Hi everyone, I thought I would host my very first challenge here in stamping pea land. I hope you are all able to join in on the fun.

For this challenge, just make an all white card, ATC, tag, whatever floats your fancy. I had to make an all white card for a yahoo group I am in and thought it would be a fun challenge.

You can view the challenge blog here. All White Card Challenge

This will run until the end of the month and then I will select a random winner from all the participants for a fun RAK.

I have uploaded my card that I made for the yahoo group and posted it to the blog so that you can see what I am talking about.

HAVE FUN!

*******I numbered all the entries and used random.org to pick a winner. And the winner is #9 which is Nora S. CONGRATS!! Please peamail me with your address and I will get a prize out to you******

Great! So we can use a little ink (black only?) to edge for for stamping but otherwise it is all white? Sounds like a good challenge. Very elegant sample!

Yes you can use a little color on the edges. Black or gray. I used gray on mine.

WTG, Angie! Pretty card! This should be an interesting challenge!

Are we allowed to use black or grey ink to stamp our images?

Yes you can. I used gray ink to stamp the sentiment on the card.

Thanks, Angie! I may have a grey ink, but I can always do a generation to subdue the black.

LOL! I don't suppose it would be 'kosher', but so tempted to do a snowman in a blizzard--grey eyes stamped on a white card & nothing else.

Kidding aside, this might be a great chance to let embossing folders & layered diecuts help define the white-on-white. What fun!

Yes you can use the silver. Just not reds, pinks, blues, purples, any bright color.

Daniel, I have seen a lot of white on white using the embossing folders and I love them.

One white card coming up.
peace card

I had a bit of a head start because I've been toying with the idea of a snowy white, tone on tone card for Christmas for a while.

Thanks Angie, for giving me the push to finally get it done.

Why does this show that someone posted at 9 pm but I do not see any post? well let's hope my card I am about to post shows up!

Here's my entry!

Love white card

When I was doing my card for Leigh Ann's photo challenge and Heidi's watercolor study, I LOVED the way the white on whit looked before I watercolored it. I thought it'd make an elegant wedding card/anniversary etc., so I wanted to try it! I like how it turn out!

This challenge was so interesting to me---it really made me think about what can I do (other than using colors) to draw the viewers eye to see things on the card. Very interesting when you think about it----there are so many elements that can be used to add interest.

I tried to use light and shadow to "color" my card---hence the 3D butterfly---the wings have various shades of white. Then the use of embossing and the sheer ribbon to add texture.

Funny thing about the shear ribbon: the white satin ribbon I have looked like a BLUEish white and made my white CS look more like a beige white!

I tied the bow with a fork---something I found on pinterest!

Thank you Angela for this challenge ----lots of fun! I want to try some flowers with white on white, but I'll have to see if time allows!

Your card is lovely, Melissa.

I had a similar different shades of white thing happen, while putting mine together only in my case the white glittery tape actually ends up looking cream, next to the rest of the white elements.

Thank you GC!

You know, for a moment yesterday, I almost considered doing a card using different whites b/c of those variations between the "white" items.

SarbearSpencer, Welcome to the Stamping Forum!

For challenges, anyone can join during the dates it is open. For swaps, there is usually a sign up deadline and if you are past that, you will need to wait until the next swap.

When you do this challenge, upload a photo of your project to the gallery, and on the last "page" in the upload process, you will check the "box" for this challenge and then it will be linked to the blog Angela set up.

Usually people come back to the thread here and also post a link to their gallery item so it is easier for people to find their project AND to post comments in the gallery.

Hope that helps!

I am so glad you did this challenge, Angela!

I am so intimidated by all white cards!

This card was pretty quick to come together and it took all I had not to ink up those snowflakes or color that tree but I left it alone and I like how it turned out.

White Christmas

Thank you Angela for this challenge! I hope I can find some time to play around with this some more.

Welcome Sarbear! Hope you saw the welcome thread-the last sticky at the top. You will find lots of basic info about our forum to get you started. Don't stumble around too long...just leave a post and someone will jump in and help answer specific questions. These challenges are informal compared to most boards so just jump-in, create and provide a link on this thread. Looking forward to seeing what you create!...Jan

SarBear, you go to your gallery item, copy the URL from that page. Then come here and reply to the post. Under the box you write in is a light greyblue box. Click on URL. Then paste the URL in the first box, and put the text you want in the second (after you click enter.) That is how you get a link in the message board. Hope that makes sense. I will link for you below.

Sarbear:

First....CUTE card!

To get your card to show up on the blog....normally when you are uploading, you click on the appropriate challenge box in the challenges section of the uploading process.

However, now you have to go to your CONTENT (hover over the arrow next to your pea name at the top right of this page)

Find your card and click the link to EDIT PROJECT right below your project, scroll down to the *member* challenges section and click the All White Cards challenge and save.

It should show up in the blog after that.

I just posted two cards. I not only used ink to edge the mats, I used silver cardstock to edge the flower petals. I'm pretty sure this disqualifies my entries, but I posted them anyway. I'm so grateful that you got me started using some of the petals I die cut a couple of months ago. Thank you for the challenge!
