 3rd die is doilies by Nellie Snellen. I got it at a convention from Sweet Stamps. I looked on their site and did not see it. You might be able to order it from them. the dies are from the UK. But I did not see it on the nellie Snellen site either, so it might be discontinued.

I have three cards done so far that I did with the gatefold sketch challenge. Santa and two more here.

I have some poinsettia embellishments I want to try to figure out how to use for my remaining two cards for this month. I keep trying to use them and then I decide they don't fit.

I've complete three more cards this month with the flower prompt this time.
Flower Prompt Xmas cards

I used a poinsettia stamps, a poinsettia embossing folder and poinsettia embellishments.

So I actually did a total of 6 this month!

Thanks for the challenge!

I have so much enjoyed seeing your cards this morning! They are beautiful and it's obvious they are made with love. Thanks for the spark I needed to get moving on this month's goal!

I love seeing all cards!

Here's my first one for May.

I found the die cut I was hoping I had bought, and I cut out a bunch of the images in several different cardstocks and paper. Now I just need to do the painting, planning, and assembly.

That is such a pretty poinsettia card Daria!

Any other May cards? BTT as a reminder! Yikes! What happened to May?

I'm going to try and squeeze in some play time today. While I was clearing off my desk I found some of the last months' cards and added a few finishing touches. One card had no sentiment inside and a bunch hadn't been stamped with my traditional "hallmark" on the back (my kids actually look for that and give me grief if I don't sign the card on the back!) I'm happy to say the desk is now relatively clear, next comes the floor .

Yep! This month slipped by me too!

May went by way too fast.

Love all the cards. Maybe I can double up next month!?!

Thank you, everyone, for your comments on my one and only card.

This morning, I added a second card to the same post.
My not-so-lonely card.

I had the card base and mat sitting there forever. I would have liked to have stamped and colored a nice poinsettia to complete it, but I didn't have anything the right size. Remember, the other images were from a RAK; I couldn't just stamp them again.

I started fooling around with the pieces this morning, and ended up using a poinsettia I had stamped on unknown patterned paper a few years ago. (Yes, I save just about everything.) I love the card design I CASED from lbpost so even though I hadn't planned to, I CASED it again.

This brings my total for May up to two. Notice I'm not counting it for June. I still have a bunch of die-cut poinsettias waiting to be inked and assembled and made into cards. Think I'll get to it this month? Hope so.
