Here are the details on my SOF13 Keep It Local challenge.

My challenge to you is to create a project (tag, card, layout, etc) that represents what is local to you. Local should mean where you live now, not where you grew up. Local can be your city, state, country. Heck, if you really get stuck, or don't want to tell us where you live, it can mean the planet Earth. I just ask that in your gallery post, please explain what is local about your project.

You will find details and a couple of examples in my SOF13 Keep It Local blog post. (And you will see that another StamPea's project is what inspired this challenge in the first place!)

Challenge Guidelines:
1) Make a finished project (anything- card, layout, tag, etc) that represents what is local to you.
2) Use at least one stamped image or sentiment.
3) When you upload your project to the gallery, please explain what is "Local" about your project.
4) Please check the challenge box and then link your project to this Discussion Thread.
5) Yes you can combine this challenge with other SOF13 challenges.
6) There will be a RAK for this challenge.
7) The challenge runs between 12 October - 21 October 2013

I have got a set of stamps that are perfect for this challenge. And I was planning to use them for my Christmas cards this year but I haven't gotten started yet. Now I've got a challenge to motivate me.

I'm off to the craft shop today to (hopefully) buy some Australian themed pp. I have something in mind, but I don't know if I'll be able to find it, so Plan B is just anything Australian!

I'm not sure if my one local element is enough, but I figured I would give it a try.

Nice combo, Craft Nerd! And yes, 1 local thing is just fine. Thanks for participating in my challenge!

Christin, can't wait to see this Australian paper if you are able to find it!

And thanks, everyone, for your kind words about my challenge, I'm really glad you like it, and look forward to learning more about your localities!

I made a card which I think meets this challenge but when I uploaded my project I ran into a glitch and didn't get it to load to the challenge blog. It's fine if it doesn't get officially entered but I'm going to post the link to the project here, though so you can see it and see another way to use something local in a project.

Thanks for hosting.

Here is my entry! Thanks for the challenge! In SC we grow lots of peaches. We have a duel with GA that our peaches are sweeter and we started growing them first! LOL! We have a peach orchard about 3 miles from us and a peach stand where I buy them in the summer. They are yummy! I forgot to check your challenge so that my entry would be on your blog. How can I get it there now? Thanks.

Sadie, that card is fabulous...love the animal stamps. I laugh when I read your description and you mention throwing out the packaging or having unmounted stamps without identification. I have so many supplies like that where I just can't remember who made them.

Hi Michele,
I am so happy I could finish an all in one card that features our local view of the Aurora. Now I did take the broad view since I know Antarctica has the Southern Lights nearly at our same time as our and others across the Arctic can also see the lights but nonetheless when international tourists want to see them our location is the best in the US for being accessible by car.

So I happy to played and thank you for hosting! Here is my link.
