This challenge was inspired by Far North's recent SOF 2 part challenge for embossing folders.

Please read the challenge blog before asking questions. But I know there will be lots of Qs--I hope.

Here's your chance to be 'testy' in a good way!

I really like this idea.

I always test or stamp off onto scratch paper. I know some probably don't but it will be fun for everyone to share their creations.

I like the 3 steps to this.

This is sort of related to stamping, I was wiping off my craft may after using alcohol inks once and the colors on the textured paper towel came out so pretty. I kept it and have always wanted to use it on a project.

I hope I can play along. I've gotta get back into the stamping grove!

This might get a little messy but interesting! Last Christmas I was stamping for the afternoon with my cousin. After we were done I looked down at my test paper and said, wow this looks like an art piece in itself! I typically throw out my test paper right away, so nothing ever really develops. Starting today, lets see what happens!

Glad to see folks interested in the challenge.

I'll be pulling my desiginated 'test page' out today. Hard part will be making sure I know where it is, but I have a plan for that.

As I hope I explained in the blog, the test sheet is for anything you're 'testing' as you work on projects during the next few weeks--generation stamp-offs, color tests, masking, stenciling, etc. Anything you're doing as you create your projects during that period.

One thing I think will be interesting is trying NOT to delibrately turn the test page into a 'work'. That might be tempting, but (for me) defeats the random aspect of this challenge. KWIM?

Looking forward to what our results will be--test page & the actual projects.

I was thinking about that as I wrote my last post...hope I don't get too careful with placing my test runs! Also, where to put the test paper for a length of time?? Just so it doesn't get tossed out, think ill store it in my craft closet.

Fair warning. My test pages typically look like disasters and explosions occurred.

LOL, Heidi! Messy & chaotic is exactly what a test page should be. As AJ & I have shared, it isn't meant to be in any way deliberate. And you are not limited to justing doing tests on one side of you page.

Until you reach step #3 of the challenge (use the test to make a project), just keep using the test page for its original purpose. Then You will have time to discover what you made without knowing you made it.

Keeping track of our test sheet? Good idea, AJ. I'm taping mine to the wall next to my workspace so I see it whenever I do any crafty stuff!

Daniel, I've got an issue with my test paper...I had done some test stamping today on it, then stamped my actual project and cleaned up my stamps. Then I realized, I needed something fussy cut to overlay it on actual project. I had to snip it off test paper. Ok I was just being lazy and didnt want to get the stamp out again. Do I start my test paper over, or is a hole ok?

OH, AJ! May you live forever for bringing up the 'used my test page' possibility!

From the original challenge aspect, it would be nice if we can share a pic of the entire 'test page', but (as you point out) there are times when using something from the 'TS' just makes perfect sense. BTDT!

So here's my 'take' on the question... If you cannot share a complete 'test page', I'm cool with that. Just tell us what you used off of it & make that project one of the ones you show us in step #2. Does that make sense?

FWIW? I'm using an 8x11 sheet of copier paper for my TS. Gives me room for lots of different tests & such.

I made a little progress on my test page. It's starting to look interesting and I've got lots of room left to test on.
