are you doing elf on a shelf this year? i got off to a slow start, but plan on stepping it up, with aspirations of "pinterest worthy" pics every day for the rest of the month. who am i fooling? i hope to have at least 5 pictures, that are not blurry, when christmas gets here.
being that my girls are grown, i am using my elf as a means by which to document my december with fun pictures. as a neurotic child, i was terrified of santa, and the elf reminds me of those long christmas eve nights, me scared to come out of my room, just in case the pipe smoking perpetrator was breaking and entering. so...now i have chester, who travels around the house at night, spying on children, while they sleep. "it puts the toys in the basket lest i tell santa, you were naughty". uh, nope.
however, i love the concept, no matter how you approach it. anyone wish to share their elf antics with the group? post your pics or links to your pics here so that we may all enjoy!
meet chester.
chester hung out with us at thanksgiving...incognito.
he helped himself to some refreshments.
i expect great things from him.

My kids are all grown up too but I bought an elf for my DGS (s) last year. It didn't work out very well for them so I ordered one last week for myself
Not certain what my plan is yet though. Really looking forward to Chester's daily antics!

Looks like the old boy got a little tipsy... I hope you can keep Chester out of the adult beverages until New Year's Eve! |

We used to have one, but then I figured Brooklyn had outgrown it and passed it on to Ericka for the little girls ... I kind of miss Blink, and now I really wish we had him back. |

We have an elf, too - meet Lizzy:
So far Lizzy's been to my office and helped me with some typing, hid in the poinsettia plant, decorated the tree, and rode a reindeer. She's been busy LOL |

kat,
lizzy is beautiful. as is your tree!
everyone needs an elf. i saw an adoption center at target on saturday. for those of you who don't have one yet, get out there and adopt yourself a new friend. then exploit them through pictures.

I had never heard of Elf on a Shelf until you brought it up a few days ago. It is a cute concept for the December Daily though. Looks like we are going to have plenty of elf adventures posted this year. |

Am I the only one fixated on the gorgeous handwriting on the chalkboard? Did you do that, Emily? |

thanks gen,
i am OBSESSED with chalkboards right now. my daughter made that one for me by painting plywood with chalkboard paint and i bought the frame at Hobby Lobby. the chalked handwriting is not hard to do, if you have decent cursive handwriting. the trick is adding the shading and curls and having an eraser standing by!! i have to give my daughter credit for the handwriting, as she is the one that showed me how to do it.

We have an Elf this year.
I am enjoying the planning as much as the kids enjoy seeing what he does!
I did a digital layout last year for his location daily. Looking forward to doing it again this year.

We don't have an elf. I was going to say, Emily... It seems like Chester had a few too many! |
