I hope you all are ready for a fun week full of stamping!

My challenge is perfect for all stampers... beginners, "experts," and those in between. Your work of art can be a classic CAS (Clean & Simple) design, or you can go super artsy and go crazy with your paints, texture mediums, and spray mists.

Your Challenge...

Create a mixed media work of art using at least two stamps, one of which should be an image. Your second stamp can be a different image and/or a sentiment or phrase. You may use any type of stamp, including digital stamped images and sentiments. I would also like you to choose at least three mediums from the list below to create your work of art. Your work of art can be anything, a card, scrapbook layout, mini album, altered art, canvas art, ect.

Choose at least 3 types of medium from the list below to create your work of art

Multiples of an item will be considered 1 item. For examples, instead of choosing 3 buttons for your creation, chose one button, one brad, and one enamel dot instead.

Suggested Supply List
Dye, pigment, VersaMark, or chalk ink
Acrylic paint
Watercolors (traditional, H2O's, or Gelatos)
Gesso, Mod Podge, or Gel Medium
Modeling paste, Embossing paste, or some other texture medium
Embossing powder
Ribbon, twine, fibers
Buttons, eyelets, brads, or beads
Paper, chipboard, Vellum
Glitter or Fun Flock
Cork, Metal, Aluminum
Plastic, Acetate,
Other, choose something fun that isn't mentioned above

When uploading your creation to the gallery, please be sure to list the types of mediums you chose for your project. Pam from Pickled Potpourri Designs has generously offered a $7 gift certificate to her Digital Stamp store for one randomly selected participant of this Winterfest Mixed Media design challenge. Be sure to link your creation to this challenge to be entered to win.

You may combine this challenge with (1) other Winterfest challenge.

Multiples of an item will be considered 1 item. For examples, instead of choosing 3 buttons for your creation, chose one button, one brad, and one enamel dot instead.

This should be fun. I've not done mixed media on purpose before, so I will be happy to try this out!

Getting ready to leave for my 9am class, the gallery upload is fighting me right now so I'll have to post my sample projects later when I get home.

I'm so glad to hear that you all are excited about this challenge, I love the versatility it allows. I'm all for creating art the way you need to.

Here is my project. I did combine this with Stencil Me In. It was a natural combo to me.

I really liked the idea in my head for this scene, but it was more difficult than I thought to get a good result, especially with the paste! If I do this again, I will start with sturdier watercolor paper as the base and maybe make a distressed ink background.

Thanks so much for the challenge. I clearly need to work on this a bit more.

Here is my card.

I used the following
Burlap (my choice)
cork
metal
leather (my choice)
brads
2 stamps
twine
heavily textured red paper (my choice)
dry pigment ink - script
stazon (on the metal (hard to see)

Had fun with this card, but it was also hard work for me, not sure it came together to make it an outstanding card. It is kind of mediocre as I look at it. May make some adjustments after WF 14

Thanks for taking me out of my comfort zone of how I normally stamp! This was so fun to make, I'll have to keep trying to create projects with lots of inky layers.

Bicycle card

I combined with "Mask Your Stamp" and "Paint Brush Challenge"

Stacy thanks for the challenge that SHOVED me from my comfort zone! I really have been wanting to 'feel' mixed media.

So here it is... my attempt at mixed media for WF14 It really was fun and I learned mixed media is a lot less random than it looks. AND I've got a long ways to travel in the mixed medium/format. Now at least I have a feel for the road there. Thanks again.

It really took me awhile to venture out of my comfort zone too. I still have a tendency of retreating back to it LOL but I find that mixed media sort of gives me permission to try things I normally wouldn't. I'm transferring that to other areas of my art... and life so it's been great for me.

I made a scrapbook page for this one. Lots of stamping and I used versamark/ white embossing powder for a resist. I added 2 different mists to the background after trying out my gelatos but being disappointed. I used some ribbon, a heart button, a charm and a brad plus some sticker letters. Thanks for a great challenge!

This was a real challenge for me! Mixed media is way harder than I thought. I feel like my card is a bit messy but I had fun doing it so it's all good! I plan to try another piece this week.

Thank you Stacy for the challenge!

Yes it definitely was a lucky winterfest for me.

I already received my gc and have a few stamps picked out. Digi is new to me so I will be on a learning curve.

Thanks for the unique challenge, I think a lot of us really enjoyed it!
