I mean, I know that it says so next to our avatars - but let's age ourselves.
I've been here 7 years. I SO miss the pub of old - HOF excitement and the days when this board moved SO FAST with toots you couldn't keep up. Way back when we were all happy to share our achievements with each other and celebrate one another. When it was fun and there was a bartender and I knew everyone.

Aww....now I'm sad. I WANT THE PUB BACK.

nearly 13 years counting the lurking I did before I actually signed up. I think I found the site soon after it started up and still remember Pea1 on the boards posting with everyone.

I got to know a ton of people here also, but was out of scrapping for a little while, and now don't really know anyone LOL! Totally remember all the toots, excitement, fun. I was involved in the 'tipsters' group too...

fun days.. speaking of which, I have a toot too.

I miss the good old days too. This board used to be hopping and I loved the excitement of HOF and all of the covert user names associated with it.

I'm fairly 'new' to this board being around here regularely for around two years or so.

Obviously, I don't know the 'good old days' you are speaking about

But I have to admit, it makes me feel sad to read this (there were more threads about these 'good old times' and the 'not so good times right now' recently).

Because it makes me feel like I am not one of the 'good ones' ... not part of the 'good old days' ... seems it only was fun while others were around ... KWIM?

BTW: Someone wants to tell me what 'HOF' is? Don't have a clue...

Hi Sylvia! For me, when I refer to the "good old days" it has more to do with everyone feeling free to share their accomplishments and how fast the board used to move. It kind of turned sour for a while and people were kind of shy about sharing. Nothing to do with who was/is here. I know I'm happy that you're here and I've been able to enjoy your beautiful work and build a friendship with you. Oh, and HOF was Creating Keepsakes' Hall of Fame, basically the design team they chose for the year based on loads of applications and submissions.

7 years for me...I agree this board used to be a mover, not so much now..What do you think we can do to get it back that way?? It would be nice to hear of more good news, more tips on how to help each other more networking on here on what calls are out there....

Coming up to nine years for me next month.

I too miss those exciting days with Brad making late night drinks and silly posting threads, but Lisa made a good point: Things changed within the industry and they were reflected back here, so there was no longer the same opportunities to post toots, and to build up Hall of Fame and Memory Makers Masters anticipation threads.

Tipsters was a great group Helen - I know I learned a lot through following the threads.

Now, don't leave us hanging, you must tell us about your toot!!!

How many years? I'm not sure, but I have been here since they kicked us off the general scrapbooking board and started the PUB but mostly as a lurker I add my two cents here and there.

I took 2 years off from scraping just b/c of a crazy life schedule. So happy to be back but I do miss how busy this board used to be and all the secret HOF toots - the call stories and celebrating everyones success together. I also miss how fast the gallery used to move and all the peanut praise....I almost feel like I'm doing something wrong when I leave praise these days.

Love seeing old faces and new ones as well.

I registered for my account a couple months before my youngest was born, in 2002! I was username "elendae" for most of those years, but changed my user name to my reaal name about a year ago. I miss the "old" Pub too, and always so happy to see someone I know from "back in the day" drop by and post.

I haven't been around long enough to have experienced the "good ole days" and the drama but I do remember this place was still busier than it is now. Seems it just cycles as other things do. I'd love to see it pick back up with toots and celebrating. So fun to have that kind of camaraderie and support with one another.

I started posting in 2000 but I was around reading before that. I came to get inspiration from the gallery! I loved all of the toot excitement. Things have changed though. Some of those exciting things are gone and over and I think we became concerned about what we could and should share and what we shouldn't!

Hear, hear Christa!
I have been around for 6 years but only really posting in the last couple of years, mostly over the last year or so. I did watch a little when things moved faster. I would love to see everyone able to share and build each other up. I admit to being gun shy, having once been told that my sharing and genuine excitment was 'bragging'. Funny, cause I am soooo excited for some of my friends on this board! (Yay for Lisa getting LYB and Sylvia getting Spellbinders as examples). Fist bumps ladies! Do tell us about your toot Helen! Change will happen if we make it happen!

LOL, well its not a huge toot, but I'm happy simply because it was the first time I submitted a layout in 2 years, but a tribute layout to my dad (died of cancer last year) was requested for publication in an Australian magazine. First time with that mag and in Australia.

Hi ladies I've been here for about 6 years (a year of lurking). I don't post much in the forums, turned off by some of the behavior.

There are sooo many talented ladies here!

I was super excited to get a layout picked up by Scrapbooks Ect. for the October issue!

Congrats on the pub Helen

I have been here 6 years but I mostly lurked up until about 6 months ago. When I did post it seemed no one really responded back to me. It sort of felt like an exclusive club that I just didn't fit in. KWIM? I hope I'm not offending anyone with my opinion. I like it more now....I was around for all of that nastiness that happened a while back and it turned me off. I also felt weird "tooting"...that's why I never bothered to announce my guest designer spot for LYB. I didn't want people to think I was bragging. I feel a lot more comfortable here now. I hope to continue to develop friendships here. I love the pub!

Jen apparently we came at the same time. I've been here since January 2005. The funny thing is that I don't think I've ever really been a "pub" girl...even though this is the only place at 2peas I ever come!!

I also just think the publications have changed so much now - it's so much more assignment-centered. Now if only I could get more assignments...

Oh goody!!! An Old TImer thread!

Funny.... I've been gone for a LONG time, come back just cuz I was bored... and find this thread. Cool!

I've been around since 2000? I think? I remember when the Pub was opened cuz peas were complaining about all the tootin going on over at the General Board so they wanted to give us a place just FOR tootin

I too miss Brad the Bartendar...sigh.... I'm REALLY in the mood for a Marguarita... (on the rocks please...) just in case Brad shows up

Jen! I could have reposted exactly what you said in your original post! I certainly do miss the good ole days! HOF and Masters excitement was sooooooooooo much fun! heck..... there were A TON more BIG contests back in the day! now it seems like the manu's just do little giveaways through their blogs and Facebook. Not that that's not cool or fun... just different and less exciting I guess. LOL Anyhoooo.... it's been great reading through this post and daydreaming about the "early days".

I've been around for 8 years I lurcked for about a year and when I got my first pub I joined in with the toots!!! I do also really miss the big contests, they added such a buzz to the scrappy community. Now it is almost to the point of who you know..........kwim? Talent is everywhere and I find everyones blogs soooo inspiring.....but it lacks the wonderful energy that used to get us all revved!! There is nothing like competition to do that. But still I love this place and the scrapbooking community, this is why I have been scrapping now for 14 years.......wow I think that ages me a bit

I've been here a long time, and loved the toots and the HOF threads. that was fun. I didn't post much back then, but enjoyed the threads anyhow! I miss all the action. YOu'd see a thread in the morning and by nightfall, it would be on page 3. Now we can go a month sometimes with the same posts on the first page. Sad what some people can do when they see other people having fun and enjoying themselves. I remember all the hub bub and complaints HERE about the toots. Considering that is WHY this board was started, I thought those complaints were pretty lame!!

And it's not about not liking the newer people at all. They are great! It's kind of like when your best friend lived next door but then moved somewhere else---then someone else moved into their house. You don't NOT like them, you just miss the one that used to live there!

I DO remember the Pub of old...fun and hopping, with toots and HOF excitement.

I joined Peas 9 years ago, but for most of those years I didn't post here since I was on the DT of a competitor's site. 2 years ago I came out of lurkdom, and a few months ago started actually posting to the message board on a more regular basis.

It's been a little over 10 years for me! I also remember the "Good ole days" of the Pub, when it would move so fast, there would be LOTS and lots of "Toots", HOF, Masters, etc. I loved the challenges we would do each week and all the chatter. I met so many life long friends there! I also remember the Pregnant peas postings here in the pub, so much fun to share with all the other Pregnant peas, I had two of my three kids and posted to those posts. I hung out so much here, day and night! I really miss it!

I became a "pea" in 2003 but didn't discover the Pub until 2004.
It really was busy back then.
But kind of lost it's luster for me after all the drama and some of the nastiness that sprang up

I check in every once in a while, but don't really post anymore.
And I miss it
And ironically, I didn't get on my first design team or get my first magazine pubs until 2011. Several years after

2p's was my first scrapbook website discovery.
And the place that changed scrapbooking for me forever!

I've been around since the beginning. When 2peas was little and sold paper piecing patterns and had pea soup (maybe 12 or 13 years ago)
Then the big change happened and our original pea numbers disappeared

I opened a new pea account several years later even though I was here lurking

I loved the old days with the board moving so fast, pregnant peas, HOF and the other big contests. The anticipation was so exciting. But the best part was all the toots.
Brad the bartender was fun and those threads that were 97 pages long

How cool I thought I heard the bartender was back

Have met lots of lovely people through this board over the years and still like to cheer folks on who are interested in getting pubbed or celebrate when someone see's their projects in print.
Maybe we can resurect some of those parties or CHA in spirit challenges, they were good fun.

I've been here a LONG time, I think my names say 9 years but I lurked for many years before I got up the nerve to post or register. I miss the HOF/Masters, oh now that was FUN! I'd work DAYS on my entry only to get shot down by people who scrapped twice as well as I did, but oh how I loved those layouts, (still do) and the excitement leading up to the final results, was fantastic.

1 year of lurking and 7 years a pubster. I loved the HOF and remember Melody Ross's Chatterbox MIM? What fun. I think the industry has changed so much from "those days" and we forgot to change with it...we need an updated version of Lemonade Stand's helps for those trying to be published that include the whole electronic media trend and the diminishing paper magazines. I would love to see the old challenges: I remember when a pubster would line up photos of pattern paper and you would have to try and name the manufacture...LOL ....we need those days back.

We all miss the HOF and MIM and Masters, there is great fun around preparing to submit and cheering each other on.

Have seen lots of card maker comps still going on. Maybe we need to campaign to bring back the big events - for the good of the crafting marketplace and we all love a bit of fun?
