Hello peas! I haven't scrapped in forever and I'm slowly starting to get into it again and I've been playing around with some digital stuff. I really like it!

My question is this (and I did do a search, but couldn't seem to find an answer, so if someone could help me that would be great). There are some elements, like some brushes, etc. that I think are so cute and would transfer well to paper scrapping too...I guess this is "hybrid" scrapping. What I'm wondering though is this: how many times could I print an element, like a brush or even a cute frame or an accent from a kit and use it on a page? I don't want to infringe on any copyrights, you know? I would NEVER print it and sell it on a project or anything, I'm just talking about for my personal use. Is there a limit? I'm just thinking, if I bought an accent like this at the scrapbook store, I would have to pay for each accent I bought (like a frame or something for example). Does this apply to digital? What are the rules and where can I read about them?

Does any of this make sense? I just don't want to use something cute more than once if that is not okay. Also, if I wasn't going to print it (as in print the element/brush/accent/whatever to use on a paper page) and just leave the page(s) digital, but maybe have them printed out is that okay? Like if I purchased one kit and made a little 6x6 album out of it for printing purposes...can I use the papers and stuff in the kit for more than one page? Like if the kit had a polka dot paper...could I use that piece of paper for more than one page of the album?

I hope my question makes sense. Thanks in advance for the help! You peas are awesome!!

Endlessly. As in, as many times as you want! As in, you can print them for hybrid, or for a digi book, or for a single page, as often as your little heart desires! Isn't that the COOLEST thing you've ever heard?

And, you can recolor all elements, pp's, etc. to use in countless different ways.

And, if you buy the commercial version, you could even SELL the stuff you make.

Woo hoo!

As far as I know, you can use digital elements over and over and over as long as it's for personal use. That's a big reason why we digi scrappers love what we do...we don't have to keep going out and buying letter stickers, rub ons, or paper...we just reuse what we have. Isn't that so cool?

Once you buy a kit, you have permission to use the elements as much as you want on your own pages or books. If you want to scrapbook for someone else or sell cards that have digital elements, then you'd need to purchase a commerical license.

Each digital item (whether it's a separate element or a kit) comes with a terms of use (TOU). When you download digi stuff, there is usually always a TOU in the kit/item folder somewhere and it will tell you what you can use the items for. They vary a little, but they all pretty much allow you to use the digital items for your own use provided you are not sharing copies of the items with others who haven't paid for them.

Seriously?

That is awesome! I kept reading the "terms of use" and stuff on the things I had downloaded, but never really could get a clear answer on this.

I personally don't have the time right now to make anything to sell (although it is awesome that you can purchase the commercial license and do that!), but I have tons of ideas in my head of pages (especially hybrid stuff) that I could make with these cute little accents and stuff. I just kept wondering if that would be wrong, since if I bought it in the store, I would have to pay for each thing individually...wasn't sure if I had to go purchase the digi accents again and again as well.

thanks for the quick response!
