It is with a heavy heart that I must share the loss of our friend 'Beady' (Kathy).

Her husband, Frank, called me to share the news. It was very sudden. According to him, Kathy had trouble breathing. They got her quickly to the ER & did CPR for an hour, but could not resusitate her.

I am unable to take this tragedy in, but wanted to let all her friends here @ 2Ps know.

Several of us StamPeas have an address for Kathy from swaps. I'm sure some of us will want to send expressions of sympathy & grief to her husband & children.

Yes, April, she was precious, but she'd have snorted over that characterization.

Kathy & I did e-mails & even landline conversations (so grateful). She could curse like a sailor & rarely held back (in private) about her thots. In public, she was mostly a 'lady', but you had a wicked sense of humor & didn't suffer fools gladly. Two things that worked for our friendship, but we didn't agree always & had some wonderful differences of opinion. I will treasure all that.

Daniel, did she post on other boards here? Just wondering if she did if you should share this with them too?

Sad news indeed. I feel as if I'd just begun to know her as a P. Really tragic.

Good question, Angie. I don't think Kathy posted on the other forums, but (if you wish) check her profile for MB posts & feel free to share the information on those forums. Thank you for asking.

WoW what a shock. Such a creative talent to be taken so quickly. I was just looking at all the creative work she put into the tree tag for which we were partners. She will be missed here.

Daniel, I am sorry if I missed it if she talked about her children here. Can you share a little-like general age or school level?

I am sitting here totally stunned.

I am terribly saddened to hear of Kathy's passing. How shocking for our little community. I will keep her family in my thoughts and prayers in the coming days. I really enjoyed her being on the Stamping board and swapping with her.

Thank you, Daniel, for letting us know.

I am shocked and so saddened to hear this news. I enjoyed swapping with her and learning from her, not mention reading her clever posts---always gave me a laugh. She was so talented, not just with her cards, but I found her jewelry beautiful and detailed that she made.

Thank you Daniel for letting us know.

I met Kathy as a member of Club Posh & we hit it off pretty quickly. I'm proud to say that I was the spur to get her to join our merrie band & we had wonderful conversations (offsite) about topics & such.

It feels so odd to lose a friend that I never met 'in person'. But, like so many others on our forum, I 'knew' this person as so much more than just a member of the group here @ 2Ps.

She appreciated all those who managed to be active on our forum & encouraged the faint-of-heart to 'just do it'. In that respect she was the same as so many of us StamPeas--old & new.

Much as I mourn her death, I celebrate her life and am glad that our bunch has so many caring & sharing members. She knew who you were & so do we all.

Oh my goodness, that's so awful! So completely sudden and unexpected. She will be so missed around here.

I still remember when I first became aware of Beady last year when she said that she'd just found her password for 2Peas in a drawer. I thought that was such a funny, casual approach! And I clearly remember the picture of her after her Christmas accident! She was so black and blue!

We're very fortunate to have heard the news from her husband (via Daniel - thanks Daniel) and not just wondered where she was.

Wow, such a shock.

My condolences to her family. I am so sorry for their loss.

Here is a link to Kathy's obituaryfor those who wish to view it. Do know that there is a online guest book on the page which will be open for 1 year (corrected from "open today only" thanks to Heidi's post below). There is a review process before posts are publicly displayed.

Thanks Heidi about the date correction for the guest book! I thought that was odd but I guess because I have only seen them open for a few months I didn't even looked at at the year-silly me.

I don't know Christin but I always just assumed she chose it because she made beaded jewelry... I know she made jewelry but I'm not sure exactly what kind. Could be one of those assumptions that makes an ass out of me

Far as I know, Kathy went by 'Beady' cause she did do lots of jewelry making--including beadwork. She was also a member of a group of stampers who did 'Asian'.

I just want to say to all the peas that knew and were close to Kathy how sorry I am for your loss. Daniel, it sounds like she was a very special friend to you and I appreciate all the interesting things that you wrote about her and how you came to know her so well.

I didn't know Kathy other than to read her posts and admire her work, but I'm certain had there been time, I would have gotten close to her like so many of you had.

She is most certainly gone too soon.

As I have mentioned, I met Kathy on another stamping site & it was that site that led her DH (Frank) to share the sad news with me.

Imagine my surprise when (along with other of Beady's friends) I got a package from Kathy's family!

Our packages included a Thank You card, a photo of Kathy (complete with wry smile) & a stamp from her stash.

As I told Frank via email, it was such a pleasure to learn that her family was as caring as the lady herself.
