Hi, I'm still fairly new to the whole digital thing... love it but kind of was wondering, I have purchased a few alphabets that when I download them they are all 26 letters on a single .png file. What do we do with that? Crop it for each letter we need? Or is there a simpler way? Thanks in advance. |

I use the rectangular or elliptical marquee tool to "cut" the letters out. Then I drag them down onto my layout. |

I do it the same way as Lorrell - select the portion I want with the marquee tool and drag it to the layout. Keep the questions coming. And welcome to digi. |

welcome!!
I usually select the letter with the lazo tool and then ctrl+J (it creates a new layer with my letter).
I will try as the others wrote..maybe it's a easier way ^__^ |

One nice thing about having the letters all on one sheet, is that you can drag the whole sheet onto your lo. Drag it on as the top layer, then you can use your marquee tool to select each letter, ctl j and it makes a copy of just that letter. Be sure you have the sheet layer selected each time you make your selection of the next letter. If the whole sheet is on the lo you can easily see if the size will work or will need to be adjusted, and you can add letters later if you change your mind about your title (me!). Just click the little eyeball next to the sheet layer in your layers palette to turn off its visibility while you move your letters around. |

I learned something new! Dragging doesn't work for me (I think because I keep my layout maximized), but nonetheless, I'm going to try Liz's way. That seems so much less time-consuming. Thanks for the tip. |
